"It's Safe to Say, I Love You!" A Solo Jan Adventure!-Now Completed!

I thought I would always stick to doing the meals pre park, and managing to get out just as the rope was dropped, and having that advantage, but Nick asked to not do so many breakfasts, and since then, I've just been hooked!! It's totally awesome.

I'm sure you'll find her in April!! If it wasn't against the rules for adults to dress up in the parks, I'd totally fill in if you didn't!

I understand not wanting too many breakfasts, it gets to be a lot. For us thought, it's nice to get DD's character fix taken care of ASAP :lmao:

That's so sweet of you! We just thought it would add a little magic to the whole day for DD, but she'll be ecstatic either way. :cheer2:

I really liked doing them. It gets the characters out of the way, and actually forces you to eat a nice big breakfast. Nick just didn't care for them at all, so when he was coming along, we cut down drastically. I would definitely like to do one each morning of the trip, 1 per park kinda thing. I enjoy them.

:D I do what I can ahaha Oh surprises, they sure do make things more magical. I sometimes think my mom still doesn't think that the trip with her is real hahah!!

LOVE your trip report! Great pictures! What awesome character interaction you had!

Thanks!! I'm glad you're here to read along & enjoy!

Well, I was going to post an update, but I really don't have time right now. See, I usually type everything up in a word doc and do a bunch of them at a time, save them, and then just have to copy & paste on the busy days, but I haven't finished the latest one! Oh no! I'll probably get it up on Monday!

I hopefully will get starting a PTR for April as well, I'm not as big as PTR's at all, and I'm thinking I'm just going to link all of my 2012 TR's together as there's a lot of them. Gah! I keep having dreams about Disney, I'm just TOO EXCITED.

In current life news: I check the disney auditions website every day just to be sure, and yesterday, I noticed that they are doing a nation wide search for Tinker Bell currently, so I most definitely sent in my resume & head shot. So! Fingers Crossed for that!! :worship:

In trip news; had a bit of a heart attack recently. I have just booked flights (got em for under $400! Heck yes! :woohoo:):woohoo: And the hotel is booked, but I'm getting the guys to pay at the gate for tickets, so that it's less changing hands of money, it doesn't make sense. Well, I started to get on Tyler's case as I've had 2 visa bills in a row that are all Disney & shopping while in Disney, so they're not the cheapest of bills. Ty also still owes me from Sept trip. After I got on his case a bit, he started freaking out, and said he'd just back out of the trip.

HECK NO. For anyone that followed the May or Sept 2011 TR's, you know that this (having a person drop out last minute AFTER flights were booked) has happened to me twice already. At least in this case, he said he'd pay for the flight. So, after some deal making, he IS coming on the trip, and we've put together a payment plan to get everything back. Tanessa, she's totes fine with everything

SO, we're getting VERY excited to be going! I feel like it's going to be an awesome trip, and lots and lots of fun. We're eating at some new places too, so that'll be great to try!!

And that, is life.

After I finished up with the Fairy Godmother, I headed over to grab a fast pass for Peter Pan’s flight! I had only been on it once, so I wanted to at least try to get on in this trip! Yay for fast passes!! Next up was one of my favorite rides; Winnie the Pooh!!

274-1.jpg

275-1.jpg

I love the cue for this ride, and I won’t lie, I also love playing around in it, but I withheld my childish tendencies this morning and jumped into my honey pot! My explorations and goals of fantasy land at this point were done, so I quickly jumped over to my next goal of the morning: getting the Rapunzel meet & greet out of the way! I quickly jumped into her line, hoping it wouldn’t be over an hour, and tweeted while I waited:

“About an hour wait for Rapunzel! But at least the view is great!”

276-1.jpg

That little construction wall was up, but at least I could still see the castle! Within an hour, I was eventually up at the front of the line, and it was now my turn to say hi! We chatted a bit, she complimented my braid, and asked if I did it just for her (of course I did! Haha)

Photo0089FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0090FourBySix-1.jpg

She was super cute, super chatty and super friendly, I give her two big thumbs up for interaction!

279-1.jpg

Photo0093FourBySix-1.jpg

Yay for awesome meet & greets! I love it when people are friendly and chatty, even if you aren’t a kid, or are alone, it was awesome. Now, with an hour of my day killed, I checked the wait time for the fairies using my handy dandy Iphone, but it was too long. Now, it was time to use my Peter Pan Flight’s fast pass!

280-1.jpg

I never try to get pictures during the ride, I know with my little point & shoot they’ll never turn out, but that’s ok! Next up; Haunted Mansion!

281-1.jpg

282-1.jpg

Again with knowing that pictures wouldn’t turn out, so I figured I wouldn’t try! Haha!! I ended up getting stuck on the ride for a little bit, but I’m sure it was just while they helped someone who needed extra time in or out of the doom buggies, which I really don’t mind. I haven’t actually ever really been *stuck* on a ride (now that I’ve said that…knock on wood!).

Next up I figured I was close enough that I may head over to Splash! Best Ride Ever!! Uhhmm…how about we go later!? Why, you may ask? Well, the giant sea of purple that was a tour group was headed over there, no thank you! I figured I’d run over later, for right now, I had some serious character greeting to do!

I had a certain Princess on my mind, one that, now that I knew where she was, I had to make sure I met her every trip. Which one was this? Well, Ariel of course! I had even worn my Ariel shirt to the parks today just to go that extra mile! Haha! Ariel & Prince Eric weren’t out when I jumped into the line, and the line wasn’t very long when I got in it, but it moved pretty quickly once the royal couple came out!

One thing that I noticed (and definitely tweeted) was that 90% of the kids in front of me in line wanted absolutely NOTHING to do with Prince Eric…like…he was way off to the side, at least 5-10 feet away, just chillin’ with the handler. I’ll take him! :rotfl: Seriously though….apparently little kids are scared of Princes? He is kinda tall, and to a kid, he must look like a giant, so I get it?

Before you knew it, I was up at the front, and it was my turn! Eeek! I jumped right up, and she of course commented on my shirt right away, and I made sure to point out my watch (it’s also Ariel, one of the little kid ones you can buy in the parks, last trip I really needed a watch, and I really only wear a watch at the parks, so I figured, hey, why not!?)

Photo0095FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0096FourBySix-1.jpg

We chatted for a bit, she asked if it was my first trip, I said no, and explained that I had been there many a times in the last 6 months, and she turned back to Eric and said “I TOLD you so! I knew you’d been here before” Yup…just got recognized by a Princess…now…here’s the thing…I definitely hadn’t met her as Ariel….I’d met her elsewhere in the parks….and I didn’t recognize her…HA! Hilarity. Ariel is also one of my friends favorite Princesses, so I made sure to grab a video of her saying hello to Lux (and her new little “guppy” Lux just has a little Princess of her own)

Photo0097FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0099FourBySix-1.jpg

I wish I could find a copy of the video, but it’s just on my phone, and I don’t think I ever actually uploaded it… We took our group picture, and I said good bye to them!

Photo0100FourBySix-1.jpg

Next up I figured I would jump around the corner into Adventureland where my other friend’s favorite Prince was! Any guesses? If you thought Aladdin & Jasmine, you were right!! While we were in line, I definitely had some parents & kids tell me that I looked like Rapunzel! Haha! It was probably the 3rd or 4th time on the trip I was told I looked like a character! So awesome!

I couldn’t tell ya what we talked about, but Aladdin & Jasmine were great! (Although, I did notice just how WHITE Jasmine was…but then… when you go back and watch the movie, you’ll notice that she’s not really that “brown” she’s more of just an olive skinned tone….food for thought)

288-1.jpg

Photo0103FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0102FourBySix-1.jpg

They were great, and when I attempted to grab a video of them on my phone…it DIED! I said to not bother with it, but Jasmine suggested (and insisted) using my camera for it instead, which was awesome! So, here that is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ev4selyJcM&feature=youtu.be

Yay! I'm so glad Naveen recognized you; I just love when my love for their meet'n'greet is confirmed.

Aaaah you're so lucky for staying in the Poly! The monorail and the food and the everything!! How awesome (if only it wasn't so expensive... maybe when we get APs at some point and there's a decent AP rate).

I've never seen the opening show (though my family was the family of the day when they went without me) but it looks so sweet. I think it's so funny how Tomorrowland Chip and Dale are walking down Main Street all 'no big deal!' I wonder why they picked those particular costumes for them? And not "plain" Chip and Dale?

I think the Rapunzel outfit is one of the most flattering for the costume performers. It's just so lovely! And rather simple (compared to Ariel's and Jasmine's at least!) There's just all that hair to deal with.

heh, I don't think Disney casts the princesses on ethnicity (unfortunately, in my opinion. I've definitely seen some white Mulans in the parks and it always makes me wonder if it's really THAT difficult to get Chinese women to audition? And etc., etc. for the other princesses). So I think that Jasmine was more a result of budget cutting (she can play more face character roles than someone who does Tiana, for example) than anything else!

-Oh Naveen! I go back and watch the movie, and I'm just not that into him, especially in the movie, I mean, he's not the greatest human being (or frog...) but once I remember the meet & greet, I'm all

-Dear god the polynesian is my favorite resort as of right now (as Im staying at AKL in sept, that may change,) but I love how close it is to the magic kingdom, and I'd definitely take some time on a longer trip to stay there and explore the beach during the day/morning (when it's not 6am and still dark). I do really want to stay at Beach Club too, that's on my list, with POFQ Gah! So many places!!

-The morning show is just the greatest thing in the world. It breaks my little heart that the music on the 4 parks 1 world cd isn't the same as the current show, I want my music! :guilty: Hah! And I think it's just whoever has the earliest, outdoor meet & greets out in the park, so they don't have to get a specific set of characters out for 10 minutes of rope drop, and then nothing, and a new set to come out for meet & greets, and as Chip & Dale meet in tmr land, I guess that's it?

-My god I love the rapunzel dress, I'm really leaning towards being her for halloween, and now that I've discovered etsy, I'm thinking of seeing if I can get one of the "tutu" styled cosutmes so it's not so hot. I love it, so excited!!

-How casting works will always blow my mind, obviously they need the certain ethnicity for Tiana and Mulan, but I've seen some asian looking Pocahontases and Jasmines. And honestly, from what I've heard, if you're in the height range, you'll get fitted for them, and if the look fits, you can be friends with them (obviously I wouldn't be even fitted for Tiana, but I could be fitted with Jasmine, and I've had the dark hair and can handle dark thick make-up, so you never know how things work...) And obviously you need people who are versitile and if someone is out sick one day, anyone can step in for them. Same goes with the guys, I've seen some serious cases of overuse of bronzer on Aladdins in the past.

Oh my gosh, my internet connection sucks, and thus I've posted this like, 4 times, my apologises!!

I just wanted to jump in here and include a little bit about my April trip that's coming up in just under a month, I will (maybe) be doing a PTR in a new thread (it will probably include the years worth of trips & PTRs) but I wanted to lay down the plans for everyone that's been so awesomely following along since the start! SO!

When: Sunday April 22-Saturday April 28/2012

Who:Me!
IMG_4324.jpg

(I seriously have nothing but headshots & Disney on my photobucket...)

Tanessa!
IMG_1377.jpg

and Tyler!
Photo0044FourBySix.jpg

All friends from work at the dinner theatre. Tyler came along on the Sept trip as a last minute guest, and Tanny & I had had plans to go this spring to Mexico, but said no to the tequila & partying and yes to making childhood dreams come true. (Although there's a high chance that there will still be tequila...it's my fave...)

Where: Caribbean Beach Resort!
CB_EST_1_998.jpg

It will be our first time staying at this resort, and our first time at a Moderate. In Sept we stayed at Pop, I know Tyler's super pumped about staying at CBR, and wants to spend a day in the hammock! I'm excited to check it all out, and really hope that after the Deluxe's, it won't let me down!

Celebrations?: Well, we will all be celebrating birthdays down there, as Tanessa's was in March, mine is at the end of May (although I may return for my birthday) and Tyler's is in June. I think it just adds more magic to the trip, and it'll make it awesome for the guys that have less Disney experience than I. That's what trips are all about, right? Spreading the magic? :wizard:

Our Plans:
(:lmao: let's be serious, they're not our plans, they're my plans :rotfl2:)

April 22: We fly in (on American Airlines) at 6:30pm. I'm hoping we can be on the ME by 7:00 and to CBR for 8:00pm Then we'll be taking off right away to:
Christmas_at_the_magic_Kingdom_Wallpaper_JxHy.jpg

As they are open until 1 am with Extra Magic Hours that evening. I'm hoping we can shoot alot of the rides out of the way tonight, and just throw ourselves into the magic.

Mon April 23: We have an early start at 8:00am to head to:

animal_kingdom.jpg

For some EMH in the morning!! Heck yes!! We'll be heading STRAIGHT to EE, and riding it as many times as possible, then hit up the safari, EE again, Dinosaur, some characters, and of course, how could we even THINK of missing:
DSCN5951.jpg

This will be where you can find me bawling my eyes out of joy & happiness and jealousy.

Hopefully we'll be done the park by 3pm, and have some time to really relax, because we've got a 5:00pm ADR!! AT:

The Hoop De Doo Revue! I have heard some wishy washy things about this, but after I read that the food & unlimited beverages (including beer & wine & sangria) were all included for $60.00, I was sold. Plus, there's cornbread... And I mean, we're all from the dinner theatre company, so we should enjoy something cheesy.

Tues 24: We'll be heading back to the Magic Kingdom today!
-After rope drop & some rides, we have a 9:50am breakfast at Crystal Palace!
Goals will include:
-Rope Drop! (me=crying)
-Splash Mtn

Thurs 26: Epcot
epcot2.jpg

We'll get there right at opening, and I'll most likely send Tanny & Tyler to Soarin while I get some FP for Test Track. Why? Well, my stomach & head didn't agree with Soarin last time, so I may as well sit it out.
Goals:
-Test Track
-Seas
-Imagination
-CAPTAIN EO
18-1.jpg

Wait...what?! NO...we'll stay away from that this time
-Mission Space for Tyler
-World Showcase
-Character hunting!
140-1.jpg

(Oh my goodness I cannot wait to be there, I love it!)
Today we have a lunch ressie at 2:50 at Chefs De France!
oct2010225.jpg

I'm excited to eat here, I was debating between here & Via Napoli, but the menu of France won me over
Another goal of the day is:
-Drink around the world
-Illuminations (especially since Tyler missed it last time)

Fri April 27:
-VISIT ALL THE PARKS
-No really...that's about it.
-We have dinner at 1900 Park Fare
IMG_0456.jpg

I'm not super excited about food here, but the interaction will be amazing. During this jaunt over to the Grand Floridian I plan on at LEAST sneaking a glance at the Wedding Pavillion :lmao:

Then on the 28th we Depart bright at early to be back in Calgary for 1pm.

So, there you have our plans, I will link the PTR into here sometime, once it gets started! If you have any suggestions of what to eat anywhere, let me know, and hopefully we'll be able to try them out!

I also just need to say that I'm nearly done writing up everything for this TR, and looking through the pics of my last night, just got me SOOO excited for everything, I seriously cannot wait to be in my special place again surrounded my magic & pixie dust.

In other news; I'm 98% sure I'm going to be Rapunzel for Halloween, I've discovered Etsy, and found these adorable tutu styled costumes (and yes, although they are originally for kids, I'm sure that I could pay extra for an adult size) that I would like to use:

Rapunzel #1

Rapunzel #2

Otherwise I'll be Alice!

Those costumes are so cute! I vote for one of the Rapunzels. They're much more fun.

Let me know when you start the PTR, it'll be like reading my own since our plans are so simillare :lmao:

I'm not saying skip Fantasmic, but Jellyrolls is a ton of fun, you guys need to give that a try. (It's one of those things that you need to do with a group, not solo)

The Hoop Dee Doo is cheesey. But, it's also really, really fun. My DH was one of the 'volunteers' for the show during our honeymoon trip, so that may be why we like it so much, but it really is cute. It's my back up plan if SOA gets rained out.

How exciting to have your next trip planned already!

My vote... Rapunzel #1. Both cute, but I liked that one better. :)

Oh my goodness, my next trip?! I've got my next 2 (and I really want to take a quick solo trip down before Sept) Baha, I've gotta use up that annual pass! Lol

I'm definitely planning on goin for one of the rapunzel's, here's hopin that they can be made in adult size (I'm sure they can!)

Knowing me, I'll probably start the PTR the week before we leave :rotfl2: I've never been one to make them, and it's harder when the people going don't live together, and don't really hang out that much. It's gonna be even harder for me when I go with my mom, as she lives in a different city, and there's so much to brief her on! Lol

We'll definitely hit up Jelly rolls, I'm interested to see how it compares to the piano bar we work in. Ours is super loud, super drunk, plays Don't Stop Believin' 5 times a night, dance on your chair kinda place, and when I poked my head into Jelly rolls, and it seemed really quiet and tame, but we'll probs check it out.

I'm getting super excited for Hoop De Doo, and knowing that the beer's included, I wouldn't be surprised if Tyler ends up being part of the show  It'll be a good time!!

Hey friends, just needed to jump in and give everyone the link to all upcoming TR's.
I'm going to do them all under 1 name, and just have sub TR's inside of it, I figured it would just be easier that way...who knows?!:confused3

Here's the link:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=44447970#post44447970

In other news, I've just gotten SO excited for our upcoming trips, and I'm still seriously debating a solo trip down in May/June, so if any of you have plans to go at that point, let me know and maybe we can meet up for a Dole Whip!

I still haven't heard back from Disney about the Tink auditions, although that might end up not being until the submission deadline is past, who knows?!

In life news: I'm still searching for a new/day job (though, not very hard) but seriously need some more cash on my hands, it would help if we made more than $25 a night in tips...:scared1: but hey, it's a fun job. I'm dancing twice a week with ballroom, and apparently am getting better, so that's awesome! And today marks the start of a cleanse for me as well, today until Disney, all health all the time. Then Disney hits and calories and fat don't exist (am I right?:wizard:)

So...yeah...that's my life. Feel free to tell me about yours!! (I'm also copy & pasting this into my DLR TR)

I really like the Rapunzel dresses, and think it would suit you very well.

I really like the Rapunzel dresses, and think it would suit you very well.

Thanks!! I'm super excited! I'm thinking I'll end up getting some cheap extensions to put in (just down to waist heigh) and figure out something with a side braid hair wise! Yay!

Where we left off I had said good bye to my friends over in Agrabah and was debating on what I should do next, I was getting a little hungry, but it was still a little too early for a dole whip, so I figured, hey, why not just do lunch for right now? Knowing where all my favorite foods are in MK, I headed over to Cosmic Rays! As per usual, I got the Turkey Sandwich with French fries, and this time, added an iced coffee.

290-1.jpg

I obviously enjoyed it, this has been something I’ve eaten on every single trip, and something I noticed this time, was that there’s pesto & red onion on it. I’ve recently discovered my love for both of those things, so it was awesome. I also appreciated that the iced coffee wasn’t super milky, and that I figured I could stomach it for the rest of the day! Yay! Downside of lunch, the huge sea of purple that was the tour group was in there, and it was just insane, they weren’t crazy loud or anything, it was just crazy to witness the way they had to eat lunch.

While at lunch I pulled out my map and checked for an ATM that would be nearby, there was one in the Space Mtn gift shop, so I headed there. My thoughts: “Dear god where did all my money go?!” I later found out that my bank acct had finished whatever plan it was on (I think I was still on a student plan) and was currently running without a plan, so every single time I took out money, it charged $5.00!! GAH! SERIOUSLY! Eventually when I did go into the bank and explain that I didn’t know this was happening they refunded the money I had lost, but god it was a scare to go through, random money disappearing?! No thanks!

Of course, what’s the natural thing to do when you see your funds are low? SHOPPING!! Bahaha, ridiculous I know, but I had been looking at the adult sized Buzz Lightyear sweaters last trip for Tyler, and I knew how much he would love it, so I got it this trip, along with a matching T-shirt for his nephew Jackson. I had it sent to the front of the park, and made my way across into the hub.

The Move It Shake It Celebrate It dance party was going on, and I absolutely love this little celebration, more when it’s traveling down Main St, but whenever really. It just has so much more energy than any of the rest of the parades, and I love it for that reason!

291-2.jpg

292-1.jpg

293-1.jpg

294-1.jpg

I stopped long enough to get my fix, and for the streets to open up for dancing, and quickly ducked across the hub to the Adventureland bridge, I had a date that I couldn’t miss! Earlier I had asked on what time Peter would be back out in his spot, and of course, couldn’t miss it!

295-1.jpg

Peter saw my shirt, and called me a mermaid, and then asked if I would splash Wendy, he definitely would, she talks way too much!

296-1.jpg

297-1.jpg

298-1.jpg

He was definitely the BEST Peter that I’ve had the opportunity of meeting, he was superbly in character, sounded just like him, and was just plain awesome! I checked the wait time for the fairies (still too long for my liking) and grabbed a fast pass for Splash (had a 25 minute wait);

299-1.jpg

300-1.jpg

301-1.jpg

before heading back down Main Street for some more meet & greets! These guys were out, and I stopped for a bit to watch/listen, and one thing I wondered, was how in the heck they were mic-ed?! I couldn’t really see any mics on their faces, it’s just another part of Disney magic that’s really well hidden I guess!

302-1.jpg

303-1.jpg

I headed into the Town Square Theatre, and the wait for the Princesses was only 15 minutes! Score! I certainly had some awesome timing, that’s for sure! Up first was Aurora, we chatted for a bit;

Photo0105FourBySix-1.jpg

She asked me where my Prince was, if he was out riding rides while I met everyone, and I explained that I was down alone for this trip.

Photo0107FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0108FourBySix-1.jpg

She was cute, nice enough, you know, the usual Princess stuff. Belle, who was up next, asked what I had done today, I told her a lot, and we chatted a bit more before grabbing a picture. One thing that I noticed about her, she looked quite a bit like one of my other friends from work, weird stuff.

Photo0109FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0110FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0111FourBySix-1.jpg

Lastly was Cindy herself, she was definitely the most chatty of the 3 of them that day. She commented on how I had legs today! And to make sure I didn’t lose any shoes. (I was getting a lot of attention with the Ariel shirt!) She said that although she likes it when Ariel has legs, she usually ended up sticking Flounder in her fish tank, which she didn’t really like.

Photo0112FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0113FourBySix-1.jpg

And with that, I’m quite seriously going to have to stop, photobucket is being nothing but a PAIN in the butt! Every time I go to click on the link that copy’s and pastes it, nothing happens, and it takes about 10 tries to actually get it to work! #firstworldproblems. So later, there will be more, only 6 updates left until this TR is done! Eeeek! So sad! Although I’ve still got DLR, and a PTR to write in 3 weeks before getting home from April’s trip!!

Your sandwich looks amazing. Pesto makes everything better - I'm particularly partial to sundried tomato pesto! Delicious! (and healthy sounding :lmao:)

I love Peter (and Wendy!) meets. There's something so fun and playful about them - they seem to talk more about doing things and having adventures than some of the other characters.

How lucky to run into the Dapper Dans! I really wanted to catch one of their sets, but could never figure out the timing. They are quite talented - I wonder how long they stick around in a group? Like, are they hired as a set or does Disney just throw some talented people together?

Maddie was feeling too sick to meet Peter last trip, I so hope that we find him this time! You're meet looked awesome!

How cute that the characters all commented on you lack of fins, they really are amazing at their jobs. I'm sure that you can relate-working with the public- some days the last thing that you want to do is be nice to guests. Disney really hires some amazing people :goodvibes

My goodness pesto is just delicious!! Peter is just so fantastic, I love the meet n greets with him! There are definitely some characters that are better at talking about a variety of things, sometimes it's the character, sometimes it's the cm, some of them are just amazing!

I'm pretty sure they Dapper Dans are just talented people thrown together, could be wrong, that's just my observation from the audtition website.

Aww, that sucks! Hopefully you get to meet him this time around!! So many of the cm's are so great at their jobs, and I am thouroughly impressed with the way they do their jobs. Some of the people they have to deal with during the day, and just keep such a positive face and in character. It gets hard at Jubilations, and we do have to drop character occasionally to deal with people. It's obviously harder as we're also serving alcohol, and during Christmas party season we have to deal with some interesting characters to say the least.
