Its Time, Hockey Fans!!!

They just reported that Joe Thornton had torn cartilage in his rib cage and should have been out for 6 weeks. We knew he was injured but the Bruins wouldn't release details until now. Those hockey players are some tough guys!

Not to make excuses for anything, but sometimes I wonder if the players and coaching staff make the right decision for the team when players play with an injury that bad. I mean, if he should have been out for six weeks for it to heal, that has to be a pretty serious injury. He looked pretty good out there, but he didn't have any points in the series. When a player of Joe's caliber doesn't have any points in seven games, that makes a big difference.

Well, its a very sad day in my house. ;) Congrats to the Canadiens!

I could have told you what Joes injuries were a week or more ago one of my Managers at work is a great friend of Joe and his brother I knew all about it after it happened. He is one tough SOB that is for sure I give all hockey players credit playing through injuries like they do. Look at Begin for the habs head first into the boards in game 6 loses 4 teeth gets 35 stitches in his mouth and is back out for the third period. Yep we make tough athletes that play hockey not like some sports. Congrats to the BO SOX fans taking 3 of 4 from the Yanks hpefully they can beat them in the playoffs or better yet the Yanks won't make the post season.

First, to those Vancouver Canucks fans, your team certainly knows how to tease you. Score with 5.7 seconds to go in regulation and then to lose it in OT. Ouch! Can't fault Auld, he played great under back to back pressure games.

My hats off to Jarome Iginla of the Flames. 2 goals and an assist on the winning goal. That's coming through in the clutch. Detroit best be leary of this team.

And what do I say about the Canadiens? They dug deep after the embarrassing end to Game 4 and won the last three games. Two of them in Boston. Here's a team that now believes in itself and their goalie. Tampa Bay best be ready this Friday night.

And, let's not forget, there is another Game 7 to be played. The Battle of Ontario will conclude tonight. Much pride and honor will be shown. Can Belfour do it again? I don't know, the Senators are now very eager to get the Maple Leafs off their backs.

Philly is just waiting in the wings.

Oh, and to Big Dude, our Philly Fanatic, so sorry to hear of the loss of your Father. The prayers of the DIS hockey faithful go out to you and your family today.

Hey DSNY FN, congrats on the Habs victory! Wow, what an achievement to come back from a 3-1 deficit! And I agree with the comments re Joe Thornton; what a hero! He sure didn't deserve the bad press he received.

two4ruff, I felt for you when I heard about the Canucks losing! And after such a heartfelt plea! I was sure that would work and the Canucks would win!

And now for Game 7 for the battle of Ontario!!!! Everyone is wearing blue and white today and saying GO LEAFS GO (please!!!)!

GO LEAFS GO straight to the golf course do not pass the rink do not collect the stanley cup. HEHEHE I just couldn't help myself I had to say it. Thanks Lynda I am sure your hubby was extatic last night as I know both ScottWDW and I were

DSNY FN, I knew you were going to say something like that! Just try not to hex the Leafs too much tonight! Have some pity for us poor Leaf fans that have been waiting 37 years!!!!!

Yes, my DH was very happy about the Habs winning last night! That's the thing about Montreal! They always pull out these amazing victories with lots of drama and suspense, and often come up with miracles like winning the Stanley Cup!

GO LEAFS GO!!!!

What sport are the SENS playing tonight???? Man they are not doing very well....looks like it might be the LEAFS going on!!!

Awww, I do feel bad for the Sens. Ottawa is quite close to where I live and even though I was cheering for Toronto, I feel a bit sad for the Sens. I guess all the Sens flags that were up at my school will come down in the morning. There are still Leafs flags up though....and of course my Montreal flag :p

Well it's about time to start planning that Stanley Cup parade in downtown Toronto. The Leafs won, as should have been expected. Bring on the Flyers.

Did the Sens actually show up well the team did but they forgot something at the rink in Ottawa oh ya their goalie Lalime sucks. They should have traded for Kolzig he was available before the deadline they will hopefully remedy that mistake for next season.

YEAH LEAFS!!!!!
I am happy they won tonight...mostly because I don't know how I'd console my 10 yo DS if they lost. He had tears in his eyes when they lost the last game!
On to a new series!!

OK, who wants their team to win the Cup this year, and who is willing to pay the most for this to happen? Appearantly this year, any team I decide to root for will lose. You all know my beloved Bruins and Canucks lost on Monday night. I decided to root for the Sens last night, and they lost.

So, now, I am offering my services to the highest bidder. I will root for the team your team is playing against, and your team will go on to great things.

If no one wants my services, I will put all my energies into rooting for the Canadiens (sacralige!) and the Flames so that they lose in the second round!

Karen

No no....don't root for Montreal! We want them to win :p

Root for anyone but them..........payment of chocolate is in the mail ;)

Yahoo!!!! Leafs won! Oracle, you're right on re the parade!! Apparently the party last night on Yonge Street was pretty good too!

Go Leafs Go! The series with the Flyers should prove to be very entertaining!

Now now TLinden16 that is just plain wrong of you to try and besmearch(sp) my HABS it didn't work for you when you were capering them in game 6 and it won't work for you now hehehe. I was rooting for the SENS last nihgt to they played well as a team but damn they need a goalie I can't believe they didn't try to pick up Kolzig at the dealine he was available. Oh well Friday night is going to be great for hockey fans.

GO HABS GO GO HABS GO GO HABS GO

Well it's about time to start planning that Stanley Cup parade in downtown Toronto.

Don't Leaf fans do that every October or when their team wins 2 in a row? :teeth: :hyper: :p
