"It's Safe to Say, I Love You!" A Solo Jan Adventure!-Now Completed!

Hey girl :) I found your TR the other day and I read the intro and I'm liking your writing style! So immhere to read along! Yay! Time to catch up!

Yay! I'm glad you're here to read along, and that you like the writing! I do my best to keep it entertaining!

Ahhh I can just imagine the feeling of landing in Orlando.bthatsmmy favorite feeling in the world!

I love Disney children! They melt my heart.

Yay for the Polynesian! That's one resort I haven't stayed at but I go there SO much so I can go to the restaurants lol

What a beautiful room!

Landing anywhere is amazing, but anywhere warm, where the magic just starts the instant you get off the plane, even better! I'll take Disney over Vegas or Mexico anyday! The Poly is so gorgeous, I knew that I would love it,

-------

I LOVE hitting the Town Square meet and greet when it's empty! That's just the best thing in the world! VIP definitely!

NAVEEN?!?!?!?!? OH MY GOD HOW LUCKY!!!

Hahaha omg I love the conversation that you had with them about bein charolette! You should totally be hernfornhalloween!

dfn;gfgndojfod Naveen! GAWD! It was seriously amazing, I'm seriously considering it, but I think I'll probably end up being Tink or Alice..

------

Mm that mango passion cupcake sounds good! What an interesting flavor!

I'm glad you liked Stacey a lot this trip lol

It was tasty! I was hesitant at first, but it had "fruit" in it, so I preteneded it was kinda healthy:laughing: I had heard so much about her in other TR's that I had to turn it on sometime this trip, and I actually had some downtime in the room to watch her as well!
------

Cake for breakfast is completely acceptable in Disney :thumbsup2

If you decide to get into pin trading... Order a bulk supply of them on eBay (like 25 or 50) so you can get them really cheap.. And then you can just trade for the ones you like with the CM's! It's perfect :)

Ah what a wonderful morning! Front row is the best on any ride!

I definitely bought myself a landyard while in DLR this week, and bought my mom a starter kit from Disney, but am definitely going to look into buying the pins themselves in bulk! Thanks for the tip!

------

Cute picture with Louie and Baloo!

------

Omg 115 pounds is tiny! I bet you could totally do that job though. You look like a dancer!

You are SO right about the lion section lol :thumbsup2

If I exercised as much as the tumble monkeys... I would eat EVERYTHING. LOL

The Disney entertainment system blows my mind too. I just want to know how it all works. And I just want a job. I would work for them forever and never want another job. It would be perfect.

GAH! It kills me, that's 12 pounds from where I am right now, and I really don't think I've got that much to lose, but I'm going to work on just toning everything up, and getting all my dancer tone back and hopefully that will work! Thanks!! I'm hoping for next year, I mean, I'll be going to the audition no matter what, but hopefully I actually get it haha
------

I like that maple leaf fence picture!

I LOVE TIGGER!

------

Okay I'm all caught up :wizard: loving it do far! I have never read a solo trip report and it sounds like you're having a ton of fun already

I'm glad you're enjoying it! I really do love writing trip reports, to relive the magic, and help others enjoy the magic as well! I had soooo much fun on my solo trip, it was awesome!!

All my replies are in the bolded-ness!!

This is where I was headed next, obviously! I was *very* tempted to get a Grand Marnier slushy, I mean hey, it was past noon somewhere! (and maybe here in Orlando? I couldn’t tell ya!) But figuring on how hungry I was, I figured it was probably not the greatest idea. What was a good idea?! MORE CHARACTERS!! Of course…Belle was out in France, and there was only one family in front of me in line! I had seriously had this luck with characters, there was barely anyone in front of me, and I would be worried that the line was cut off, but it never was! Oh the stuff that’s worth asking!

Photo0057FourBySix-1.jpg

Belle was good, she was okay in the chattiness level, and that was about it. Thanks to Nick from the last trips being so in love with her, I asked if she could take a picture blowing a kiss, to which she replied “I much just rather do it like this” which was fine by me (for the record, I asked if we could take a picture to send to my friend, didn’t mention the love part…) I didn’t mind it, but she passed it off so smoothly and quickly, that I might have not even noticed if I wasn’t listening. We took the pic, I said thank you and was on my way, it was TIME FOR FOOD (I apparently also didn’t resize this pic, so sorry if it’s huge)

IMG_0223.jpg

I sent it to Nick, and the previous day had sent him a castle pic asking “jealous” considering that when I went to WDW in Dec for the audition, he said that he felt like I was cheating on him going without him. However, I’ve invited him along to future trips, and it looks like he won’t be there until all of the Fantasy Land expansion is done! Here’s hopin’ for Jan 2013!!

I walked through to Morrocco next, where I tweeted this pic:

1581-1.jpg

With the caption “How did I get here so fast?!” And then headed into the Tangerine Café for some lunch. I had eaten here before, and considered through a couple of other things (with the help of my handy i-phone app that had menus!) but decided that I would go with the Mediterranean Sliders Combo “3 pita pockets, lamb, chicken & falafel with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cucumber & tahini sauce. Served with lentils, hummus & tabouleh.

158-1.jpg

It was pretty good, obviously, as it was not the first time that I had eaten it. Apparently it looked like I didn’t like it, which is understandable. I mean, I destroy my food when I eat, and the plate half the time looks more full thanks to the mess I had made. I got up to throw out the plate with the food I was too full to eat, and a young cm asked “Didn’t like it?” To which I said “No! It was great, I just can’t eat that much! Haha!” Yup…I felt kinda bad, thought he probably thought I was lying, but I promise you I wasn’t!

I peeked out to Jasmine & Aladdin’s line, to find that it was kinda long, and they weren’t even out right now, so I figured I would see them at MK later in the trip!

159-1.jpg

160-1.jpg

Yup…I could take millions of pics of this…both day & night, so pretty! I stopped in Germany briefly to check on Snow White’s line, but it was closed off. I had wanted to see if she would do the “Brandi pose” as she is Brandi’s favourite princess, (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, see the December audition trip). So I continued around the world, figuring I’d take in the sights before heading over to DHS. I stopped in Mexico to snag a picture of a poncho!

1612-1.jpg

A group of about 10 of us went out to Banff earlier this year, and all came home with various colors of ponchos exactly like this, and we got them for $15.00! We also like to call ourselves a wolf pack….cause we’re that cool. I looked around the corner, and all of a sudden, saw a majestic sight!! Mexican Donald!! EEEEKKK!! I have a love for Donald, specifically if he’s wearing funny costumes, he’s just so dang cute! The cm with him wasn’t the greatest, but that didn’t matter, I also realized why I don’t think I’d ever seen him before, he’s kinda hidden in a little nook over there!

161-1.jpg

Photo0058FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0060FourBySix-1.jpg

Seriously! So adorable!! I loved it! I headed around the lagoon with the intention of heading out the back exit and over to Board Walk. However, I had to stop for Mickey’s newest friend along the way. Again, there was only 1 family infront of me, and the line didn’t get cut off.

Photo0060FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0063FourBySix-1.jpg

I thought those were cute. Now, while it was just my turn to go up to say Hi to Duffy, the little boy behind me started to go running up, to which his parents were all “oh no, it’s not your turn…you have to wait…so sorry!” but I didn’t care, I mean, c’mon, I would be that eager at that age.

165-1.jpg

Photo0068FourBySix-1.jpg

Duffy was great!! He flirted, and acted all bashful, but the cm then reminded him that he has a lady friend now, and that he had to remember that! Yup, apparently he has a girlfriend. Also, I think meet & greets, especially with the “costumed” characters (versus the face ones) when the handlers & photopass are good, interactive people, the meet & greets are better!

Photo0065FourBySix-1.jpg

Photo0069FourBySix-1.jpg

We got some great shots, I got some hugs, and then said good bye, but not before getting a sticker! Heck yes, that’s right, even adults get stickers at Disney world!! And then I headed back towards the UK to head out of the park. However, Alice was due to be out soon, and the line wasn’t that bad, so I jumped in line to wait. Here, she ended up coming out at least 5 minutes late, and I almost considered leaving the line, but I love Alice (although that is some WEIRD movie…just re-watched it this year…so weird!!)

168-1.jpg

She was awesome!! Defintiely the best Alice that I’ve ever met, she looked sounded, acted the part, she was TINY (in case you didn’t notice, she’s a good half a head shorter than me, and she’s in heels, and I’m barely 5’4’’) TINY! She asked what my name was, I told her Katt, she said she likes cats, but to make sure to not to follow any cats anywhere, cause they’ll lead you on some crazy adventures. She also commented on how we were hair twins, and that I had very pretty hair!

169-1.jpg

We said good bye to each other, and I said good bye to Epcot! I love that park, but it was time to move on and I had some important rides to ride & shows to see over at my next park!!

I saw you post on another thread and was thinking that it had been very long since I had seen any kind of updates from you... turns out I somehow completely missed this TR!!!! :scared1: The horror!

Well now I'm here, and ready to catch up on what I missed.

Just hopped right in with no mention of the Disneyland trip???? A clever way to pique my interest for the impending TR? :lmao:

I hope the trip went well, and glad your back. You should totally tour WDW with my DD--the two of you are the ultimate character magnets! :thumbsup2

Wow, lining up for Belle with barely anyone in front of you is SUPER lucky. Her line is always ridiculous! But ooh she's a little creepy looking!

Alice in Wonderland IS a weird movie. I'm taking a class on it right now called "Looking Glass Math." It counts as a math credit? (don't know why.) But we do a bunch of random crap like latitude and longitude, symmetry, etc. It's all based on the Lewis Carroll version of Alice in Wonderland. But needless to say, I have bitter feelings towards that movie now because that class is SO BORING. And I'm realizing how strange the whole story is hahaha

Hahah! It has really been a while since I had posted, it's all been within the last couple of days! I really just need some time to catch up on everything now haha!

Haha! I was waiting to do a little "real life" update today! (probably right after this!) And a TR will be on it's way up hopefully later today as well!! The trip did go well, and I'm excited to get to WDW in a few weeks! Hahaha! We should definitely hit up a couple character lines in April! They make the trip more magical!!

I know!! I was so impressed with the lines, every trip I've made (May, Sept, Dec & Jan) and each time I didn't wait over 20 minutes for anything minus Rapunzel & Fantasmic! I don't kow how it managed, but it was great!!

I still like Alice in Wonderland, and the newer Tim Burton one I actually really liked (I think it's cause I could actually follow the plot line) but it is just weeeeiiirrd

Belle with a cape!! How cool! I wonder how much lassitude the face characters have in choosing which poses to do? I mean, I don't consider Belle to be a very flirty character, but I'm not sure if she said she wouldn't do the picture due to Belle's hesitations or her own.

And I just really want her cape.

Aw, I love Alice/that weird time in the Victorian era where everyone seemed to be on drugs/the literary nonsense genre. Like Flatland or Edward Gorey. I think it definitely takes a specific sort of mindset to really enjoy the book - I know I can only read it in certain moods, but to me it's like poetry? If that makes sense? Then again, I watched the Disney Channel original series about Alice in the '90s (which was way weirder what with all its 90s fashion) and enjoyed it, so maybe I'm just weird. :rotfl:

I honestly think it was her personal choice, which I understand thanks to the pose being blowing kisses. Sylvia & I got enough characters posing in the Brandi pose on the last trip, I'm pretty sure it was just her. I haven't read the book of Alice, only seen the Disney movies, and I enjoy them, but they are odd, I have to be in the right mood to watch them!

Your lunch looks super yummy! I might have to give that a try!!

It was pretty yum!! I usually can't decide what to eat at epcot, and it's a nice light, but filling lunch!

I just wanted to take a break from January, and pop into March for a little bit. First off, here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2891580 is my DisneyLand Resort Trip Report. I'll be doing it at the same time as this one, so progress might slow down a little bit, but I promise to be done by April 22! (Then a new one begins!)

Now, to summarize:

I had a great time on my DLR trip, but there are a lot of observations and opinions to share now. I ended up not :laughing:going to the audition, and that's honestly okay. I talked to some of the cast members down in Cali, and because in DLR whatever you audition for, you are ONLY doing what you get. Example, if I got the job, I would only be doing 1 parade a day, if that (DLR sometimes only, does parades on the weekends). Thanks to being Canadian, I wouldn't be able to do anything else down in Cali, and wouldn't be making a living. Boourns.

I did honestly book the trip to audition on a whim, and it SUCKS that I didn't wait, as they're having auditions for HongKong Disney down there at the beg of April. They're for character look alikes, and are a pretty sweet deal if you get the job, so that sucks!

Now, the trip was awesome, it was super crowded thanks to it being the weekend, and there being a cheerleading compeition, but crowds cleared out come Monday. There are a lot of differences between the parks, even the rides, and some I liked better, and some I really didn't. Overall, I like Disney World a whole lot better, but definitely would return to DisneyLand as well!

I started my walk down the International Gateway, and followed the signs over to the Boardwalk! I had walked from DHS to BW & back before, so I figured as long as I could find my way over TO the Boardwalk, I’d be totally fine!

170-1.jpg

171-1.jpg

I debated about taking the boat over once I had gotten to the Swan, but I would much rather walk (I know right?! Bonus of having a 3 day vacation) I knew I’d be eating a lot of junk in Disney, so some more walking would be great, not to mention, it was a gorgeous day out!

172-1.jpg

173-1.jpg

I’ve always wanted to go check out the Dance Hall, but from what I’ve heard, they just have video dances…like…MTV 1998 style. Now, since I’ve never been there, who knows, but I think it’d be so much more cool if it was based off like, an “older” swing jazz, you know, dance hall! But that’s just my opinion!

I’m pretty sure this was the first time I’d been to Boardwalk during the day, everything else had been at least in dusk, when all the lights were on. I really like how it looks at night, but it’s gorgeous during the day, I loved actually being able to see the resorts around that area as well. I crossed through the BW and continued on my way…or so I thought…I had clearly exited the boardwalk when I was supposed to turn left, but things weren’t really marked, so I just kept on going. Well, I ended up behind the Swan resort (maybe the Dolphin, I couldn’t even tell ya) but I could see the fact that the boat was going on the other side of the resort, so if I just cut across the pool deck & out to the road there, I’d be in the right place, right? Yup….not so much, I thought I was going in the right direction, until I saw Tower of Terror behind me, so I turned around, and figured I’d get there eventually, and then ended up on some main road, and I clearly couldn’t figure it out (even AFTER attempting to use the GPS on my phone) not to mention, I really had to pee!

I gave up. I walked back to the Swan, and found a bathroom, and then plonked myself down at the boat dock. Yup, I could now see the path where I had made the wrong turn, but I had been wandering around lost for at LEAST half an hour now, so I just gave up. The boat ride was a nice time, it was honestly nice to know I wasn’t going to get lost again, and to have some time to rest my feet. Although I do honestly feel like I can walk faster than those boats!

174-1.jpg

YAY! I MADE IT! After clearing quickly through the turnstiles, I booked it over to see this beauteous sight!

175-1.jpg

The wait was posted at 20 minutes, so I made sure to grab a FastPass before jumping into the line!

176-1.jpg

That’s the view if you ever look up in the hotel lobby! I actually really like the ceiling, it’s pretty cool! The ride was awesome! I’ve always said that they should install that TV screen (when you know the ride’s done) up higher so you can have one more really unexpected drop after. Well, on this ride, we went all the way to that screen, then FLEW back up and had one last drop!! GAH!! I love it….so so so much!

177-1.jpg

With my fast pass stored securely in my wallet, I decided that it was time for a snack, I was starting to get hungry, and we all know I’m not a CS fan in Hollywood Studios! So, where else to head but Starring Rolls!! I grabbed my favorite treat, and headed over to the Theatre Of the Stars in time to devour my snack before a show! It was about 3:15 by now!

178-1.jpg

179-1.jpg

That my friends, is the oh-so-famous Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcake! It. Is. AMAZING. So light & fluffy & moist. GAH, better than Crave, better than Cupcakes, the BEST EVER.

180-1.jpg

That’s how I eat my cupcakes when they have that much icing! When you leave it normally, you either bite more from the bottom, and get all cake, or you bite more from the top, and get too much icing. So I take off the bottom, put it on top & smush it all together to kind of make a sandwich and it balances out the icing to cake ratio! I thought it was adorable as, as I was eating it in the theatre, the little boy (under 2 I’d say) behind my suddenly became my best friend once he saw the cake I was eating. (He’d also been best friends with the girl beside me because of her diet coke  ) Adorable. Now, it was showtime!!

Just wanted to drop a line & update our September trip (this is the one with my mother)

We've booked AKL for 6night 7 day stay with a savannah view, with a 6 day park hopper (currently for both of us, I JUST remembered I have to call, and "downgrade" to the lowest possible days without cancelling the pkg, then upgrade her tix when we get there!) and the free dining plan!

SO, today I got up bright & early, and manage to book all of our dining & managed to get all the places & times I wanted!

Mon Sept 10th: Arrival:
-Boma @ 8:00pm

Tues Sept 11: Epcot:
-Le Cellier @ 2:30pm

Wed Sept 12: Disney's Hollywood Studios
-50's Prime Time @ 5:45pm

Thurs Sept 13th: Magic Kingdom
-Cinderella's Royal Table @ 7:15pm

Fri Sept 14th: Animal Kingdom
-Tusker House @ 9:30am

Sat Sept 15th: -Crystal Palace @ 8:20am

Sun Sept 16th:-Tony's Resturant @ 8:15pm

On Saturday we will do the breakfast at MK, and I orginally planned it to be pre-park opening so we could get some nice castle shots, but then noticed MK has AM EMH that morning, so we'll kinda still get them, but we'll see. We'll be heading over to AK & Epcot to re-do things after breakfast

-On Sunday we start at DHS in the morning, and then finish our trip off with PM EMH at MK. Hopefully the time of our dinner will help us kill time while the park clears out!

Can't you do a 3 day ticket for both you & your Mom and just let your Mom use both tickets since you have an AP???

The cupcake looks YUMMY!!!

And love your ADR's for your September trip... :thumbsup2

I have seen so many tasty looking pics of the Red Velvet cupcakes from DHS. It is a must-do for sure next time I am there.

That's a good idea! And I honestly don't know what I can and can't do with changing the tickets...it confuses me a whole lot

That cupcake is DELICIOUS! I think I'm going to stray from my normal and get the butterfinger one next time!

Thanks! I'm super excited to try all the new places!!

Cupcake sandwiches! I love doing that. It tastes so good and you get a more even distribution of icing with respect to the cake.

Ooh, Atlantic Dance Hall! I want to love it, but... it just doesn't seem to work. The best way to see inside seems to be to get invited to a wedding there. In the weddings section, there are some people who've had some really cool receptions (with nice dancing!).

Ugh, the friendship boats are so slow! Good call on the walking part. ;)

I agree, your mom should be able to use both tickets. I'm not sure what combination would be cheaper (2-day/4-day or 3-day/3-day), but as long as you don't activate the ticket on your room key with your fingerprint, your mom should be able to (it shouldn't matter for the dining credits or actual room access, or at least I can't think of a reason it should matter!).

THANK YOU!!! GAAAHH! So many of my friends think I'm SOOOO weird that I do it, and don't understand when I make cupcake sandwiches. That and 1 friend misunderstood, and took the bottom off, ate it, then ate the top...that's WAY too much icing. :rotfl2:

ACDH looks so awesome, and I wish it wasn't "video dance" style, if it was just a dance club, or like, a dance hall, with swing dancing, that'd be awesome.

The boats are just too slow, but I really didn't want to get lost again, so I figured it would be ok, plus, I was doing things at my own pace, so awesome!

Alright, well now I just need to call Disney and reorganize this stuff about tickets!!

When I left off, we were just about to be transported back in time to a world of a small village girl who falls in love! Also known as; Beauty & the Beast! Let me just start off by saying that Beauty & the Beast came through Broadway Across Canada earlier this year, and as amazing as it was, and I love the soundtrack, I honestly like this condensed 20 minute show at Disney World far better. It’s not that the talent lacked (although Lumier sounded way more like Prince Naveen than someone who’s from France) and it’s not that the plot line lacked or anything, but I love the bright colors, the animated-ness of the ensemble, and the choreography better out at Disney World. This is also one of my favorite things at Disney, I had supreme plans to be one of the dancers in this show, and was planning on auditioning for it next time auditions came around, but this week, I’ve gotten some unfortunate news. You have to be 5’6’’ to dance in the show. *super sad face* It superbly bummed me out!! I’m in the height range to dance in Dream Along With Mickey, which is great, but they’re only doing “substitute” roles for it right now, so it wouldn’t be worth it. I understand having to be an “ideal weight” or in a specific height range, but I thought 5’6’’ was a bit tall, especially as those girls are in heels.

ANYWAY, ramblings done, and on with the show!!

182-1.jpg

183-1.jpg

184-1.jpg

185-1.jpg

186-1.jpg

187-1.jpg

Yup…there’s my main man!!

188-1.jpg

And *that* would be the face I would make if I was in her shoes…this is one of my favorite shots of the trip!

189-1.jpg

190-1.jpg

191-1.jpg

“How can you read this? There’s no pictures?!” Gah, if any of you have seen/listened to the Broadway album, you’ll know the song “Me” that Gaston sings, HA! Hilarity right there! If you have no clue what I’m talking about, you should probably you tube it. Also, I just need to also interject here that in the Broadway show, Gaston is talking to the “silly girls” before he proposes to Belle, and he definitely says something along the lines of “Hey, just because I’m getting married doesn’t mean the *fun* has to stop”. Yeah….what a butt wipe! :rotfl:

193-1.jpg

194-1.jpg

That one makes me laugh…

203-2.jpg

205-1.jpg

207-1.jpg

211-1.jpg

And there we go! Love conquers all, the bad guy is defeated, and the beast realizes that it’s what inside that counts, and falls in love & is loved in return. Yay! The show was great as usual, but there were definitely some interesting things that went on throughout, which I texted to Nick in a message as I exited the theatre. It went something like this;
“Wow, that was the most gong showey show I’ve seen at Disney! In the first scene.song, Belle’s nose was either running hardcore, or it started bleeding. It was a new Gaston, and he just had an air about him that he was a “oh, look at me, I’m an *actor* in a Disney show, I get a mic!” feel to him. Not to mention, his mic was left up after he left the stage! Otherwise, great!!”

Yup… I thoroughly enjoyed it, and my applause & appreciation goes out to all the behind the scenes work! I honestly wonder if anyone says anything to the tech’s on their way out? Like, you walk RIGHT by them if you sat in the front half of the theatre. And the costume changers?!? I’ve been a quick changer at Jubilations for quite a few shows, and I can’t imagine the B&tB changes to be that easy! Props to them!

OMG, making a cupcake sandwich is an awesome idea! I totally have to steal it for next time.
