It's really busy at DL

I'm gonna be there Wednesday through Saturday. I'm guessing next weekend will be similar if the weather holds up. I'll have to maximize my weekdays.

I generally agree that it is usually crowded, BUT I went last Saturday and it was SO uncrowded for a Saturday and the weather was gorgeous. However, it was the one nice day surrounded by rainy days so maybe people didn't want to take a chance.

We were going to go today but glad we decided to run errands and do chores instead. I can't stand huge crowds!

Agreed - I don't think I would go so far as to say TP is always wrong or that it's always crazy crowded. The last few times over the last 6ish months that we've been, we've planned around big events/school breaks/etc. and wait times have been pretty minimal.

Many of the local high schools also had semester finals week last week. Nice weather, APs and the So Cal passes. Freedom....

It was shorts and a t-shirt weather for the first time in quite a while!

We will be there next week, Thursday - Saturday. I hope it won't be as bad then. I am hoping for scattered showers to keep the crowds away. Weather says 20% of rain those days.

Last year the crowd predictors didn't take into account the expiration dates of the CM holiday tickets and other comp tickets that expired at the end of January in large numbers. It could be the same this year.

I just checked touring plans, and it was a crowd 10 day for both parks. They predicted a 6 for DL at least.

Oh well, I adjusted my plan today a little and have a lot of wriggle room in it.

Today they predict a 2 day, I'll be happy if it is just a 6 day.

I am a little nervous for my trip next weekend. At first they were calling for rain Friday but that looks like it's gone, and Sat and Sun are said to be decent weather. That, with SB weekend, the continuation of MSEP AND the start of RDCT fireworks!

We were just there from Sunday to Friday. Sunday it rained and Monday it showered although we were always in a ride when that happened. Those two days (obviously) were best crowd wise. The last two years we have gone in May and I decided to book what I thought was an off time in January. The crowd predictions were a 2 up until Friday. I know Fridays are always busy, but I was very surprised about the rest of the week. I figure the parade had something to do with it as each time it ran the sidewalks were packed with people. I suppose if I had been mentally prepared for it it would have been fine, but going in January and getting May crowds was a little disappointing. In hindsight I wish it had rained all week. :)

Yup. Gonna be busy today. Spent 40 minutes in line just to park. The line of cars reached nearly to the freeway. Not looking good, folks.

We went the last week in January last year and I was very surprised how crowded it was. Earlier in the week was OK, but Fri & Sat were way more crowded that my trip the previous August!

Standby time for HSM is currently 115 mins. Pirates was closed earlier, as was Alice. We'll see how the day progresses.

Wow, they just announced that all viewing areas in the park are full, and ask people to wait for the second parade. I've never heard them say that before.

I've never heard of this before! It seems like they allow crowds to keep pushing and squishing until everyone is uncomfortable. You almost have to brace yourself to hold your spot sometimes. It must be crazy if they announce that all viewing areas are full.

...and Pirates is *still* closed :-(. Hope to ride it today before it goes down for refurb.

Hi all,. I've been in Tomorrowland all day. We've done everything in Tomorrowland once except autopia. I don't like that one. We were going to do Matterhorn but my son doesn'tlike that ride, and we got out of line. Taking advantage of fast pass helped. It doesn't seem as insane as yesterday yet, but it's still bad. We will go to SW launch bay in late afternoon, and maybe get fast pass for btmrr, since it's my son's favorite ride, and take rest of afternoon to relax.

The lines to get fast passes are long too, many machines are having issues.

I will be there at the same time as you & also am pretty worried it is going to be crowded. :( Also what is SB weekend?

Super Bowl ;)

It was once upon a time a slow time at Disneyland until word got out and now everyone goes on Super Bowl because they THINK it'll be slow. Past crowd calendars list it typically at 9s or 10s, so I knew that going into it but if the weather is nice - oy vey, it'll be PACKED. Luckily this is just a fun trip with my mom and we can take or leave most rides this trip and moreso just going to "get away". But I just tell myself I've been there on "10 days" even with 4 kids and it was a lot of fun - so just use the heck out of FPs and stay calm ;)

They did that last Sat also when I was there, at about 50 min before 1st parade. They had no more room in reserved viewing area. Wall to wall stacked with people.

Woo hoo! Pirates just opened for the first time today. If I'd noticed a minute earlier, I'd have been first in. Still -- on my way in now.
