I've booked (and now made changes - already)

For Sept/October 2011 school hols - WDW.

Here is the summary so far....
I decided on Coronado Springs, 14 nights, with free dining. I know that that period will be shortened by a day or two, perhaps three. The lady at DW said I keep free dining though if it shortens as long as we start before 29 September IYKWIM.

If DNeice comes and we end up in DL we get our deposit back without any penalty.

I booked DD as a 10 year old, even though she will be 9 because of the free dining. That way she gets to choose from adult menus if she wants. It's the regular dining so one sit down and one quick service per day.

Congratulations on going with CSR! You must be pleased with the decision especially knowing that you can get your deposit back, no penalty!

I think knowing I can get my deposit back is what truely made the decision for me to book. I know we're going away, and it's 50/50 for DN coming. I didn't want to miss free dining, doing some quick maths it's about $1400 saving, especially as I can book DD through as a $10 year old, only adding about $30 to the price (for the adult ticket). So I thought book and if we don't head over the other side that's ok because I'll get the $$ back and use it for DL!!!

If we're heading to Orlando we don't want it to be quick, rather 10-14 days. DN won't be able to be away from home for that long hence DL only.

In under 24 hours we've made our first change. I can't believe it. I read Kyl's notes about her check in at CSR, then had a look at Trip Advisor, and thought about it, and thought some more. I've changed to Port Orleans French Quarter. (which was going to be our first choice.) Already. One day into the booking.

We had a chat that if the double bed proved too uncomfortable I would share a bed with DD. The bed size is what changed our mind to CSR in the first place, so now we're back to plan one.

I'm going to be staying at CSR in about a week. I've deliberately not read any of the reviews as I can't do anything about choice of resort for this trip. Still, I shouldn't complain as DH is going there for a convention and his company is paying for the accommodation.

DH and I aren't vertically challenged and I'd like to think that we were about average sized, so the double beds at POR were okay. I thought they were comfortable; but then most days, we'd come back and crash....so it could have been bed of nails but I would probably still have not noticed.

But it is going to be an interesting week for resort comparing for me. We really loved POR and BCV....and it is going to be interesting to be at a moderate with queen beds; and convention guests going about. Actually, I just remembered that DH requested a room with a King bed.

We caught the boat down to DTD from POR one night and POFQ looked fabulous. I'm sure you'll be happy with your choice.

I think POFQ is beautiful. I haven't told DD much yet, but she has seen pics when I've done some general browsing and she has been (think like an 8 year old girl) "Ooohhhhhh" "aaaaahhhhh" "OMG OMG OMG."

I'm thinking I'll end up with around 1500 changes Typical for me. Just look at my last two trips But I think there will be a lot of changing occuring when you can book so far out.
