"It's Safe to Say, I Love You!" A Solo Jan Adventure!-Now Completed!

With my theatre experiences behind me, I quickly checked Tower of Terror, but my fp wasn’t up yet, and the wait was still too heavy, so I headed back down Sunset Blvd, headed towards the Animation Courtyard! It was nearing 4:45, and I had some characters to meet!! I wandered through the animation building, it wasn’t quite time, but I figured I’d jump in line for Pooh to kill some time! That cue is just so cute!! (as is the new movie…and it’s actually funny too! I constantly catch myself laughing at it)

He’s just too cute!!

Now, that took a lot less time than I thought it was going to, and I knew if I waited much longer, I was going to have to miss some characters for a bathroom break! I checked around inside the Animation Building, but couldn’t see one anyone, so I headed to the one right by the entrance before quickly heading back inside!

I had met all the other characters on previous trips, and didn’t really want to meet any of the non-face characters, they were awesome, but you get more interaction from the face characters. I waited for the next set to come out, looked around in all the nooks at crannies of the building to make sure no one was hiding in the corners, and made sure to stop and take a picture of this on the way out:

221-1.jpg

Eeeeeek!!!! Heck yes! I had heard so many rumours about a new movie coming out sometime, but hadn’t gotten any kind of confirmation as to when or what, or even if it was true! So I was rather excited!

On my way out, I checked on Voyage of the Little Mermaid, the wait time was too long for me, and I had just missed the previous showing, so I headed back to my beloved Tower of Terror to try and use up those fast passes that were burning a whole in my pocket!! Once I got there though, the plan seemed to change, a lot. The fast pass return line was SUPER clogged, and I’m not talking “busy” I’m talking the cm’s at the entrance were sending people away, and saying that any of the fast passes we had could be used later, they were just TOO crowded right now. (And honestly, this is why they’re enforcing fp return time, and I’m not against it. *this is my opinion please don’t flame me for it* But I didn’t know you couldn’t use a fp past its return time, but if you can use it whenever you want, it’s going to crowd up cues such as like this. Anyways!) With that, I decided it was time to head out of the park, and over to Magic Kingdom!

222-1.jpg

223-1.jpg

I made sure to linger around the entrance to the park for a bit to give away my ToT fps, which was proving to be more difficult that I thought! When I give away fps, I always try to find a group that fits the fast pass the most, so I knew I had to find a group of 2, or at least with 2 people that met the height requirements. Luckily enough, a young couple came by, and I was able to spread a little pixie dust before leaving the studios!!

I have GOT to get DD to the Animation Building! Are the rare characters only out around 5 pm? Not sure how that will work with our ADRs this trip. Have to figure that out...

I don't think the FP rule enforcement is that terrible either. DH and I tend to be rule followers anyway, so we never went back after our return time even when it was allowed. It's just going to be an adjustment for people.

I love that you look for the "right" group to give FPs to. I do the same thing. It's not really a nice thing if they can't use em right? :goodvibes

Yes you do!! I'd say hit up the building aronud 4:45, then if it's not quite time, you can meet Sorcerer Mickey & Pooh (or whoever will be there) Keep your eye on the door to the right hand side of Pooh's m & g (when you're standing looking at Pooh). Also, if you ask any cm's about it, they won't acknowledge it, I asked one time to double check, and the cm said "I don't know....I'm with Pooh." They do 2 different sets of characters, and do them twice. So like, set 1 will be out for 15 mins, then set 2, then back to set 1, then set 2 again...if that makes sense? Haha!

Maybe we'll see each other there?! GAAAHHH ONE MONTH!! You guys getting excited yet?! I'm dying...haha

To be fair, it's also possible the FP line was crowded because the ride malfunctioned for a while, and not just because of people who came back with late FPs. Especially at a time when crowds are supposed to be low, like end of January. That, or the CM working the FP line was new and did not know how to do his/her job well. I read about something like that happening at an Epcot ride, after they started enforcing the FP return time. The FP line was so long that people were leaving it and joining the standby line instead. All that because the CM was not letting enough FP people through.

All very true... but I'm not upset about the changing policy, as I didn't even know you could use them past the time, I've always followed the rules, and haven't had a problem. But that's just me :hippie:

Ahhhhh….that beauteous sight! Such an amazing one! Yup….honestly, best moment of the trip is walking into Magic Kingdom, smelling the smells, seeing the sights, sensory overloooooaaaddd!!! I was pretty hungry at this point, especially since I stay away from the food at DHS, so my first destination was dinner, and where else to head to but Pecos Bill??! I got the taco salad & loaded it with toppings, and then got a carrot cake for dessert!

225-1.jpg

It was super yummy, although I didn’t get sour cream at the counter, so it wasn’t as good as it could be, not to mention, the beef was more “taco bell-ey” and the shell had more of a greasey taste to it than the last time, but it was still good!

With my belly full, I knew where I was headed to next, my favourite attraction!

226-1.jpg

Seriously, it’s so awesome, whenever I’m not having a great day, I play the music on my Ipod and it just makes me dance! I headed over to Haunted Mansion next, but it was currently closed, experiencing technical difficulties! I thought about going to pay my new friends Tiana & Naveen a visit, but decided to do that later, and head through to Fantasyland!

I first tried to hit up Peter Pan’s flight, but the fast passes were all gone, and the wait was faaaaar too long! Next up, was Snow White’s Scary Adventures! I never know when it’s actually going to close, so I never know when my last ride on it’s going to be! I totally forgot how creepy parts of that ride are, and how gorgeous Snow White actually is! I haven’t seen the movie in AGES, so I tend to forget things. Now it was time for:

227-1.jpg

Another one of my favourite attractions! It has the best songs from my favourite movies in it, and I love the 4D effects in it, especially the strawberry smells during Be Our Guest! Gah, so much brilliant-ness went into creating all of this, and I absolutely adore it all!

On my way through Fantasyland, I stopped in the Hunderd Acre Wood gift shop to pick up a couple of mugs, and a stuffed Eeyore for friends back home (pictures to come!). I was planning to hit up Wishes, but was getting pretty cold at this point (which honestly blew my mind for the fact that I was in Florida…and wearing shorts…though I do get cold pretty easily!) So I made a quick stop at Storybook Treats for a hot chocolate! The tastiest way to warm up! I quickly cut back through the hub, and snagged a spot right in front of the bakery to watch the fireworks!

Now, let me just take this time to tell you all that every single one of those fireworks photos, was taken with my Iphone camera! Not my actual camera….it was on this trip that I really began to love my Iphone, I hadn’t used it in the parks before, and honestly, I only used it for Twitter & pictures, but I’ll definitely be taking it for the point of pictures from now on!

With my Wishes all on their way to come true, and most of the crowds heading out of the park, I decided that I had some time to meet some friends before leaving for bed!

Where else to go to meet friends, but back to the Bayou?! Of course this was my target, I mean, after Wishes, there are only so many characters out, and for my luck, they’re all face characters, and ones that I always enjoy the interactions! So I cut through the Hub, forcing my way against all the crowds over to Tiana & Naveen’s line just as they were coming out, in fact, Tiana came in the usual way (around through the exit) while Naveen came through the line with all the people waiting, “hiding” from her. It was so cute while they played their little game on the way into the meet & greet!

I waited patiently, and when it was my turn to come up and say hi, Naveen, whether surprisingly or not, recognized me! Calling me by name & “Canadian Charlotte”! I at least found it impressive. And once again, some awesome pictures!

Photo0079FourBySix-1.jpg

Oh wait…let’s just zoom in on that one a bit!

Yup….

Tiana was different tonight, but was still fantastic! Just as I was about to leave, Naveen made sure to tell me to come back tomorrow as well, but to make sure that I came back in the evening! I assured him I would, and with a wave, headed over to Adventureland! My last task of the night, was to take an adventure down to Pixie Hollow!

The wait was posted at 20 mins, but I’m pretty sure it was actually less than that before I was shrunk down to size. I was hoping that I would meet someone else aside from Vidia, and I was in luck!!

Rosetta was great, although I have met better, I honestly couldn’t tell you what we chatted about, but I know she was good. Next up of course, was Tink herself! We had a good chat, and again, I couldn’t tell ya what we talked about.

Photo0087FourBySix-1.jpg

One thing that I noticed during this meet & greet, was that Tink had brown eyes! I honestly found this absurdly weird, as every character usually has contacts in if their eyes don’t match what they’re supposed to be! Maybe she was having problems with them & had to take them out or something, but it was honestly weird to meet a Tink with brown eyes…just weeeeird.

I was de-shrunk as I left Pixie Hollow, and made sure to just meander through the shops on Main Street on my way out, but managed to not buy anything (heck yes!) before catching a monorail back to the TTC, and making the short walk back to my room. I got ready for bed quickly, and placed a room service order for the next morning, there was some specific food that I *needed* to try, and what better of a time than at the Polynesian!

I just got all caught up and I'm hopping over to your DLR TR too.

Wow, you have met a lot of characters and that's totally awesome! I never get around to doing that and should definitely make more of an effort for sure.

So, I think I know what food you may have a date with. If it's room service, at the Poly, and for breakfast? I'm guessing Tonga Toast. ;)

Meeting characters is my favorite thing to do, especialy solo!!

And you may have the correct answer there!

That's awesome that Naveen recognized you! I'm wondering if you did go back to see him the next evening, and if so, if anything special happened!

Heeheeheee! You'll just have to wait and see hey!? ;)

I'm almost positive that is the Tink we met, and in my pics she has brown eyes too! (if you want to see, check my tr link below!)

I missed 2 updates! Drat!

All caught up though. Looks like another great night of character meets! How fun that Naveen recognized you!

I need to look into my DHS day and see how early our dinner ADR is at Cape May, I sure hope that we can make the fun character meets at the animation building!

We are getting so excited for the trip, but a LOT busier too--stay tuned for the PTR update tomorrow!

Looking forward to more!

Weeird! Also, I've totally meant to be reading your TR, I've just got too many on the go! (which is odd as I have no life :rotfl2:) I checked out the Tink, and she definitely has brown eyes, not totally sure if it's the same one or not, but it could just be the angle of the pics. I just think it's REALLY weird that she would have brown eyes if everyone else wears contacts

But you're all caught up now! Haha!! Oh Naveen :lovestruc I've found so many new loves in Disney trips haha! Ones that after the movie it's been "meh" until you meet them in person, and it's all :cloud9: bahaha!!

That's a definite thing to do!But even if you don't make it to palooza, there's still tons of characters to meet everywhere else! Gah! I'm jumping right over to read ptr now!!

This new & bright morning was kind of off to a rough start at the very beginning of it, I was jostled out of sleep (you know, the mornings when you kind of “jump” when you wake up?) by not only my wake up call, but my Iphone alarm, and THEN a loud knock at my door! What the heck!? Oh right!! It was my breakfast!! I quickly paid the room service lady (and greatly over tipped thanks to it being early & me not really having correct bills) I also remember slowly taking things off the tray she had and moving them over to the table, rather than just taking the tray…yup…it was early. (7;30 to be exact)

I closed the door, turned on either some Stacy or music, and sat down to take the first couple of bites before starting to get ready while eating. Now, what was my breakfast, you may ask?

251-1.jpg

TONGA TOAST!!!! I have read so much about it on the disboards, and dining reviews, and knew that I had to try it, well, I’m a person that I’m not going to waste a sit down breakfast when you could be at the parks, so I usually only do breakfasts on the last days of trips, but didn’t have time to do that on this trip. Once I discovered you could have it ordered to your room & still make it for rope drop (or would I?!) made my mind for me!

It came with a side of meat, I chose the ham, and a bowl of fruit to attempt to balance it out! It was just as amazing as I thought it would be! The first few bites I thought “wow this is really good” especially with the strawberry sauce (I don’t know what it was, but it really reminded me of the strawberry soup at 1900 Park Fare?) THEN I got to the middle, where the bananas were, and was even more amazed! SO GOOD, just light & fluffy & so tasty!

I quickly got ready while finishing the Tonga Toast & ham, and threw the fruit into the fridge for later, and jumped out the door, I had a Kingdom full of Magic awaiting me, and I HAD to make it for rope drop! However in my rush….I forgot to put on sunscreen….which for a pasty like me, is a problem…luckily enough I use tinted moisturizer that has SPF in it on my face, so I just got a bit of extra sun on my chest and arms!

I headed over to the TTC to find that the direct monorail loop was currently down, so we would have to take the resort line. Gah! Seriously?! I have an important date with an opening show! Oh hey…you’re taking me by the wedding pavilion again…I guess that’s ok then… Baha!! Don’t you fret though, I got to the park with PLENTY of time…

252-1.jpg

Yup…that much time…I managed to STILL get there AN HOUR before the park opened! HAH! I guess I was just so used to traveling with groups that I forget, one person is a lot easier to wrangle than 4 grumpy gus-es who need their coffee & 4 course meal to get going. I had had plans to get a coffee at the kiosk at the TTC, but it hadn’t been open when I crossed through, should’ve been my first sign that I wasn’t going to be late. And of course, there was nothing around the entrance that I could GET a coffee at. Oh well, there were some beautiful sites to take in!

253-1.jpg

It was probably about 8:45 that they started letting everyone in (don’t quote me on that, I could totally be wrong!) and before ya know it, the Rope Drop Show! Gah!! It’s so incredible & magical & fantastic & practically perfect in every way! GFDNFDSGD!!!

BA BAM!! The fireworks are going, the countdown is down, tears are STREAMING down my face (okay, not in real life, but I’m legit a little blurry eyed typing it up thinking about it right now) I cannot wait to take my mom in Sept to rope drop, I will probably cry…a lot…on that trip….I’m a sap… With the rope dropped I knew my plan was to go straight through the castle, see if any of the characters were out, grab a peter pan fast pass, and then to jump into Rapunzel’s line! However I made sure to take my time walking down Main St, and to also pay attention to who was walking down it with me! In Sept we had noticed Chip & Dale walking down to their meet & greet spots with the crowds, most of who are all to distracted in the race to rides to notice, so I made sure to look around, and sure enough, I found some friends!

264-1.jpg

Ahhh Main Street USA, the smells, the sights, the sounds, all so amazing!!

265-1.jpg

266-1.jpg

267-1.jpg

Yup…oh hey Chip & Dale, just takin a stroll down Main St, no biggie! Aaaaand there’s the castle! Aaaahhh….so much love for this (not so much for that crane though…although it was nice that it was straight up with the tiers of the castle, and not so far out to the side)

268-1.jpg

Oh hey there…

269-1.jpg

270-1.jpg

Oh my gosh I wish I was there RIGHT NOW (yes…I am aware that I just got back from DLR, more on that later, but WDW is my life & world…)

I took my time walking through the castle, just taking it all in, I peered around the left corner where the Fairy Godmother was last time, but no luck! No one was out, I continued around the corner to get my fast pass for Peter Pan, and there she was! Right past one of the construction walls in a little corner with practically no line! We had a nice little chat, she made sure to help my day be magical, and we bid goodbye to each other!

271-1.jpg

I really enjoyed walking down main street with the characters! didn't get pictures of it, but it was fun. I think that is so cute to see Alice and Tiana talking to each other!

we met the same Fairy godmother - fun!

Glad you made it for rope drop! I always schedule us for breakfasts early, so we're there but don't get to see the show. I'm sure I'd cry like a baby. How fun to walk down Main Street with Chip and Dale!

Fairy Godmother!!!! I so hope that we'll be able to find her in April, that would really seal the deal on the whole BBB/princess day!

I totally didn't notice in Sept when it happened, until Nick ran up to chip and grabbed a "myspace" pic it it  I totally didn't know they did that, but I think it's SO awesome. I also had no idea Alice was out, I know she's super sparatic in meet & greets, but I've only seen her at MNSSHP

I thought I would always stick to doing the meals pre park, and managing to get out just as the rope was dropped, and having that advantage, but Nick asked to not do so many breakfasts, and since then, I've just been hooked!! It's totally awesome.

I'm sure you'll find her in April!! If it wasn't against the rules for adults to dress up in the parks, I'd totally fill in if you didn't!

really? we met Alice easily! I also met her on my last trip but that was in Epcot and I hadn't known she'd be there.
