I've got 24 meals to plan. Please help me!

Our trip is still 39 weeks away but with so many meals to plan I want to be ready to make ADR's in March. DH and I are traveling the World on the Premium plan so I need to arrange breakfast, lunch and dinner for each day. Where I'm struggling mostly is with the breakfast list but I have doubts about a few of our lunch and dinner choices as well. I need to get this dining list together in order to know what parks we'll do on what days. I need at least four more restaurants for breakfast and a few more each for lunch and dinner in case we can't get the ADR's we want. I know you guys can help me. And before you say it I know this is a lot of food. But believe it or not we're looking forward to it!

San Angel Inn (questionable - I don't want to do this one but DH really does. It's way too dark in there for my taste. I would rather try Nine Dragons in China.)

If you haven't already checked out allears.net do so as it has all the restaurants and menus. Your choices so far look good, not sure if you'll get the hoop de ho, i hear about people not getting this months out, also boma has lots of good reviews for breakfast and dinner if you are near AKL, also if you are going to the boardwalk spoodles for dinner maybe and possibly some places in DTD and Epcot, have a great trip, Enjoy
 
DH and I really like Kona Cafe at the Poly. It was quick, quiet, pretty good simple food, and pretty good service.

I will take a look at the rest of your choices! (Just wanted to add Kona real quick!)
 
We love Marrakesh. Also Chef's de France is great. WHAt about Boma or Ohana.
Boy I would be THRILLED to plan 24 meals,lol

You can call now to book the Hoop De Do Review. It's a fun time for all ages in my opinion. I'm a big fan of Artist Point as well as 50's Prime Time. You may also luck out with CRT if you call 180 days in advance. While the word is getting out about this, most people are still thinking that they have to wait until 90 days out to make their reservations. Plus, the increase in price may be keeping away some people. I just made my dining reservations for the last week of June and was pleasantly surprised that I could make everything today.
 
Kona ... I totally forgot about that place. We've never eaten there for breakfast and I hear the Tonga Toast is delicious. Okay, I'm adding Kona to the breakfast list.

We don't like Boma for dinner - too spicy. Is the breakfast good enough to make the trip over to AKL early in the morning?

Ohana - loved it once but would like to try something different. I will add it to my alternate list though 'cause we did enjoy our time there.

Chefs De France and Spoodles - can someone please tell me more?
 
My favorite restaurant is not on your list! I love Ohana's. I thought the food was great and the frozen drinks were even better. I love the atmosphere and the view of the castle in the distance. I can't wait to go there this March. :lovestruc

My wife and I have the Premium Plan for ourselves for 9 days at Disney. So far, here's what we have ADR's for.

Breakfast - mostly at CSR where we are staying due to some early mornings, but also at Boma and the Aloha Breakfast at the Poly.

Rose and Crown (get a 7:30 or so ADR, ask for an outside table and eat slowly so you can see Illuminations)

We didn't get many ADR's for lunches, because we wanted to try and leave some flexability. As far as I know, even on the Premium plan, you can get Counter Service meals as well.

I want to try Spoodles for breakfast and Olivia's for lunch. Although 50's Prime Time is our favorite at MGM, I would go to the Hollywood Brown Derby in a heartbeat since on the premium plan the number of credits don't matter. Definately try a dinner show or two. I'd also do Wolfgang Puck's while at DT Disney.
 
So you are going for around 8 days? Why don't you pick which days you wan to go to the parks and then work around that? Park hours come out around the 180 day mark..maybe sooner so don't make the ADRs until you see the park hours or EMH (if that matters). Then, you can just switch the whole day with another day instead of switching all the ADRs. I just finished planning 10 days and 30 meals. It was soo much easier to do by planning the day first and working the meals around it. There is also a spreadsheet on the Dining Plan thread (kind of like a Dining Plan credit tracker) that you can input your restaurants and credits and it will calculate it for you. Also there's room for notes to put in your ADR# and you can fit the piece of paper in your purse and take it with you. Let me know if you want the link. And IMO..50'S Prime Time..is not worth a trip to MGM. No one in my party liked the food. We're not really picky either. Most places I will try again, but I don't know if I'd waste the $$ there. HTH
 
I think your list looks good. My biggest problem is also the breakfasts--definitely Boma the morning we go to AK, the rest play it by ear--food court at POFQ, maybe Main St Bakery MK day, and Starring Rolls MGM day. I think if you can plan which days you are going to which parks then plan around that it'll make it easier. Why go all the way to a park just to eat lunch there?
 
I second Kona Cafe for breakfast but also the Grand Floridian Cafe or Spoodles for breakfast.

What about Citricos or Narcoissee's or Flying Fish for dinner?

Hollywood Brown Derby would definitely be my choice for lunch in MGM.

My family enjoyed Alfredo's in Epcot (would make a lovely lunch) and if you find you have more Dinners than lunches - you could switch Le Cellier to lunch as their appetizers and desserts are the same and they have a very nice petit filet Mignon at lunch (and many other good choices as well).

My vote would be to keep Planet Hollywood (it was one of the best meals of our trip - the steaks and ribs were great and the desserts were to die for).
 
I also think you should settle your park itinerary first and then plug in the ADRs which best fit. You'll wear yourself out hopping around to make it on time for an ADR.

I'm not sure if this is an issue for you guys, but personally we would not do so many TS's because it would take away from time in the parks, not to mention it makes one VERY full. When DH and I went to WDW the first time we felt very sluggish from eating so much. I can see why so many people split portions or plan just one TS per day!

Of course, I am just jealous :flower: since I won't be eating out anywhere even close to WDW until well after my baby is born!

I would try to add Kona we ate there last week and it was the best meal of the week

We loved Spoodles on the Boardwalk. We had spent the day in Epcot and it was a pleasant boat ride from the International Gateway over to Boardwalk and into Spoodles!

We had our best meal of the trip there! We had great steaks with shrimp and scallops on the side. The salad was super and everyone loved the fried sweet potatoes. Try the white chocolate cake! It was the best!

We had fabulous service too! :earsboy:

We also did Hoop Dee Doo and enjoyed it! The family was not too happy to try it at first but once things got going the kids decided that someone had been taking notes on all the craziness of our family and had put a character on the stage for each member of our family! The kids laughed so hard the cried! It was a nice meal and a great show! I especially liked the ribs!

We were also informed that my parents now hold the record for the longest marriage anniversary that they have ever had celebrated at the show, 67 years!! The singers came to the table and sang "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" to my parents and they sang right along! It was great fun! :cheer2:
 
Our best meal on our trip in Oct was at Marakesh. Very good food. Fun atmosphere. Hoop-dee-doo was okay IMO, we probably won't do that one again. I haven't tried some of the others on your list (I would like to!) but I found that I made alot of adrs that I didn't use because we were too busy to take the time to eat a long meal, plus travel time to and from restaurants can really take away from time in the parks. I would definately decide which parks on which days and then choose food accordingly.
 
What I would suggest (and this is how I determined where we'd go) is to check out the menus on All Ears - especially the signature restaurants that you would need 2 credits for on the regular dining plan. If you see any that sound interesting those are the ones I would try, in case you decide you hate the Premium Plan, then you've at least tried all the expensive restaurants when they were included in your plan.

When we did the Gold (aka Premium) and Platinum plans, I did schedule every single meal. I tried to schedule them 8 hours apart. You will be sick of food sooner or later, but it is a lot of fun to try all the different restaurants.

Also, if you're planning on any tours or Cirque, make sure you schedule your dining around that. Isn't planning fun?

Excellent advice! I'd eat at as many 2 credit restaurants as I could find just to try them out. Unless you plan on doing premium every time. For us, it will be a once in a lifetime kind of thing, so I'm going to take full advantage.
