Wow I hadn't really realised how long it's been since I've been on the boards , but oh my days , I need to get back on here if only to take my mind off things.
Long story short:
I've been complaining about damp in our bungalow since 2010 , and I've kept getting fobbed off and basically ignored , by our Housing association,
My husbands carer returned to work after nearly a year off and was shocked at how bad it had gotten so he decided to help us get it sorted.
The Housing association have been out and have now agreed we do have a problem
....
great you might think???
But NO! we have been told that it has been caused by some sort of leak or water under the floor , and they now have to take up all of the floors , rip the bathroom and kitchen out and take all the plaster off of the walls!
We have to move out while they do this , and we will only know how long it will take to dry out and fix once the floors are up .
It could be up to 6 months !
To make life that little bit harder , as some of you may know my Husband has Cerebral Palsy and uses a large electric wheelchair ,and we need major adaptions done to any property we live in .
Properties like ours are like god dust and we have not seen another one like ours in our area come up for 4 years!
We are definitely going to be in our temporary accommodation, during the time of our WDW trip in Sept/Oct , and by the looks of it be there for Xmas too!
This is an ironic mirroring of our 2011 trip when, our friend who is coming with us Thom's house had the same problem from a leaky pipe and had to co-ordinate building work here in Cornwall from our Hotel room!
I'm off to bury my head in some trip reports for a while , I need my brain to switch off for a bit from all this stress!
