I have all of the old podcasts on my Itunes and as many as my Ipod will hold on it. Somehow a bunch of the podcasts ended up in my Music folder on my Ipod instead of in the Podcasts folder. I can't figure out how to get them to the Podcast area where they belong. Any one know how to move them?

I think you just drag it from one folder to the other and drop it there. So you would have the music list showing and put the curser on the podcast you want to move and drag it to "podcast" and drop it there. Let me know if you have sucess with it!

I never have figured this out - when you direct download the podcast file. What I do to get around this is to go to iTunes and click "get episode" and that puts it in the podcast library.

You can also create a "podcast" playlist and dump the files there.

I would love to know of a better solution - that does not involve editing the xml library file.

Do you subscribe to the Podcast? I do and it downloads automatically. I then "get" it and then just drag it to my ipod and drop in the poscast catagory. Its simple and takes about 2 seconds.

I had one the other day do that, you can drag it to the podcast folder, then check that it is there, then delete it from the other file. It only needs to be in your library, dont be afraid to delete it from the music folder, it will still be in the librbay and then you can move it to the iPod podcast area. Hope that makes sense.

I tried clicking and dragging and it didn't work. :confused3 I guess I will just have to listen those from my Music Folder! I like everything neat and orderly on my lists so this is just bugging me!

in my files, my podcast folder is actually in my iTunes music folder. But anyway...i run Windows XP in Classic and i really don't have experience with other operating systems, so i hope this helps!

Open the actual folder that contains the files - NOT iTunes, the actual folder on your hard drive. (So probably C:\Administrator\My Documents\My Music or something along those lines)

You can cut & paste the files like you would text - press and hold the ctrl key and "click" "click" "click" on each file. Using the ctrl key will allow you to select more than one file at a time (also works in iTunes; very helpful if you manually control your library and need to add multiple files).

Then right click ---> select "cut". The files should appear dimmed, because they've been "cut" from that location.

Go to your podcast folder, and in some white space right click, then select "paste". Your files should appear!!

Make sure that they've actually been cut from the Music folder - sometimes the computer will choose to just copy the files instead of just moving them.

You will need to tell iTunes that you moved the location of these files, which you can do by A) deleting all of the files on iTunes and then using "add folder" to add them from the right location or B) clicking on the little exclamation point that will appear next to the name of the podcast when you try to play it, and re-adding each individual one.

Hope this helps!! :flower3: Feel free to PM me if you still have questions! (or others...take advantage of the computer nerd while you can, hahah)
