ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

We have a package booked for Nov 13-18 POR with tickets. If FD comes out, will I have to pay the increase in ticket prices to add the promotion?

Unfortunately, yes. Happened to me last year. When you call to add the discount (whatever it may be), they hit you with the higher ticket price.

I never noticed a higher ticket price. From what I understand, the free dining promotion requires you to pay the rack rate for your room and tickets. I think you still get the small discount for park tickets if you buy multiple days though. So if you have some kind of other discount like a room discount, those will be removed to make room for free dining. If you do the math it works out great for a lot of people. For others, the room discount is better.

Let's say that there is a slim chance you could catch a break on free dining. Last year the November offer expired on the 23rd which was a Saturday. The week immediately following that was Thanksgiving week, a week when free dining is never offered.

This year the 22nd falls on a Saturday. Again, the following week is Thanksgiving week. As long as your check-in date includes free dining, then the rest of your stay regardless will include that offer. If I were you and it we possible I would plan on arriving on Friday just to be safe.

Thank you! I must now debate whether or not it is worth it to add another day to the beginning of our trip :) I really hate waiting for discounts. This past October the whole week we were there were blackout dates! My luck!

DD School schedule finally came out!!! So it is confirmed she is off on Nov 3rd and 4th!! So I can book 5 days and 4 nights now and she will only miss one day of school!

Booking this weekend for POR (Royal Rooms)!!:cool1:

Then I will be watching for a discount to apply asap!!!! Woot!!:thumbsup2

Come on Fall discounts!!!:cheer2:

Hopeing we can return this November, fingers crossed for Discounts!

Joining the thread, cause i'm watching, wishing and worrying for free dining for the fall. BTW, doe free dining ever occur during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival? :coffee:

just got home from pofq on a dining pin. our first time on property and it was pure magic. i am legitimately obsessed now. fingers and toes are crossed for free dining but no matter what we're back in the world nov 29th at either csr or aoa. i am suffering from some serious Disney depression. MICKEY TALKS NOW and my son took his very first steps on the day he turned 9 months in our building 4 garden view room at french quarter. i NEED TO GET BACK THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! lol sorry for screaming. so here i am, joining in on the impatiently waiting!!

Watching and waiting. I just read that the Food and Wine Festival has been extended until Nov 10! This will be the first time I would be there for it. Now I have to join that thread too!

So now I am hoping that the park hours for Nov are released before May 6 so I can plan. Someone said to me at work that all the planning sounds like too much work for a vacation. IMO I am loving the thrill of it!

Planning is almost as fun as being there! *almost* lol. We are very excited here. We just got our tax refunds deposited and just used it to pay for 90% of the trip! Such a great feeling! :yay: It's within our grasp all we have to do now is save our pennies for flight, dogs week at the spa and spending money...and of course anxiously wait for free dining to be released!

I personally was able to go to the F&W fest more than 10 years ago. I loved it and was planning on it this year. But when I reviewed the crowd calendars and the fact that free dining during F&W might not work out for us for when we wanted to go in Nov., I decided to pick a less crowded week in November. (13-20). Who knows, maybe they'll extend it again and we can catch a piece of it. Otherwise we'll just have to create our own F&W fest!

Oh I agree, it CONSUMES me every day!!! I Love every minute of it!!! It really is like a part time job for me!!! (Except I pay them!!!) lol I just want to talk everything Disney!! Just think, we were just there in November/December, and by January I was already planning this November's trip!! It's going to be a fun 8 months with all of us planning and getting excited together!! November will be here before we know it!!

Definitely on board joining you.

We are scheduled to arrive at AOA December 22, 2014. If Disney offers FD for up to this date is it worth me trying to get it changed from the reservation we already have? How would I find out what the cost difference be to be worth the trouble of changing the reservation, if it even happens this year?

I am brandy new to all of this, but I will join as well. Hoping to have a Disney vacation this year or spring next year..:cool1:

The wait is killing me!! I'm just glad I can finally say I am going this year. I just learned about pin codes and called to see if I had any about a month ago. I had 2 but not for November. I had my sister call who is planning on going with us. Her CM hinted that FD might work out for her. He said he just had a feeling she would get lucky. Now if she gets FD and I don't I will beat her!! ;) If one of us gets the pin can we book rooms together under one name and get it as a group? Impatiently waiting to see if I get another pin.:bored:

Just price out room/tickets on the Disney site and that would be what you would pay with free dining. Take that price and compare it to what you will be paying rack rate room/tickets. Since you probably won't get any other type of discount during your dates then yes, it would be worth watching for FD to be released and calling back changing to the promotion (if offered). I would not wait till FD is announced to make dining plans, do that as soon as you can, you can always modify those or cancel.

For the first time, I'm going to wait to book to see if I receive a pin. I booked early last trip and didn't get one. We usually go in Sept and I received Sept for this year, but planning end of Oct/First week of Nov this year. It's so hard not to book.

Well I decided to get the Disney Visa card and it arrived today!!! Free dining is offered to Disney visa card holders before everyone else. It'll only get me a few days head-start for free dining when it is offered to the general public but hey, maybe that means I'm not on hold for as long.:confused3 I can't wait to use it while i'm there. pixiedust:

We are Charter members of Disney (Chase) Visa. We have never gotten any free dining offers. Never gotten any PINs.

Anyone know why?

I'm joining in. We're hoping for FD the week after Thanksgiving. We did it in 2012, and it was our best trip ever.

Regards,
C.
