I've figured out why Barb and Tony take so many cruises

We just returned from our 1st cruise, the infamous "According to Jim" cruise. On both the formal and semi formal nights we dressed up and lined up for our formal shots. Both times we went to shutters the next day and found our shots and Sandy didn't like one thing or another about each photo so we dressed again for another round. Thats when it hit me, Barb and Tony are trying to get that perfect shot and just keep going back to try ;)

Anyway if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. It was a wonderful experience and yes we rebooked for next year while onboard.

Glad to hear you booked for next year!:D

If it's not the pictures, it'll be another entree "no, I ordered the filet, we'll just have to book next year so I can try the lobster, " or "we shopped in St. Thomas, so we'll have to come back next year to do the shore excursions," etc, etc.

There will ALWAYS be a reason to return, (of course, the obvious..once you've done DCL, you have to do AGAIN AND AGAIN!):p

I think it's because she hasn't found anything with her "little black light" on the ship and she's still searching!

For those who don't know what that's about - Barb will have to explain!!!

OK, I'll bite. Why do you call the trip the Infamous According to Jim cruise? Didn't you like it? If not, why?
Thanks, Renae

NO- by infamous I mean that wherever we went people were referring to the cruise as the "According to Jim" cruise, instead of the 1/17/04 Disney Magic. They were pretty good at staying out of the way. The first taste of them that we got was the sail away party. They (show crew) tried to keep a pocket of room around the stars during this segment and a lot of people felt that they were abusing their power to control an area for themselves. They had alot of area on deck 10 roped off and then they started taking more and more during the sail away party on deck 9. I and my 2 children had been standing at the railing next to the stage, just then Jim Belushi comes on stage and starts dancing. All of a sudden he's doing the bump with Goofy and he's slams him off the stage.(turns out it's part of the act, believe me, no one was ready for it, the crew member that was put there to catch Goofy had turned around to move some children when Goofy landed on his back and he fell onto the 2 children along with Goofy. They didn't stop filming and he did it 4 more times but none as forceful as the first time. Everyone was O.K. ( no children were injured during the filming of this episode ;) ). The good part is that it all happened about 2 feet in front of us with no one else between us and the actors so I'm sure we'll be in that scene.

I was wondering.....did they make you sign any release forms .....just in case you happen to be in one of their scenes that make it into the show?

Of course!! At the tables just atop the escalators. I wonder if they'd let you cruise if you declined. I'm sure we made it into the scene, all 5 takes were done at the same time and we were right there front and center, and the scene is pivotal to the plot. Jim's family is hired to do a commercial on the ship and Jim's antics get him fired and replaced by another dad for the commercial(Ingo Rademacher, Jasper Jax, from General Hospital) Lets just say my wife was happy to see him around the ship.

:rotfl: too funny!! :rotfl:
I like their pictures, but maybe they are looking for the perfect one!

Hi Mark!

We must have been standing very near you at the sail away party! We were front and center along the railing, trying to get a good view of Mickey Mouse for my son. All of a sudden Jim B. is "wrestling" with goofy right in front of us and then he pushes him down the steps! I hope we didn't get on camera because I'm sure I looked shocked for awhile until I caught on that it was part of the act! It was fun to watch!!

No, but it is still the fault of Shutters.
They keep changing the background/border for the embarkation shot, so we keep having to go back to get a new one!
