I have really fallen off the band wagon and gained back most of the weight I lost:(
However, I have made a new promise to myself I am determined to keep.
So starting today, I am back to sensable eating and exercising everyday:D
Good work to all of you who have stuck to your goals and made them happen! I'll be there with you soon!

I've been missing you, sweetie. Jen is right, we saved your place. I'm so glad to see you here again.

Shall I change your start date on our roster?

Thanks for saving my spot :D
You can just keep the same start date for me Katholyn, thanks for offering to change it!

I've missed you guys too :D

Perdido,
We are singing the same tune. I, too, have re-gained and resolved! I really need support! Would you be my butt kicker? I need it. Someone to say "Hey, Trace! Isn't it about time you get off your suzy homemaker kick, and get to the gym so you can lose that gunk around your waist?" I give permission to any and all. Take off those gloves folks! Give me your best shot, PLEASE!

Keeping the Faith!
Tracy

Glad you guys are back and ready to begin again. You can do it!

Don't forget that you need WISH even more if you are having troubles keeping on track. Next time, come talk to us sooner. We are here for you!

We can get there together!!!
GO GIRL!!!!

OK. I didn't formally get to the gym today, but I did go with DD to the Zoo for a field trip, and man we hauled! My heels hurt from pounding the pavement. I also stayed OP (so far), and feel pretty good. I wasn't going to go today, but I made myself do it, and now I'm done! (If I were the old me, I'd get to the gym with the 1.5 hrs. I have left before the kiddies get home, but I do need to tidy up before DH gets back.) Perdi, What's your story? Thanks for the kick in the butt. ;)

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

Hey Tracy, I think if you did the zoo today you probably got quite a workout!

I have been 25+ lbs overweight for the past 4 years. I'm 46 and my weight has been slowly creeping up since I went thru menopause at 40.
I'd get semi-motivated, lose 5-10 lbs and then go right back to my bad old eating habits.
I started dieting in Oct of 01, weight then 155 lbs, because I was going on my first ever cruise in Jan of 02. That motivated me to lose 15 lbs. But they slowly creep back on. Since then I have been up and down 5-10 lb since then. Right now I am at 146 and my final goal is 125. That is a healthy weight for me. I am 5'2". I am going at it the old fashioned way...eating sensably and exercising.
If I go on a diet that keeps me from eating a certain type of food, I feel deprived and go right off it. So I eat what I want, try to eat good food and count calories. I usually have about 1300 cal. a day. My biggest problem is my sweet tooth! The longer I stay away from candy though, the easier it is.
How about your story?

Perdi

My story? Um, well, I need to lose about 30 lbs. I have always been a bit on the slim side, but after having kids, my body just liked being 142. (I'm 5'4") I didn't really like it, but I was still able to do things that I did in my thinner skin. About 3 years ago, I moved to the "Unhealthiest city" in the nation and am becoming part of the statistic. I now weigh 158ish. I never really dieted, then I came across WISH in Feb '03. My DH had recently been diagnosed type 2 diabetic, and health became an issue. With the help of his new motivation, and WISH, I managed to get back down to 146! Then came summer, and in-laws and a son who does the lawn mowing (my old job), and beer and margaritas. And 15 lbs! I am depressed about my inability to keep my husband on track (He lost 60 lbs and has gained back 40!), and I keep starting my diet "tomorrow". I never really drink alcohol during the school year, except for wine with dinner, so that will help. I really have made some great lifestyle changes since joining WISH, and, for the most part, they are working. My biggest problem is I need to exercise. I need to get back into my groove, and it is a groove I like. I don't loath exercise. Quite the opposite, but I just havn't been making it a priority, and now my once smooth leggs are puckering, and my waist, which no matter how large I seemed to get, was always slender, is now a spare tire, like right after you have a baby. I don't like it, and as you know, every year that passes makes it harder to see the results you want, because there are too many other factors working against you. So I am starting again to incorporate activity into my day. I'd really like it if I had a partner with me, but DH is gone more than he's here, and the kids all have "other" things, and I basically have made no friends since moving here, so I'm kind of on my own. WAAAAAAAH! Anyway, I'm really relying on my WISH friends to fill that void. I do have trouble balancing the time I spend here with the time I could be active, but mayby that will work itself out. Anyway, that's my story. Let's get things rolling and shed those pounds!

Keep the Faith!

Well, you came to right place Tracy :D
You've got tons of freinds here!
I'm like you, I like to exercise, but it's getting into the habit that's hard for me...
I have done my tae-bo (which I love) for 5 days straight now, and am easing back into that exercise routine mind-set.
How how I miss margaritas! I usually have 1-3 drinks a weekend, but I am not having any till I get near my goal. I keep thinking of those empty calories! Wine is very good for you...don't deny yourself that!
I will be out of town (and without computer acess) from tomorrow morning till Monday morning, so I am sending you lots of motivation now, to last thru the weekend. YOU CAN DO IT...... I will be back to see how well you did on Monday.... because I KNOW you will have stuck to it!
Be good and take care,
MJ

Hoping your trip is pleasure and you have fun. Thanks for the motivation. I'll need it. Going to grandmas and celebrating 2 birthdays. MMMMM! CAAAAKE! (As TigH would say, think Homer Simpson!)

Keep the Faith!
