I've been bit!!!

Well it's that time of the year.
We went to the park and i got bit on the ankle buy some horrible bug!!!!
So now i have a swollen ankle
does anybody know of anything that has prevented them from getting bit that actually works as this seems to happen every year now?
Any help would be appreciated as i'm sure there are more to come

Ouch that doesn't sound very nice, I swell up really bad with any bites have you taken any anti histamine? I always buy the extra strength (Caribbean) repellent and it does work abroad but I normally forget over here

you have my sympathy...i get terrible itchiness and swelling if i get bit !! i hope tou get some releif soon x x x

Hope it gets better soon...the itching from bites drives me insane! No matter what I use I still get eaten alive. Bvitamin complex works for some/or marmite...not spread on but eaten apparently it has a compond that they don't like very much.

I've not suffered like that but it seems daily I get bitten just walking down the garden, little red bumps appear that itch like crazy so I put some bite/sting cream on that stops it itching so I don't scratch and make myself bleed. Which in turn leaves horrible scaby legs. Yuk.

We always use Avons skin so soft. It has a nice smell and has worked for us when we go to Florida.

thanks everybody yes i have to take antihistamines daily and i know what you mean when you forget to use stuff like that over here
i might try the avon skin so soft as i forget to moisturise and end up loosing any tan that i get so i can kill two birds with one stone.

We have used Skin So Soft at the Kissimmee Rodeo (imagine the numbers of flys and bugs there at night) and none of us ever got bit

One word of warning about it, don't get it on bathroom floors as it turns them into a skating rink

I usually get bitten by the Scottish "midgie" around this time of year up here.
May and June are bad for them !!

Try calamine lotion - that sometimes helps
