Or at least all my plans have! We were flying Transmeridian in 3 weeks time, and as you know, they went bankrupt on Thursday. Literally every plan I have made in the last 6 months had to be changed. We were flying in to Sanford, now it will be MCO, and we are going a day earlier than planned (saved $800. US in airfare to go a day early!) so we had to change the rental car location and dates, had to book an extra day hotel in Orlando, had to change the date for hotel the night before departure. Our friends elected to come a day later than planned, rather than earlier like we did, so now the park we planned to do on Sat. may change (and my ADR at CRT) because they will have to be at the airport at 4:30 AM and probably won't feel like skipping aroung MK until 10:00 PM to see Spectro & Wishes. May make more sense to do that on Wed when they are open late again, but we planned on being at US for the day, and WCC for supper. AAAAHHHHHH!

On the bright side you gained a day at Disney, saved money, and have a closer drive from the airport.

Sorry to hear about CRT. Can you do the fireworks on one of your other nights so you don't have to stay late the night before they leave?

I didn't save any money. It would have been $1100 MORE to fly on the day we originally planned, but be going a day early, it only cost $300. more.

Don't come too far undone...just pretend this is a last minute trip you're planning;)

Oh Sorry about that. Read it wrong.

It would definitly be stressing to have to change all your plans 3 weeks before your trip.

Since you were flying Transmeridian,I'm assuming you were flying out of Syracuse?
If so, did you try Jet Blue ?
I dont know your exact dates but you can get a flight from Syracuse to MCO for $288 (US incl tax)
and if you don't mind the extra drive....
Rochester to MCO using Air Tran for $240 (US incl tax)
The dates I plugged in for these prices was Oct 22 to 29.

wee-haggis, we are flying JetBlue now. To go on our original date, the fare for just the SYR to MCO portion was $339. By going the day before we ended up with $139. for the flight down and $119. for the flight home. JetBlue is the airline I wanted to fly on anyway, TMA just had better prices and flight times for our dates, and it was a direct flight.

We're booked for Tma flights too!! Did you get your money back already? Does Jet blue fly direct? I'm so bummed right now about this!! :guilty:

The whole TMA thing bummed me too. We were booked for 10/24, RFD to SFB, returning 10/30. Now, we're flying Northwest, same dates, but twice the $$ and a connection in Detroit. Our airport is offering a $100.00 cash rebate for each ticket so that's some consolation, but that TMA flight was SO convenient. They seem pretty confident that they'll be able to replace the route with another carrier soon. On the plus side, I called for my ADR's today and got everything I wanted. The CM said she was glad I called early, she had been telling people all morning that everything was booked through 10/15!

No, I didn't get my money back yet, but my Visa rep gave me a "case number" the first time I contacted them. I faxed a copy of my itinerary to them immediately, and then I faxed them a copy of the news release where it says " All flight operations have been terminated" and to "contact your travel agent or credit card company". I was hoping that since the company has already notified us that the flights have been cancelled that they would be able to refund right away, but they say they can't until the flight times have passed. Doesn't make sense to me...

We were also flying TMA in March 06.,I called Jetblue and explained the situation to them and they turned around and discounted the flights for us, we are now only paying $63.40 per leg taxes included. Turned out to be $35.00 less per person than TMA. :cool1:

siobhan1997, that is amazing! Do you happen to have the name of the person you spoke with at JetBlue? I booked mine over the phone, and told my rep the sad, sad story, but didn't get any discount. Maybe if I call again they will offer me something! How long ago did you make your JetBlue reservations?
