It's Starting already....

I totally see this in our future. I so want to take my neices that are about my dd age. Their parents keep saying they are going next year, we offered to let them stay with us for free and they said maybe next year :confused3. Funny thing is that after years of dealing with my DH's family I am quite certain that we finally go they will sleep in, lounge by the pool (even through they never come to ours :confused3) and will be late or skip the ADRs that I make for the meals they want to go to. \

While this is at least a year off, I have started preparing myself now. Then again Disney is really hard to get until you are there.

Have a good trip.

Thanks for the replies everyone.....we just need to relax and let the vacation happen. We do feel bad that the cousins that are coming may never get there again for a long time. But I also don't want their parents to give us all the kids while they schedule other things... Getting them there is most of the battle, we'll take it from there. Thanks all!

SmilingGrump has some great advice.

Something else to remember and I know it is hard for all of us to remember this at times, if they don't ever get to come back for a long time, it really is ok.

Many kids grow up to have very happy lives without ever seeing Disney.

Enjoy your trip and try to listen to what they want and do what you want also. :thumbsup2

I have another piece of advice....have your next vacation booked or in your pocket - without friends. Then, if this one is driving you nuts, you can remind yourself that there is something coming up that won't have these particular problems.

I also love this strategy. I am pumped about our upcoming family trip but I know that I will appreciate our January trip when DH and I don't have to worry about anyone but ourselves! Even the best family vacation is a lot of work and worry.

I would also like to add that the park tickets can be viewed as costing a fortune. The price can definitely be a major factor in how many days they plan to spend in the parks, even if they can never make it down again.

We are bringing down a family of 6, paying airfare and providing a 2 bd for them, but we can't pay for park tickets too and I doubt they can afford more than one day's worth. A whole week would never even be considered. We will be playing in the pools, which the kids love and doing other things that are free. We are expecting to have a great time!
