Both my dd's got an ipod touch for Christmas. Before Christmas I had already setup the itune account and Christmas day I had helped my oldest dd set her up using the itune account I already had and my husband was helping my youngest dd set hers up but he set it up with her own itune account. They both got itune gifts cards for Christmas and he put the smallest amount 10.00 on her account. She has gone through that card I was wondering if I can change her over to the account I had already setup so both daughters can use some of the same things without buying 2x. If I cancel her account and add her to the other will she lose all her music and apps?

If on the same computer they should be able to manually sync the songs they want from the library. If separate computers set up "home sharing" and you can import from one to the other library.

Oh, good thank you. So now can you explain how to sync? I am very computer illiterate :rotfl: Also the ipod my husband setup he setup the itune account through the ipod and not on the computer so if that ipod has games and songs that my other dd wants can I sync those?

I'm not at home where I can look at my library but you need to attach your ipod to your computer and open up your itunes, then click on the side your ipod device then scroll down the page and choose options.

I'm sure someone else on this board could spell it out better (really need to see my library to help on this). In regards to your husband I'm not sure how you can sync things from his ipod to the others.

You need to authorize the second account on your computer. I don't have iTunes on my computer at work but I think under Store there is setting authorize computer, and then you can add in the other Apple ID. Once you do that you can sign into the iTunes store under that ID and download all the apps bought under that account (with no extra charge).

Yep, I'm bumping up a 6 month old thread with a question. :)

I've had an Ipod touch for 2 years and have a bunch of movies, music and apps in my itunes account. I think we're going to buy my soon to be 11 year old his own Ipod touch for his birthday next month. If I'm understanding what I just read, I can put him on my account and set it so he has to manually sync what he wants and this way he'd be able to access the movies & music. My question is about the apps....I don't want him touching all my angry birds and draw something apps (:rotfl2: that's so pathetic!) so how does that work? If he is able to put it on his ipod from my itunes, would he have his own game or would he be playing on mine?

Does this:

mean I should set him up with his own account just to buy apps, but he'd still be able to log in on my computer for the music and movies? Wish I wasn't so technologically challenged!

Once you sync the apps on his ipod they essentially start over....so he wouldnt be messing with "your" games on birds and draw...Not sure about the sceond ID thing...
