And I did it this morning before the kids were awake enough to notice, because I cried as I booked. Surely I'm not the only one who gets all teary eyed while booking a Disney trip?!? It's why I prefer to do it online and not on the phone.

We are booked in a LM room for 6 nights/7days. The countdown begins, 333 days until our trip.

And by driving down, and paying OOP for food, I am estimating we are saving about $1500-$2000. Also driving allows us to have the kids thinking we are going on a boring (to them) road trip to look at old plantation houses and Civil War battle fields until we are a few hours from Disney :rotfl:

I'm so excited! I went to Disney for the first time in March 2011, and I am absolutely hooked. I hope we can keep it a secret from the kids, because I really want them to be surprised with a Disney trip. It is an experience I think would be neat for a child and one I want them to have.

Sounds great.

We are surprising our son with a Disney trip for his birthday present. His birthday is 9/20 and our trip is 11/12. It is difficult not to just say something about the trip with him around. I caught myself a couple of times.

But yes, we get all excited too. Probably more excited than our kids. Is that wrong? haha.

did mine this am over the phone. very pleasant CM......

hard to keep from kids that long. we ended up suprising them at xmas with an envelope............

Congrats. We just went last November and we're hooked too.

I wanted so bad to surprise our kids with another trip but they're older, it takes more planning and I just can't keep a secret. Ugh!

Have a great trip.

We are booking this Saturday when the FD goes public.

When my kids were young we never told them we had booked a Disney vacation. We woke them up in the morning and said " hurry up, Mickey is waiting for us. They were so happy. I will never forget that day. Have a great trip. We leave on 9/17 for another magical vacation. Our youngest daughter is now 28. She and her husband are going with us!!!

Woooohoo! Great feeling! I too get misty-eyed when my Disney plans become official. It's a great feeling and these trips are so special to me because they are some of our favorite family memories.:goodvibes

I only cry when I have to make the final payment. And those aren't tears of joy.

We surprised our dds when they were younger too. Awesome trip! They know about this trip because they have to plan now and bring all their teenage things. :lmao: But they are very excited to be staying in an AoA LM room before our Dream cruise. Hope everyone has a wonderful 2013 vacation!!! :goodvibes

Congratulations. I don't get teary-eyed until it's paid for, but that's just b/c it isn't real until then.

I do have trouble sleeping the night before I book. And I get this super-elated feeling when I get done booking.

Have a great trip. I am sure the kids will love it.

I"m booked too - we are doing All Star Movies, boys love it so I"m not changing, austic boys so changing the hotel might upset them & I think the AoA may be too much for them (I wonder if I could go without the boys & stay there)

My kids know we are trying to plan on going next year, but I am going to do my best not to tell them once we are booked (have to wait a few days for our rates to be released). We will be going in Oct 2013, and we might tell the kids over the younger two bdays next year (August), by giving them the WDW for Kids books. Just a thought.

We have never been to WDW, but DL many, many times. Does LM mean Little Mermaid room at AoA? We will be booking a Lion King room.

Yes - I love the look of the suites but they are too pricey for us. We briefly thought of staying in a mod so that we could have queen sized beds, but Art of Animation is just so cute I couldn't resist.

Booked our stay at POFQ for May with a AAA discount. Let the countdown begin.

We booked our trip for February today also! So excited and our kids don't know about the trip either, as we plan on surprising them at Christmas. We want it to be special, since it's our first trip for all of us, and also, if they knew this early, it would kill them with anticipation to wait until Feb! SOOO excited. I didn't get misty eyed making reservations, but everytime I talk about how the kids will react with my husband I get very teary. I think I may really cry when we get there!
