is there really any difference in eating a chocolate cupcake instead of a chocolate donut? Aren't they about equal on the scale of bad nutrition? It seems socially acceptable to eat the donut, but not the cupcake. Why!?! :confused3

Backing away from the cupcake on the counter...

Back in high school, my mom used to buy me 'microwave singles'...little individual cakes with frosting that took 2 minutes to make. That was my breakfast. Or we'd stop at the bakery on the way to school. NOT a habit I'll be starting w/my kids, and it took me awhile to start eating a normal breakfast when I was on my own. That being said...go have the cupcake!

I'm a huge fan of chocolate cake for breakfast so I'm probably the wrong one to ask. Not every day--although I would if I could, believe me.

If you want that cupcake--go for it!

So, I wasn't supposed to have Chip's Ahoy cookies for breakfast? :confused3 Would it help if I had bacon with them? :teeth:

My son wanted soup for breakfast once. Although perhaps not socially acceptable, I didn't have any other reason to say no, so I gave it to him.

Whenever we have cake in the house it is normal breakfast food. Thankfully we don't have cake often. :teeth: Oatmeal cookies get devoured for breakfast when we have them.

My 6yo likes to have the frozen bean/cheese burritos for breakfast. This morning he had an english muffing with peanut butter on it. Both are a lot healthier than the Cap'n Crunch that I'm going to have. :rotfl:

I always told my children, "If this is the day the school nurse asks everyone to write down what they had for breakfast, I want you to lie and say fruit, toast and oatmeal, even though we both know you had a PopTart." (It was a family joke - they don't even have a school nurse.) My children are terrible breakfast eaters - we're usually late anyway and they grab and go.

The cupcake sounds great to me - I just finished a bag of Christmas candy and washed it down with a Route 44 Diet Coke with extra ice from Sonic, so I may not be the best person to give you advice!!!!!

It just makes my day to know that other people enjoy good food, especially for breakfast! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I must go now and find a napkin to wipe the cupcake crumbs off my mouth. :goodvibes

Good question!!!

Now you gave me something to think about this morning!!! :scratchin

Don't you know that anything chocolate has no calories and can be eaten at anytime? :teeth:

When I had my own business my parrner and I always gave up chocolate for lent. We then decided that if was a "breakfast food" it didn't count. So we would have chocolate croissants, chocolate donuts, chocolate danishes etc!

I eat pizza for breakfast, why not a cupcake!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Love all these responses. Maybe I should start eating breakfast more often!

Suzanne

I love chocolate cupcakes for breakfast. When I eat a cupcake I stay full until lunch time. If I eat cereal, I end up snacking thoughout the morning.
Eat the cupcake :cool1:

When I was in college (a LONG time ago), my normal breakfast was cake and ice cream! And I weighed all of 115 pounds. Man has my metabolism changed!

I do agree that there is no difference, except perception. So if you don't feel bad about a chocolate donut, go ahead and eat the cupcake! Life's short.

C'mon people, around here they are called chocolate MUFFINS for breakfast and it's perfectly ok to eat them. They don't turn into cupcakes until after noon time.

Exactly! :thumbsup2

I used to eat brownies and pound cake for breakfast. While in college, doritos and McDonalds burgers and fries were also considered breakfast. So go ahead, have fun with your breakfast.

So I guess my strawberry shortcake for breakfast is okay, then? :rotfl:

Let's see, eggs, wheat, milk--yep, cupcakes are healthy! :thumbsup2 I am well known in my family for eating weird stuff for breakfast. Collard greens, cold macaroni, pizza, olive sandwich. DD12 is coming along in my footsteps--she eats garlic bread every morning :rotfl2: Bet her teacher loves that. My favorite is what we call "Fruit for Breakfast"--cherry pie :cloud9:
