It is 5 days and it's been 5 days for quite some time so that would be 120 hours BUT you will NOT lose your deposit if you reschedule because it can be applied to your rescheduled trip. We did this last year.

You're forgiven jwfla422. Have a bit on your mind do you? ;)

I have a question about supplies in orlando.
I've been reading places that there have been shortages
for perishable goods, and gas.

Is that happening in orlando?
Just wondering because we like to rent a car, and wondering
if there will be problems filling up the gas tank.

Plus, we like to stop at the grocery store for some snacks,
fruit, milk etc.
Are people having a rough time finding things?
Are the disney restaraunts, or fast food places being
limited by any food shortages?

Just wondering.
We are heading out the next week, after ivane is suppose
to have gone by. I'm hoping it avoid orlando, it would be
awesome if it just skipped florida somehow.

Thanks,
Connie

We are heading to WDW from Toronto on the 16th and I am not thinking of canceling at this point. We will play it by ear. We are so looking forward to our trip and believe (as others have mentioned) that if we can go we should go and spend, spend, spend. Every little bit will help the economy.
I am hopeful that Ivan makes a turn somewhere and leaves Florida in peace.
So many things go through your mind. Even if Florida gets missed, where will it go and who will be impacted? Also, if it heads this way, as many of them do (lucky for us usually only as storms), will our airports be grounded anyways?
So many things to consider...

Hope all is well in Florida.

Hmm.... We're scheduled to arrive on the 15th in the evening (9PM or so...)

According to the latest map from NOAA.gov, it looks like it will be well away from WDW by that time. But since I've never even been within 1000 miles of a hurricane (give me earthquakes any day. :) ), I have no idea if this map REALLY means I will be OK for a Wed PM arrival...

I know it's a moving target... whaddayasay?

Thanks

We think we are canceling our trip. We were suppose to go Sunday the 12th but with Ivan we thought why spend the money and sit in the rain and even worse possibly a hurricane. there will be rain before and after probably.

Honestly, the tracks of Ivan's possible paths are chaging almost hourly. When I left work at 4:30pm EST it was heading right at Tampa. They have already closed the schools in our county on Monday 09/13. Rumors are flying that gas stations are running out of gas, milk is almost gone from stores....it is very nerve wracking and alot of us down here are scared.
It could change again, and probably will, let's hope farther away from Florida.

Actually, typically, the weather is eerily beautiful after a hurricane.

Unless there's another one on the horizon... a la Frances, a la Ivan.....

Well, the weather here has been far from beautiful after the hurricanes. It has been overcast, rainy, hot and very humid. Far from beautiful if you ask me and I am living it.

As of Saturday morning, Ivan appears to be drifting further west. Surprisingly, Ivan did not directly hit Jamaica. It appears as though, for now, it will not directly impact WDW, but PD goes out to the people of Cuba and those along the Gulf coast.

There is still a large margin for error with Ivan. No one in FL is relaxing just yet.

Just my two cent. My daughter and family(3 young children) were down in
WDW for Charley....they were at the parks for 1/2 Friday. Hurrican hit Fri night, back at the park 10AM Sat morning..so they lost 1/2 day at the parks thats all. Lost no power and the other family members that stayed off did lose power but left MCO with a little delay on Sat PM Jet Blue. It seems like only like to post all the negative stuff.:earsgirl:

Glad to hear that your family had a great vacation during Charley. Keep in mind that many many people were affected by Charley. I don't want a weekend like that again.

Just something to keep in mind. The day after the hurricane passes there are usually a lot of tornado warnings. At least that was the way it was with Frances. Also, if you are staying at a Disney resort, once the storm begins you will be in a lockdown situation. They sandbag the doors and nobody gets out. We've also had curfews after each hurricane. No ideal for vacationing.

Ok so we rescheduled for the 15th-19th. and I was so surprised how hard it was to do!!Everything was booked!!!! Well here is hopping that Ivan doesnt hurt anyone!!

We went ahead and rescheduled......didn't want to take a chance leaving the girls. Now, Ivan looks like he may want to visit us at home :(

Well, we've always wanted to go to MNSSHP.....so we'll be celebrating our "honeymoon" a month late with the girls. Life could be worse ;)

Good luck to everyone with their decisions ~ And with alot of prayers maybe Ivan will go away!!!!!!

It is just that there is more negative than positive surrounding these storms. Your family was lucky to not have lost electric, I read that some of the WDW resorts did for a while. I also read that some of them closed down the food courts & were serving bagged meals. I read that the GF had a limited menu, so not everything was up & running to the fullest just prior & after the storm. WDW parks were closed for more than 1/2 day after Frances. The airport closed for what....about 2 & 1/2 days... All that we are saying is that you are taking a chance & is it worth it? Would your family have enjoyed it if their flight was canceled for 2 days & the resort told them that they couldn't stay because the rooms were sold out for the next few days?? I don't want to sound nasty but that is something that could have happened to them. I know if I am spending a lot of money on a vacation, I don't want to have to worry about not being able to enjoy myself while there.

We decided NOT to reschedule and are down at the BCV right now waiting to watch Illumniations from our room. We even capitalized on someone cancelling Cindy's Table Monday morning!

It's very quiet down here.

Ivan seems to think that since the rest of the state has gotten nailed by hurricanes, it might as well get the Panhandle too. Watching and waiting to see what to do, as well as the rest of Florida. The computer models (which are not guarranteed!) keep changing and moving everything west. Landfall at this moment in time is projected at Panama City. I'm sure it will be different tomorrow, probably over us. Louisiana is now in the projected path, which it hasn't been before today.

But at least all of you who were hit by Frances and Charley will be spared this one, hopefully!
