We just returned from a week at the WL. I had never stayed there before, but I will be back! It is a beautiful resort. Our vacation was delayed a few days due to Frances, but it was worth the wait.
I was a bit concerned about going to WDW right after Frances passes by, but you would never know that a hurricane had been there just a couple of days ago. The lodge lanterns that hang outside remained tied up after Frances incase Ivan hit central FL, but were let down on Monday. There were many trees down on WDW property, but all guest areas showed no sign of damage from Frances. The path from WL to FW was closed shortly after our arrival and we were told that FW (except for the Hoop-Dee-Doo) was also closed incase Ivan headed towards central FL. That meant no petting zoo or movies at FW. I am not sure when or if FW opened up again.
I haven't stayed at a deluxe resort in many years. WL is truely a deluxe resort. I have stayed at the Polynesian many times and WL ranks right up there at the top with the Polynesian. The location on Bay Lake is great. We loved taking the boat to MK. The courtyard is geourgous! The stream flowing from the lodge to the pool and beyond is so pretty. We spent a few late nights at the pool and in the hot tubs - so relaxing! I have stayed at Mt. Rainier's lodge, Paradise Lodge, and WL reminded me a lot of it. It is the real thing!
We had our 1 1/2 yr old son with us and it was the perfect resort for him. He loved running across the bridge in the lobby and pushing the elevator buttons. On the way to the buses there are some cow bells hanging near the lodge that he had to ring every time we passed them. He had a blast running around and loved the baby pool.
I would highly reccommend WL to anyone. I can't wait to return!

Ain't it the truth!!

We own at the Villas and looooove them. I love the hustle-bustle of the main Lodge, but it's also so nice to be able to "retreat" to the peace of the Villas.
