I agree with you Cat as far as the fastest finger question is concerned. I've witnessed many people, including children getting into the hotseat by answering the fastest finger question in well under 2 seconds, which means they just randomly answered the question and were lucky enough to get it right.
But while competing along with the hotseat contestant, you can get into the hotseat, if you're correct AND fast! When I say fast, I mean you have to decide on the answer and push the right button BEFORE the lights come on. If you wait to push the right button until all of the answers appear, you will generally be too late. This leads to the best way to get an advantage, and if there are enough of these questions during a round, I can usually tell if I have a good chance of getting into the hotseat. That's when the correct answer is D, and you just have to take a chance and go for it before the answer comes up. You just have to rely on the process of elimination. It's also to your advantage to go to one of the early shows in the morning when the house is not full and there is less competition.
Good luck on your next try, and you can be sure I'll be there shortly after arriving at WDW on May 3rd!
