Finally have access to the internet at work. It was/is bad. For pictures:

George and Jeb were here yesterday.

I've seen some of the largest cargo planes I've ever seen bringing in supplies.

Thanks for the help everyone!!!

Everyday gets a little better.

Steven,
I am glad to see you posting. I cannot believe the devastation up there. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

The devastation is just horrible. :(
Arent the cargo planes and army helicopters just wild??! They would go over our house it felt like a war zone.

Im so glad youre safe, those pictures are amazing!

Yes, I was looking at these pix earlier. Terrible, terrible, destruction.

Fort Morgan is underwter now and it looks like some of the Fort broke apart.

How is your house?

Steve, I'm in Navarre and have been trying to access those pictures but can't. It says to click on the thumbnails to see the galleries, but it won't come up.

I thought it might be my settings, but have no idea how to correct them.

Is everyone else able to access them?

Steve, how did your house fare in Pcola? Ours in Navarre had minor damage, lost my a/c and some appliances. Guess that's the upside to living in a Henry Home subdivision, where they clearcut all the trees before building.

Those on the south of 98 didn't fare so well. A couple of homes in the subdivision where were are building cracked in 1/2, because the water washed out the soil from underneath the house. An amazing amount of stuff has washed up over here, all the way from Navarre beach, probably 3 miles to the south!

I feel blessed that I have my home, even thought I still only have power from a generator and am taking cold showers. At least we are in the South where it's hot, and those cold showers almost feel good! ;)

We had very minor damage compared to what can be seen in the photos. Had an oak tree poke a small hole through the roof in one of the kids bedrooms. Just glad we weren't at home during the storm.

We're just inconvenienced, others are left with nothing.

Inland, most of the damage appears to be caused by trees falling on houses, as opposed to just wind damage. I've seen houses practically buried in giant fallen pines.

Today was the first day I was able to see the photos of the coast and the downtown area. Really makes you ache inside.

wow, those pictures are amazing. How sad, such devastation. there is the one picture of the truck in the pool, I can't even imagine how that truck got there. The force and power of the storm is unimagineable.:(

From you!;) Sorry to see the Damage Ivan left behind, he was a terror wasn't he? Now we have another storm to look out for.

The whole thing makes my heart hurt. I can't imagine what you guys are dealing with. Please know you are in the entire country's thoughts. I'm so sorry this has happened so many times.

So glad you're safe.

You and the people of these affected areas are still in my prayers.

The kids at school and the church youth group are putting together cleaning supplies to be sent down. There has also been donations to the red cross.

People are doing what they can to help and we also continue to pray.

Glad to hear you made it thru H. Ivan safetly, Steven. Thanks for sharing those pics.

Bumping cuz there are new pix posted on hte pensacola website.

So glad you and your family came through Ivan safely, Steven. Do you know if the Pensacola Yacht Club came through it okay or not? I've heard several different things - one, that the building was wiped out, then someone said they thought they hadn't had that much damage. (The Yacht Club I manage is a member of the Gulf Yachting Association and a lot of the Pensacola members come to our club to race sailboats). Seeing the damage of the area brings back vivid memories of the Mississippi Gulf Coast (Gulfport and Pass Christian) where hurricane Camille came ashore in l969. My prayers are with everyone in the area.

Has anyone heard about the fate of the truck driver on Hwy 10 bridge. My heart breaks for his/her family.....:(

The body of the truck driver was recovered in the water. They also sent divers down to look for any other vehicles which might have went over.

My dad drove down to Sanders Beach which is not too far from the Yacht Club. Said it was bad down there. You can bet that anything along the waterfront really took a pounding.

GOD BLESS HIM..:sad1:

Steve, glad you and your family are okay. We had minor damage here as we have very few trees in our subdivision. Our coastal areas (Gulf Shores & Orange Beach) look like a war zone from the photos I've seen. My inlaws own a condo in Orange Beach (phoenix development) and they have yet to be able to go and view it. DH and I came through Pensacola on the way back from Jacksonville (where we evacuated) and just the stuff we saw even inland was awful. We have been very lucky as far as utilities, all of ours are now up and running. DH"s grandparents live about 4 miles up the road, and they just got power yesterday.
