I wish President Regan was in heaven instead of the private hell he is in now bedridden and without his mental facilities. It has been tough on his family and the country seeing such a strong important man in such poor heath.

I can not really celebrate his birthday like the rest of you!

I thought the EXACT same thing!! For anyone who has had a loved one suffer through Altzheimer's, it is the worse disease to watch someone go through. I liked to think that my "mom" was already in heaven before her body passed on. Only the shell remained.

I was thinking the same thing when I first read this thread but didn't have the right words to reply without sounding like a complete jerk about it....

A birthday celebrates the day a person entered this world. Long after people have died, we still celebrate the day of their birth. While I wish Prsident Reagan did not have to suffer and pray for his peace, I continue to celebrate the day of his birth. Celebrating his birth has nothing to do with his current health....even with his terrible illness, I'm still thankful he was born.
