When there is a parade, watch a bit of it, but then leave the viewing area to go hit a few rides! There is nobody on them and you could easily run on to rides quickly. Its always worked for me in the past so try it out!

Yes, during a parade or nighttime show is definitely a good time to hit the rides. But, we love to see those parades and shows, so I guess we'll just be one less person in line.:)

My DD (10) loves to do this! She's seen the parades several times so now when we go she just wants to hit the rides. We never stake out a parade spot so it's usually just "hit or miss" at whether or not we can see what's going on. She'd much rather walk straight on the rides several times than watch the parade. One of her favorite rides is BTMR and we walked on about 7 or 8 times during one of the parades. She loved it! Great tip - and it worked wonderfully for us, too!

My kids and DH always want to skip parades to ride the rides. It works great. :thumbsup2

They even prefer to miss the fireworks to hit the rides. So we compromise and I get to watch fireworks once during the trip and the rest of the time we hit the rides.

That's a good idea but then you miss the parade. They aren't very long anyway so you might get one or two attractions in before the parade is over. I never go to parades at home but I love the ones at Disney.

We always skip the parades and fireworks to do this - I guess we've been often enough that jockeying for spot to watch a show crammed in with thousands of other people has lost its appeal. Would much rather be getting the last few minutes out of WS during Illuminations than sitting on a curb watching it. We can see if just fine as we head to the next country!

With the exception of the P&PP parade, we are not 'parade people' so we always ride! However, we will be going to MVMCP this year so we will definitly need to see that one!

YES! The MNSSHP grave diggers is a scene u DO NOT wanna miss in that parade! its very cool!:thumbsup2

The MNSSHP parade is one of my favorites of all time. Since most of the rides were walk on at MNSSHP when we went ( we walked onto SM 3 times in a row:thumbsup2 ), it is a great parade to catch, and not worry about riding the rides.

We watch Specro in Frontierland on the Splash Mt side of the street. Then when the parade is all but over, we dash over to BTMRR for back-to-back rides with virtually no wait. The parade route has pretty much cut off any new people from getting to the rides over there. I know the boardwalk allows people to walk back and forth, but it doesn't seem to be a problem.

This Is always me delima with my DS,I always want to stake out a spot and he wants to see how many rides he can get IN:rotfl2:,I guess Its not to bad we split on It he sits through a few and I skip a few but the Idea of leaving torads the end Is smart but only If I could draw my self away from It:rotfl2:

I love to go on rides when the parades are going on, even though I do make sure that sometime during our trip that we see the whole parade- but at other times we hit the rides! Great tip!

The Boo to You Halloween Parade is wonderful! Don't skip that one if you are going to the party! It is totally worth it! The choreography is great compared to any of the other parades, however, it shows twice during the party, so you can always skip out on one or the other for rides ;)

We did this last year . I gave my boys the option of what they wanted to do and they wanted to ride. Either way was fine with me. We rode Splash Mountain 3 times with out getting off and there was NO ONE on the ride with us at all. It was sort of wierd though being the only ones on the whole ride. I had never seen anything like it. We also had luck early in the morning with test track 5 times in a row withoutnexiting was enough for me lol!

but i think the parades are totally cool! I'll try this when we've seen the parades lots of times. thanks for the cool tip. :)
