Hi everyone. We had a storm move through Friday night, and our camper and my DD's car didn't make it. The fire department stopped yesterday and confirmed that it was a tornado. We didn't have any damage to the house, and no one was hurt, so we're very thankful that this is all that we have to deal with. Our neighbors lost their barns. We're supposed to leave for Disney in less than 4 weeks, so we could have a problem if the insurance company doesn't total the camper. There's no way it could be fixed in time to leave. The RV service guy said that he's sure it'll be totalled, but I won't stop worrying until we know for sure. We have a new camper picked out, so we should be able to move fast once we get the totalled ok from the insurance company. After seeing the camper, I'm going to be a little afraid of storms while we're camping. That thing crumpled like a cardboard box!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's on the Boards! :flower3:

Yikes! Glad everyone is ok! What part of Ohio do you live in? I'm in southern Ohio and we had terrible wind yesterday but no storms thankfully.

We'll be in Disney in about 4 weeks too! Hope the insurance company totals it (I'm sure they will...had a friend that had just some hail damage on their camper last summer and they totaled it and got a new one fairly quickly!

Hi there, we're on the northshore of Lake Erie in Ontario and we too got hit with horrific winds. I watched our trailer thinking it would be hit.... Hydro pole out front and a tree behind our property fell but thankfully our big maples stood strong and nothing happened...
I pray your insurance moves quickly and thankfully no one was hurt!!
Crossing my fingers for you guys!!

Glad everyone is OK,, Campers can be replaced, hopefully before you trip is scheduled. We had the wind storm last night while camping, had some gust of up to 60 mph according to the park manage, no tornado's take goodness.

Thanks for all the kind words. They're very appreciated right now! We live about 25 miles North of Dayton. We got in our car yesterday and followed the path of damage. I don't think there were any injuries, thank goodness. You'll see a huge happy-face on the boards as soon as we know we can still go on our trip!

Thankfully no injuries. Keeping fingers crossed for you that things will go smoothly and quickly.

Oh, wow! Glad that everyone is safe. Praying that you hear something very soon! :)

WOW! These pictures are a little :scared1: So glad to hear everyone is safe! Hopefully, the insurance company will do the right thing.

I was wondering, you mentioned a neighbor losing their barn(s), did they also suffer the loss of precious live stock? I do wish them well and everyone else in your town!

Here is a little pixiedust: and a :rainbow: to brighten your day!

You live west of us....we are near Chillicothe. Usually we get a lot of our weather from the Cincinnati/Dayton area....whatever happens there, we usually get a few hours later!

Whoah - that's some scary stuff!!! So glad your home and all of you are ok, and hopefully the insurance will come through quickly so you can put this all behind you and enjoy the Fort in your new camper!:tinker:

Wow! I'm so glad the things that were damaged are replaceable. If you or your family members had been seriously injured, or worse, you wouldn't be worrying about if you can go on vacation in a few weeks.

This is a good lesson for all of us to remember that RV's are nothing more than sticks and staples. Bad storms = get out of RV & take cover in a solid building.

Sorry about the troubles, and glad no one was seriously injured. Kind of tough to see the TT pics...our first TT was a Conquest that looked just like yours, only different floorplan. Makes it hit a bit closer to home I guess. As stated previously, our RV's are NOT the place to be in storms.

Glad everyone is okay.
Bummer bout the camper and car,,4 weeks is still a goob bit of time,,they should come thru for ya'll,:thumbsup2
