Hola. Que pasa?
I second that request for parents of pre-teens!
Swedish Meatball - my lunch problems yesterday were due to computer issues. At the end of each month I go through all of our firm's systems and make sure they're all updated. It was data cleanup, minor troubleshooting, Microsoft Windows XP updates, Microsoft Office updates, and Antivirus updates - all the livelong day. It usually takes me 3-4 hours to do it all. I have 15 computers to go through, and yesterday's tasks took me much longer than usual due to all the security patches & updates released for the impending BlackMal (a.k.a. Nyxem or Kama Sutra) worm. I've got a lot of the tasks automated, but there is still a lot to do and I'm the only one here to do it. I've got everybody instructed on when & how to clean up older & unnecessary data, but some people are better than others in this regard. Funny how they didn't teach me this crap in Architecture School. On my near-term Wish List is to hire somebody to help me out with that sort of thing.
Usually if I don't eat lunch by 1:00 or so I'll just grab a banana (seriously) or a small bag of chips and just wait for supper. It is my own hardheadedness. There's plenty of places around the office to grab a quick bite to eat - just on this block there's a Subway two doors down, a gyros stand & an oriental place a little farther down, and a noodle bar & a pizza joint across the square. I've also got my own "Emergency" stash of nukables in the freezer too - nothing sounded appetizing or worth the effort to stop what I was doing (I was in a computer-geek groove, dude).
Never fear for GoofyDad - supper was a huge cheeseburger, fries and ice cream at a local mom & pop's-style restaurant. It was awesome!
Today is our monthly financial lunchtime meeting for the partners of the firm (all three of us, with our bookkeeper KAMommy). We'll be eating
good today.
