Today we woke up and checked on Ivan. Where is he going, and will he strike Orlando? Doesn't really look like it. It is a little cloudy this morning and very humid, but no rain.
We got up around 8:30, ate breakfast in the room and were headed to MK around 9:30. We weren't too concerned about getting to the parks at opening. The crowds are so low you can take your time. We headed first to Buzz. I love this ride, but seem to always do terrible. My gun was broke this time, really. Stephen thought I was just bad, but it really didn't work. It would only shoot once every ten or so squeezes. Pathetic. So, we go again. This time the ride breaks down toward the end, right in front of the big Zurg on the right. There's a target on him, near the bottom, that gives you 10,000 or 100,000 points (I can't remember which). Well, we sat there so long that we both got 999,999. It was way fun, even if we were cheating.
From here we headed over to Mickey's Philharmagic. I could watch this show over and over again. It is so clear and so fun. Not many scary parts, and those aren't bad. It's just fun. Then we headed to the Haunted Mansion, another walk-on. Then BTMR and Splash. We rode Splash with a family of Mom, dad, and two grown sons with their wives. The boat was riding a little low, and we got pretty wet. It was fun and they were having a great time. We ate lunch at Pecos Bill with fries from the McD's fry cart outside. We love doing this. Then we continued around Adventureland, Main Street for some shopping (no buying though), back to Tomorrowland, over to Liberty Square, Frontierland and then a Dole Whip. This was the only night we were there that Spectro was running, so we sat down about an hour early to get a seat. We sat in Liberty Square, across from the Liberty Tree. Good seats.
Then we walked through the hub and went down the walkway to Tomorrowland so we'd be right under Tinkerbell when she flew during Wishes. I couldn't see the wire, but I knew I was in the right place. But, she didn't fly. I figured they took it out of Wishes, but I was proved wrong later in the week. I was disappointed, but you can't stay that way when watching this fireworks show. It's so great. Stephen even loved it. He's always been an Illuminations guy, but Wishes bumped it out of first place.
We sat down near the rose garden and then wandered out after the Kiss Goodnight. The line for the Boardwalk bus was very long, but the Swan/Dolphin/Yacht/Beach Club was not. So we hopped on that one. We were planning on going to Beaches and Cream to get Stephen a malt, so that saved us a little walking.
It's a little after 10, and we are getting Stephen's favorite Boardwalk snack, a malt from B&C. Then we wandered back toward the Boardwalk and in bed by 11:00.
Stay tuned for tomorrow: Ivan or No Ivan or I just really want a Mr. Pibb!!!
