It's Back-January Trip-A-Day Contest!

I just got an e-mail from Disney Destinations-but it was just a reminder to start making my plans. We are going next Friday and it reminded me to book the EPCOT Illuminations Dessert Party. The last thing I need is to be eating more desserts, let alone paying to eat more desserts. Me and my husband are like that old commercial, where your kids cannot figure out why we keep going back to Disney-seriously-we have a blast.

WAIT!!!! you are going for Valentines day!! AWWWWE!
That's pretty close to going with a night in the castle.
Good for you.

Edit: Oh never mind....that's a week off. Unless of course you will be there until that following weekend.
Well have fun. Can you imagine being down there and getting the email you won? Now that would be super pixie dust.

We've been mulling where to stay... when we win :thumbsup2 *sigh* there's only a couple days left so I can only hope and cross my fingers and toes we get picked!

If we win we'd tack onto our existing Sept vacation if possible and we're already spending a week at BLT so I am mulling trying GF or Poly. We also really love BWV so maybe we'll see what the BWI side is like or BC.

Honestly I just can't decide. I can think of a reason to stay at all of the resorts!

I just got an e-mail from Disney Destinations-but it was just a reminder to start making my plans.

I got a Disney Destinations email too about Paradise Pier at DLR. I just started researching a trip there since they announced all the 60th anniversary fun they'll be having this year. We've never been to DLR and I'd love to experience all of that! Anyway, my heart skipped a beat for a second when I saw it. The really sad part is that after checking my email I went right into DH's. He had the same email and I still got excited for a moment.

I entered fine yesterday and today. I will try to enter tomorrow though I am not sure either if those entries even matter. I did not think I would win, had very little hope of winning, so I am not too let down.

I have to share that I feel like I won a trip even though I didn't. So we just got back in December (from my aunt's winning trip...otherwise we could not have afforded to go last year), and my dh found out he has to go to a conference in April. My dh never has to travel or go to conferences so this is out of the ordinary. Well, guess where it is!?! The Contemporary!!!! We will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in June and had wanted to take a kid-free trip (never have) so I am going with him and we'll stay a couple extra days!! His airfare is covered, mine was with points, all nights but one of the room are covered and his meals. So, it is *kind* of like winning!! No night in Cinderella castle but that is ok...maybe another time :goodvibes

I LOVE WDW conferences :cool1::cool1:. We're being "forced" to stay at the GF over Spring Break ;). Actually, I took over planning my DH's conferences a few years ago. He's required to get a certain number of CMEs, and his work gives him $$ to spend to do them. I am always on the look out for good conference locations :thumbsup2. So far, we've done Disneyland, WDW, Hawaii, and Jackson Hole, WY. Did I mention I LOVE DH's work?!!

I feel the same way. After tomorrow, no more chances to enter.

My family goes to Disney a lot. I just really wanted to give my girls the chance to stay at the castle. They love the princesses.

I just hope that the people that win fully appreciate how special the castle stay is.

This is actually where I feel conflicted about winning (if I"m lucky enough to win), I have very little interest in staying in the castle. I love princesses and castles, but I HATE Cinderella and the castle suite just didn't excite me. I also have two boys.

I'd love to win because it would make our trip a little more affordable (we could fly instead of having to drive), but if we don't win we'll still go. And as I said, I"m not sure we'd pick a Deluxe hotel anyway, because of our party size. Winning would be awesome, but I'm ok with not winning.

"forced" :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:
I don't know what a CME is but sounds like a great job.

LOL!!! All I want is the castle stay. We have DVC and can stay in any deluxe resort, depending on how we want to use the points (more points per night, then the less days we can stay).

Since we get a villa with full kitchen, I kind of prefer driving. It saves us money because I can bring a case of water, food and snacks with us. We are in TX so the drive isn't too bad. And airfare for a family of 4 is outrageous, especially from Austin.

We are going in March and staying at Boardwalk. And of course driving there. I think if I won, I would go in June for my 10th wedding anniversary. A castle night then would be so special.

At least you have boys and don't have to worry about everything Frozen and anna & elsa!!

I missed your party size, but if it were me, I'd be bringing people that will watch the boys if they are not interested in the Castle and make it a nice little get away night for me and DH. it would be nice to be pampered for a night just the two of you. We have considered just going to the two of us if we win.
Princess Misha you can make up your own fairytale.

I know I know if you win you are not going to pass up the vacation.

OK, after years of stalking these boards all January like a creeper, I finally decided to join in the conversation. It's so fun to watch all these people win, and makes it seem so much more possible! I'm going to be really sad once this sweepstakes finishes and you guys stop chatting about it. :)

I don't like uploading pictures, either. Maybe if it was like this sweepstakes, where there's a winner every day, but with that one, you can upload a picture every day, and there's only going to be one winner. So the odds aren't as good, AND I have to post my pictures? Ehh.....

I am going to be sad when this contest is over. I like "buying a lottery ticket" everyday without actually have to spend the $$. I really hope more people from this site win. I have really enjoyed the conversations the winner have been having.

And if winners are still trying to compare resorts...I stayed at Bay Lake for the first time in 26 trips over the past 7 years. I would definitely recommend staying on the monorail or Beach Club (for the pool alone). It is an experience not to be missed, especially if Disney is treating. You could always extend your trip by a day or two and stay at AKL, just to stay there and enjoy the resort and watch the animals. But to tour the parks, nothing beats the monorail or walking to Epcot!

Here's another WDW contest you all may be interested in...http://partners.disney.com/share-your-disney-adventure

The prizes look great but I never love the idea of uploading pics online so I hate that the competition requires a picture upload. What do other think about that?

I share the ehh on the uploading a picture. I don't have cute little guy pictures. Although I have a really sweet one of my husband all happy and exploring Tom Sawyer Island for the first time. LOL He's wearing a tshirt that says "The Code never bothered me anyway" ;) He's a Software Engineer. One of his coworkers bought it for him to wear at Disney. LOL

But I don't know that I will enter that contest. I'll let someone with little kids win that one. :-)

I'm pretty sure I read the rules and this is just a drawing contest so the pic doesn't have to be cute- just entering one gives you an entry. Less people enter these so the chances can be better.

There is another Disney contest though where the pic is being judge- by national geographic I think. That is for a 16k Disney trip.

It's my husband, my bff, myself and our two boys (who'll be 4 and 2.5). I'm sure the boys would love the castle and I'm sure if we won, I'd get excited about it.

Oh ya I'm sure they would and being boys I bet they will do something special that would be boy fun too.
And from What I'm reading the Castle sleeps 6 so I bet since your little one is so young, they would probably let you bring your BFF.

And I was reading about some of the deluxe resorts. I thought I read there was one that does sleep 5.

Well first things first. You need the winning email.

I see you are going in October for your first trip. That's so cool. I love people watching. I tear up when I go into Reading with Belle. Or whatever that attraction is. I just know I love it and watching the little ones.

Just seems like work. LOL
And the $16K one sounds way out of my comfort zone. But I guess I could force myself to get used to it. But I suspect it will ruin all my under $3K vacations in the future.;)

Let's just keep it simple. Pay for my airfare so I can just go when I want to go and not worry about that adding up, and then pay for me to stay at deluxe and my park hoppers. That will work. LOL

I just realized tonight that I was at WDW a year ago this Sunday coming. I had gone on a solo trip for 5 days. We had a storm while I was gone and I was happy to be there but made the mistake of calling home to make sure everyone else was ok. Then I was worrying about them. geesh.

The GF has some rooms that officially sleep 5, with two queen beds and a rather hard and short couch/bed. It doesn't fold out, and it's too firm to be comfortable for most adults, but my son slept willingly on it during our trip.

We've only been once in the past decade, but we loved the GF and would be thrilled to stay there again. (Not sure if we can afford it again without winning this contest--we were lucky enough to find a really great rate last year.) If we won, I would be a little tempted, however, to stay at an Epcot resort for ease of travelling to Epcot and Hollywood Studios on the nights we did not stay at the castle. But we would probably stay at the GF again and drive to Epcot and DHS. The Epcot area seems loud, but I'm not sure if it's noisy at night.
