It's just ONE night...CSR or Poly?

I just booked Poly for 1 night before a FW trip. I have CSR booked and was going to cancel since I got Poly. Negative reviews of Poly (and the cost difference, since we got a great deal on CSR) have me second-guessing.

Reasons for Poly? I have always wanted to stay there. Since I was a little girl. I started planning Disney trips because of my desire to stay at Poly. We simply cannot afford it for longer than one night. We are staying 11 nights this trip.

Reasons against Poly? Price difference. Negative reviews. Short stay.

Because of our plans for the next few years, I seriously don't see us getting back to WDW for about 5 or 6 years. (Or if we get back, it would be a VERY low budget camping trip.) It could be even longer than that.

I can't decide what to do! Particularly since reading some negative reviews. I'm all about 70's Polynesian theming, for what it's worth. :) I lived for sitcom episodes where the family went off to Hawaii. (Growing Pains, The Jeffersons...)

Any advice? Kids would love either Poly or CSR.

Thanks

Meg

For one night, its a perfect opportunity to try a resort you always wanted to try. Go for it!

If you've always wanted to stay at the Poly then, by all means, stay at the Poly! [You just really want someone to tell you it's ok - right?!]:)

I think so. Either that or I want someone to knock some sense into me. It's $227 more per night. I got a AAA rate for CSR. Rack rate for Poly.

I have decided to do that. On our next trip, we are trying out 2 resorts that are normally out of my price range, because we want to experience them at least once. We are staying 2 nights at CR Tower MK View where I got a great AAA rate and 2 nights at AKL where I got a great AP rate.

Someday.....The Grand Floridian :cloud9:

I am glad you decided to stay at Poly. I have never stayed there but have always wanted too. We took the monorail there last trip and it is so gorgeous. I would definitely stay there instead of CSR if I had the opportunity. Plus, like you said, you have always wanted to stay there. Have a great time!! My aunt and uncle always stay there when they visit WDW. It's like there is no other resort. They LOVE it. I hope you do too!!

The Poly has and always will be our favorites!! We have a great time EVERY time we stay!! I say go for it! :cool1:

Well I'll throw my negative butt in here. What's the point? Go hang out at the Poly for the day if you want. (no not swimming or anything) but just sit and relax and take in the atmosphere. I mean, what are you expecting to 'get out of the 1 night' at the Poly? Are you not doing anything else that day but Poly'ing? Now if the swimming thing is a biggie and it's worth the extra $200 and some bucks then go for it. Seriously, what cant you enjoy at the poly just by hanging out or paying the cash to do it? Swimming and sleeping is all I can really think of..

I agree, why waste 400+ dollars to sleep. I'd stay at CSR and have a great time!

Yeah, I'm still torn and tempted, but $270 more is a LOT of money for the chance of having warm enough weather to swim and a bed. DH is actually concerned that we'll end up getting so spoiled that we'll be grumpy in our tents anyway.

So it's still up in the air. I want to decide by the end of the day because I don't want to hold on to a ressie that someone else is looking for. I'll let you know what I decide! The important thing for me to remember is that we'll be at WDW no matter what!

I personally think staying 1 night at any Deluxe Resort in WDW does not give you enough time to really experience it, however since you always wanted to stay at the Polynesian and can only afford it for 1 night then I say go for it. :thumbsup2
