Hey everyone,

Hard to believe that it has been a little over 6 years since I wandered around the DISboards.
I was sad to hear that people are no longer allowed to ride in the front of the monorail. I got to do it for the first time on my last trip. It was something I had wanted to do since I was a kid.
Our last trip to WDW, we swore the next time we returned would be with a child of our own. DW even made a wish during Wishes.
Well, it took longer than anticipated. But after some losses
and health challenges
, it's going to happen! Our little man was born December 15, 2011.
Don't tell my wife I'm showing you guys this photo. She thinks she looks terrible. But they're both beautiful.
His first year, he was nuts about Elmo. And what toddler isn't? But one fateful day, we decided to drop our cable TV and use only online streaming. I loaded up Mickey Mouse Clubhouse from Amazon Prime streaming, and Elmo became chopped liver.
This kid is Mickey CRAZY! All I have to do is tell him ROLL CALL and he rattles off DONALD DAISY PLUTO GOOFY MINNIE MICKEY! I showed him some video of the Town Hall Mickey with the animatronics and he kept saying MICKEY MICKEY MICKEY!
Lately we have watched some of the classic cartoons, and he cracks up at Chip n' Dale tormenting Donald.
Once we saw how nuts he is for Mickey and friends, we knew it was time to get plannin'. We know all about the October season, so that's our target. Most likely will be the last week of October, to avoid work deadlines for us both. DW said we should stay at CR because it's walkable to MK. I've wanted to stay at CR since I was a kid! I know it's not the most themed hotel, but I grew up with Star Wars and all of the Sci-Fi stuff in the 70s and 80s. I am all about CR!
So even though this trip is all about our DS, DW and I get some magic too. We are thrilled to see the World through his eyes. I'm going to bring a backpack full of Kleenex for all the happy tears.
Group hug, everyone!
