It's official, I won a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Western Caribbean in March. The company I work for is taking the top 10 Managers on this trip and I am so excited, I can't stand it. I worked my rear off. Ha! We have never been on a cruise, so any advice or suggestions will be greatly welcomed. It's a 5 night cruise to Cozumel & Grand Cayman.

Congratulations! I don't have any thing to advise (I have yet to take my first cruise - coming up in March!) - but do read the other posts here - as much of the info would seem to apply to any cruise you might take in the caribbean!

Have a great time. :)

Congratuilations!! These boards are wonderful for any infomation you could ever need. Everybody on here is so helpful if you need to know anything specific or just in general. Another site I found to be good too is www.cruisecritic.com, they also have a board but I don't go there often I just love this one, and we're not going on another cruise until 2004, unless I win the lottery;) Not likely so I'll just have to keep saving pennies. Hope you really enjoy yourself.:bounce:

We didn't cruise on RCCL but we were on a cruise to Cozumel and the Western Caribbean, it was on Carnival.

We enjoyed a stop at Key West and then in Cozumel, we took a shore excursion to the Mayan Ruins, it was very interesting.

We cruised in late February and the humidity and heat were still enough to drag us down. It was about 85 degrees F but the humidity was somewhat high.

Anyway, congratulations on winning a cruise!

Littlehero'smommy,
I have taken several RCCL cruises (I actually met my wife on a RCCL cruise in Alaska). We've never had a bad experience on them before. Beautiful ships! DEFINITELY get off the ship in Grand Cayman! It's beautiful! Lots to do . . . swim with stingrays (fun), or just rent a jeep and explore the island (it's only 20 miles across, and you can see the ship from anywhere on the island, so you can't get lost). Visit Hell (not kidding) and try to do some snorkeling (it's the diving captial of the world). Our only complaint is that RCCL doesn't seem to stay there long enough (from 8AM to 3PM the last time we were there). Cozumel was nice too, but while we were there (February) it was so hot you could hardly stand it . . . with a 6 month old, it wasn't the best experience, but it was beautiful! My only advice is to enjoy yourself!! I'm sure you'll love it! Congratulations!! Do you know what the name of your ship is?

Thanks! SuperDisneyDad-The ship is Monach of the Seas. We will be in Cozumel from 8:00- 4:00 and Grand Cayman from 11:00- 5:00. I wish it were longer. Do you happen to remember the cost of the shore excursions, like swimming with the stingrays at Grand Cayman? I hope to find out more info tomorrow. The company booked the trip last September for the group, so I hope we get good cabins.

We were on the Majesty of the Seas which is the sister ship to Monarch. They're exactly the same . . . you'll love it! Beautiful ship. The swimming with stingrays excursion was $31 per person in 1997. We actually got 75% of our money back because the tour ran late so we only got to swim with the stingrays for about 20 minutes rather than an hour. I would recommend it . . . a great experience. The boat ride from shore to the sand bar where the stingrays are is nice too. You pass right by Jack Nicholson's $7 million pink mansion! Bring your disposable underwater camera for close-up shots!!

Congrads you will have a ball I did RCI Explorer last NOV IT WAS GREAT . do visit the RCI boards at Cruise Critic also try cruisemates I got alot of help there for my RCI cruise

Definately do the stingray city in GC it is not to be missed. The first time there I took a ship trip the second time I booked with a guy on the dock it was a little cheaper .

Chankonaab State Park in Cozumel is nice good snorkling . But check the boards ask ?'s see what appeals to you. Have Fun !!!

Congratulations! It's nice to hear that some employer's do appreciate their employees hard work and dedication! Enjoy your cruise!

Hi What company do you work for? My husbands company is doing the same thing in March for the employees who made quota. Happy Sailing
