1. Can you download songs from Itunes without having an Ipod?

2. If you do the above, can the songs then be burned to CD?

Yes and Yes.

Each download purchased can be burned to a CD up to seven times.

You can also 'rip' CDs on iTunes (copy them), listen to digital radio and watch movie trailers.
