Mousesavers has just updated their website to announce the Disney Free Dining package is available once again! Here are the details:

Check in between 8/21/05 and 10/4/05 for a Magic Your Way vacation package of 3 nights or longer at a Walt Disney World resort and get the Dining Plan added at no extra cost!

Stay must be 3-10 nights. Promotion is only for travel most nights 8/21/05-10/4/05 and the number of packages available is limited. No group rates or other discounts apply. You must book by 8/20/05.

:bounce:

That seems to indicate that the original promotion either was very successful or not successful enough. Confusing....

The offer must be booked by 8/20 according to Disney! Hope people can take advantage of it! I also hope they extend it further! ;)

Well, they didn't really "extend" it -- at least not in the way I think you mean. They're simply offering it again, but for the same period as they offered it before. Extending the offering itself into October would probably be a bad sign for Disney -- it would seem to indicate that Disney sees softness in demand in October, traditionally a "normal" month in terms of demand. That could bode well for guests in the short-term, but since quality pretty-much tracks how much money Disney's making, bodes poorly for guests in the long-term. I was hoping we were past these soft economy problems.

My, semi-informed, opinion is the hurricanes of last year combined with the early hurricanes this year are making visitors wary about going to WDW in September.

I think this wouldn't work for me. I have a room booked for August 28 - September 4. So, timewise, it works, but I have an Annual Pass. Does that mean I'm out of luck?

Yes and no. If you have a room only discount booked then no you can't add the free dining onto your room only.

You would have to pay rack rate for your room and purchase tickets. I don't think they changed anything so you would have to buy a one day ticket for everyone in your room. It might be beneficial to do the math and see if it works out better for you.

Yes that might be better off because he wouldn't be there to use all the dining plan credits and you would have so many left over that it would be a waste. At that point it wouldn't be worth the money.

This is great for all the folks that might have missed out the first time around. The only problem for those signing up now will be getting the more popular restaurant and time AR's. By looking at other threads it seems like alot of the popular places might be booked!

I can agree with that--look at the airfare promos for September in/out of FL. Those all end on September 29. There are deals to be had in October, but not as cheap as September.

I just seen this myself on mousesavers :cool1: I am already booked with the free dining, but I got right on the phone to let my brother know about it :jumping1:

I have an annual pass also. But you only have to buy a 1 day ticket for each person. So for approximately $65(the cost of a one day)you can eat for 3 days. Still a good deal for me !!

Thanks for the update. We were hoping to go with three other couples but no one seems interested in Free Dining. Everyone would much rather have a room only discount.

Can I use the dining plan to make a ressie at Hollywood & Wine for the Fantasmic Dinner package or no? Would be kinda cool if I could.

From what I have read the answer is no :( It would be nice though, I have seatings there myself :sunny:

Just out of curiosity I priced the package on their website using the exact criteria I booked prior to the first package deadline of July 3rd. Interestingly, my total came up to be $3179 for 7 nights at CR and when I booked the exact plan the first time my total was only $2839...I wonder if anyone else has checked to see if the rates somehow jumped up a bit? That's a difference of $340...just thought it was a bit odd. I got 8 day park tickets (basic no hopping) and no trip insurance...

Anyone else double check?

Tara

I just priced mine & it came out the same. $1226.57 for 7 nights at CSR with a one day base ticket. :confused3
