the hotels are still overpriced -- but as you said, the tickets are in-line with many other entertainment options.

Honestly, there are very affordable rooms at Disney World, try finding rooms near Disneyland, even many off-site hotels are more expensive in Anaheim than many onsite hotels at Disney World, especially with the value resorts.
