Last night at skating a little girl was working on her routine. The music was the Disneyland Electrical Parade. The Mom mentioned something when she finished and I said "I love the music. But I'm a Disney freak" and showed her my Mickey sweatshirt. She looked at me like I was nuts. She obviously has NO IDEA what music her dd is skating to! (The coach most likely picked it.)
So now I'm not only a Disney freak but a dork as well.
ETA: My dd is skating to Heigh-ho. :-)

I've done similar things when I hear disney music (or music that disney uses-- like at wilderness lodge) So now maybe we should start the disney dork club huh??

great story.

you should have said your a "disney geek" a "disney freak" opens up a whole new picture

DH doesn't quite understand the Disney thing either, but he is getting it!

At least you're just a "DISNEY" dork...I'm just a dork in general!!

PS - Tracey, that's a beautiful picture of your family!!

Well, depending on her mood, my dd11 thinks I can be a dork in general too. :)

It must be contagious cause my dd thinks the same thing about me. ;)

That would make a great siggie - "The Disney Dork Club" :teeth:

I did the same thing sorta yesterday too. I was picking up my girls from school and a lady who's son is in my younger dd's class and I were talking. So Julia tells the mom something about our recent trip to Disney at Animal Kingdom. So she tells me she liked AK and brought up Tarzan (i'm a Tarzanaholic!) so I starting rambling on and on about how on our last trip, I noticed Jennifer Mcgill from Mickey Mouse Club is singing in the show now which lead the woman into telling me she didn't KNOW there had been a Mickey Mouse Club in the 80's and how she was considerably older then me... RED FACED, I tell her you'd never know she was 10 years older then me. Aye, I swear i'm such a dork...

I was on It's A Small World with my DD (15 months old) and I was sitting next to a woman probably in her 50's. I started pointing out the hidden Mickey's. I thought she's smile or ask more about them. I got a blank stare. I sure felt like a HUGE Disney Dork! Oh well. No pixie dust for her! ;)

:rotfl:

You should have seen me have an almost heart attack when I recognized her in the Vybe show at Epcot last year!! I tried to get my sister all riled up about it, but she never was as big an MMC fans as I was, so she like....was just sorta like.... "um...ok."

Me?

I sat there and video taped her.

Partially because I will forever be an *NSYNC fan, and she was friends with Joey, in addition to being friendly with her fellow Mouseketeers. I didn't know she did the Tarzan show now!!

It's scary how easy it is to reveal your inner dork, and especially your inner Disney dork. You know Claire de Lune? Like, the music? They play it at the end of Ocean's 11, when all the players are outside at the Fountains.

It's also part of the France show in Epcot. When you learn a famous piece of music as "the one that's in Epcot" before you know its proper name and composer, you know you're a Disney dork!

But, as my boy Clay says, "Was a nerd. Am a nerd. Will be a nerd. Forever."

Embrace it!!

LMAO Kylene... I took about 20 pictures of her for my twin sister who was just as big of MMC geek as I was.... I read when I got home she was in VYBE, how cool!

My whole family is a bunch of Disney Dorks. They no longer refer to Tchiakovsky's "Nutcracker suite" --it's "Fantasia". :rotfl: My kids know the real words to the POTC song (and it doesn't include "really bad eggs",either.) They'd rather go to Epcot than to Europe (that's actually sad...) DH shops for me at the Disney Store--and i love it! :lovestruc
