Ok, so in anticipation of the possibility of another trip I created a countdown with big hopes!!! Well, as of today WE'RE ON OUR WAY :yay: Just made my reservation for November at the Fort. I'm 12 shades of happy right now!!!!

Congrats to you! We're going down for Christmas next year so you'll be there before us  Now comes the worst part.....watching the countdown for the next 10 months!!

You're not kidding! We haven't been back a month yet from our first trip, but I'm anxious already. It's going to be a long 10 months.

Aww the time will pass before ya know it :thumbsup2
And thats a great month to go too,, thats when I was born to fish. :lmao:

Congrats on yer ressies!

Thanks so much! Do you do much fishing at the Fort? What's in the lake?

Yes I do fish the Fort a lot.
We just went this Oct past for two weeks, I dropped a line in ALMOST everyday, but I actually went fish'n 9 times, and we all did pretty well too, :thumbsup2

In the lake ? Well , there are bream/sunfish (big ones),, bass (my wife caught them as big as 9 lb.),,catfish,,crappy,,gar,,pretty much run of the mill fish.

You are permitted to fish any Disney waters, lake, canals, ponds, without a fishing liecense. BUT no fishing from the DOCKS or the BEACHES.
In fact at the Fort you can rent fish'n poles , But you really are better off to bring your own if possible.

Also at the Fort marina they do fishing excursions,,the excursion is expensive, but if you can handle the cost, worth it in my opinion.
The excursion is two hours long, and normally you'll catch a lot of very large bass, :thumbsup2

Wow. I had no idea. Is it catch and release or is there a fish fry at your site nightly? My boys love fishing. We'll definitely have to bring our poles along.

A Disney fishing guide pointed out to us that it's Catch 'n Release on the lake,,but Disney doesnt say ANYTHING about the canals,,and the guide said if you catch fish you wanna eat, tell anyone who questions your fish that you caught them outta the canal.

Now, that being said,,I personally would not eat any fish outta Disney waters, for the past 30 years Disney has washed fertilizer, bug srays, cleaning fluids, washes EVERYTHING down nightly that ends up in the water, etc. It's true that nature ans water has a self cleaning process,,BUT Disneys lake and canals are small in area and I dont feel the lake can clean itself that fast.
There are others who would disagree with me. That Fishing Guide for one.

Good to know. Thanks so much for sharing your fishing info. The only one who would have an issue with catch and release would be my 5 year old. He's quite the little fisherman and thinks that everything should be cleaned and cooked---to include some of the minnows he's caught.
