'It's not a grope, it's a freedom pat"

:thumbsup2 I'd bet they aren't getting all the thrills some think they are. I wouldn't want their job, including all the remarks they must have to hear. That said, maybe it's my age, but it won't bother me either.

Yeah. . .I'm 45 and divorced. I'm going to opt out of the scan on purpose. . the groping better be epic. :thumbsup2

But would it upset you if they separated you from your 3 yr old and proceeded to pat her/him down. . .while they were screaming bloody murder?

They are getting a lot of grief over this but they're just trying to keep abreast of the situation.

;)

I can think of something else I'd like to write to them :rolleyes1
The bumper stickers are funny. This comment isn't. The difference? The bumper stickers are for general public entertainment (while still expressing one's opinion of the entire process). The clearly-implied "something else :rolleyes1" would be directed at individual TSA Agents who have as much control over the entire policy as do individual passengers.

I would not be happy about it. We did have to step aside (but were right there) when they wanded my granddaughter in the past). Are they now pulling kids way aside and away from parents (I've only seen one video with a young child, and his dad stayed right with him) to do the general pat down (they aren't doing the more thorough ones on kids under 12 at this time).

So does that mean you would volunteer to get on the plane that was letting all passengers on with no screening?

No, it means I would happily volunteer to get on a plane where the passengers were screened with the old process.:goodvibes

It might be funny to someone :goodvibes. Jeez!

Love those....I wonder what a poor TSA agent would say if I had any of those on my carry on luggage.......tempted....but knowing my luck I'll get that one TSA agent who wouldn't find it funny.

I get to fly Monday so I am "dying" to see what all the hoopla is about. My last "freshness" with a random stranger was earlier than this year in Ireland - there is no way this can be more intrusive than that.

What does no security screening have to do with it? Most of us against the new policies aren't against security as a whole. We were fine with the way it was. I don't even mind that they have the naked image machines when there is reason to use them. There would have to be probable cause after going through the detectors or regular pat down.

Of course anyone who doesn't like what we have to say, has to go completely the other way. I've even read that we should have planes without security for us who don't like the new procedures and they wouldn't care if we got blown up. Who says that? That's when the discussion goes from debate to just plain sick. There's no need for that.

I do think those sayings are funny though, because I don't plan on using the TSA.

That's right....

This has absolutely nothing to do with 'no screening'....

It has EVERYTHING to do with the complete violation of one's person and our constitutional rights. Without a provable 'probable cause', we are supposed to be safe from the violation of our person and our personal property. ( illegal search and seizure )

To those who welcome this new violation, based on fear...
I have this to say....

Yes, I am going to cross that proverbial line here.....
Hitler knew well that the way to take away freedom, and usurp complete control, was to conjure up FEAR.

I would say, 100%, without a doubt...
That this violation is doing absolutely NOTHING to keep us any safer.
Like the enemy isn't smart and imaginative enough to come up with other ways to try to work their evil....

When they take away our freedoms....
We are no different than they are...
And, they have won.

Absolutely True!

If you want to see some other really funny bumper stickers, etc. go to the Cafepress website. Warning some of these may offend some people.

I think that you need to read the fine print the next time that you buy a ticket. YOU give up those rights of your own free will when you choose to fly in the US. You agree to undergo the screening required by the TSA.

The government is not coming to your house to do this. You are going to an airport and asking for it. ;)

That is EXACTLY what is so disturbing....
The government is requiring citizens to SIGN OVER OUR RIGHTS.

The rights that they are supposed to be defending, they are trying to force us to willingly sign over.

And, make no mistake, travel is a huge component of our freedom.

We shouldn't have to forfeit our Constitutional Rights to go eat turkey at grandma's, take a vacation, travel on business, etc...

This issue re: the Government -vs- Civil Rights was the number one concern of our founding fathers...
It is just as important today as is was then. Even more so.
