It's DINING, not Dinning

Many people do make this mistake, occasionally myself included. I think it's because people think of the word DINNER when spelling DINING. Sure there are pet peeves that we all have. But at the end of the day most people aren't going to change their bad spelling/grammar to please a nameless person on a vacation forum. Try to let it go. (hee hee see what I did there)

Where is the sticky on "lose" vs. "loose" going to go? ;)

Dining is what you do when you eat a meal. Dinning is what you do when you make a loud, unpleasant and prolonged noise.

Can we make this a sticky?
If not a sticky, maybe a thread that can be referenced without comment :D whenever a misuse appears.
I’d say this is (supposed to be) a pretty casual and friendly forum. Not sure why we’d want a sticky scolding people for spelling mistakes. As long as we can understand peoples' questions there’s no need to let it bother you.
As the 1962-1963 Classroom 2A Spelling Bee Champion, misspelling irks me. But the thread doesn't have to be scolding - merely advisory.

How does dinner (short vowel) turn into dining (long vowel)? I’m not asking anyone to “please” me on these forums. It’s a little, elementary spelling PSA.
