It's too soon for Christmas!!! Arrrgghhhh!!!

Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I LOVE Christmas!!! I'ts my favorite time of the year, and I love all the traditions that come with it. But the commercial industry is pushing it too far...IMHO!!!

Just one week ago, I walk into our local K-Mart........and the Christmas trees are up!!! It wasn't even October yet!!! Gosh, I can remember all department stores not getting their christmas items until a week before ( sometimes after!! ) Thanksgiving. And just now, on the PBS station, Jay Jay the Jet Plane was airing their Christmas episode!!!!! What is going on??!?!?!?!?!

They do condition us too. Just last week, I went to Wal-Mart and they were putting out the Christmas decorations. I remember thinking that they were awfully behind this year!

Hey...it's late here...usually Christmas stuff is starting to come out in July around here in some stores....and we ain't talkin' for those "Christmas in July" people...it's there until the day after Christmas!!!

I haven't seen much change in any stores I visit, but indeed, it is too soon to be putting up Christmas things.

Retailers have done away with backrooms. Therefore, in times past the Christmas stuff would go into the back room and not be put up until after Halloween. Without a backroom, the stuff has to go on the floor as it arrives.

Consumers must take some of the blame for this also...if there was not a demand for buying it at this time of the year, the stores wouldn't feature it so early.

Yeah I too think it is a bit early for Christmas stuff. I am in no mood for Christmas this year - I can barely afford to pay my bills let along get family gifts. This year it will suck. Bah Humbug!!!!

I play Christmas music whenever I get in the mood for it, too. I found this summer particularly hot, & I think all those songs of sleighbells & snow helped to keep me cool!

I'm ready, bring on the Christmas stuff!

I thought the same thing when I went shopping last week. Its too early for me to think about Christmas and there won't be anything left when I get in the spirit.
