Yes. It is real canadian maple syrup and about AU$12?? for 1 litre. I'm not paying $8 for 250 ml at a supermarket!

I hadn't heard of donuts in the oven either. I googled the recipe and most of them were fried. I'm not a big fan of fried stuff....it's okay when I'm only having one or two...but I was going to end up with at least 12 for making my own.

And then I found this one in the oven. They actually turned out okay...just a bit 'wet' on the inside. But I suspect that is how it is meant to be.

Interesting. No I'm not a big fan of fried either. I prefer steamed Asian dishes. Grilled or baked fish. And baked desserts. (please no funnel cakes for me. Just the smell makes me gag. Especially the ones at six flags.)

Anyway. Dinner is ready. Pork chops and cauliflower :thumbsup2

Currently on the choo choo home.
I envy what you're deciding between Alison....sigh......

I know, at least it is a good dillema!

Don't feel behind. The PTR is just a bit of fun and you don't have to lock yourself in. Just say you'll be going to try out as many of the F&W stalls as possible....afterall, all sorts of things could happen whilst you're there. It could rain. You might decide to take it easy. You might meet someone.

Just work out your ADRs and keep Saturday lunch free? There's so much to eat at the stalls...

The thing is I know that we can eat 8-9 plates so I'm kinda trying to work it all out on the PTR instead of in my head. I figure that if we get 8-9 right at 11 by 2:30 we'll be good for dessert and drinks, but I'm getting caught up on where to start which makes it hard for either Sunday night (where we may or may not hit the festival) and then Monday. I suppose I should just take the booths and cut them up into 8-9 plates that we want to eat and figure out if we might make it.

:thumbsup2 Like you say....it's a good dilemma to have. If you can eat 8 -9 plates, maybe you should just work out which group of "closest" booths have the highest number of plates you want to sample....afterall, it's a long way from Canada to Germany; if you should want to have cheese soup and sausage.

Enjoy. I had a fish parcel in the oven - barramundi with carrots and Asian veg. One foil cooking and the whole family enjoys it.

DS has just discovered the donuts and he loves them. :thumbsup2

Oh my Krispy Kreme, oh so good. Most closed up due to Atkins. Low carb killed that. I am tired but cant sleep. Changed over from att to comcast. Boy that is so much better.

The first day we are going the Britain/Canada Route, the second we get a waffle at Belgium before our French lunch.

The third is my dilemma, we will go the France route, but I've heard mixed reviews on the Coq au vin with Mac n cheese, some have said it's awful, so I'm wondering if we skip France, go get the mussels in Belgium, or the lobster in Hops and Barley (also mixed reviews) or just head to Morocco, Germany and Italy (great reviews). Decisions, decisions......we can probably only get in three booths before we get full since we like one of everything and split them between the two of us! And we need to be able to eat the desserts and drink the Grand Mariner!

I wasn't very impressed with the food offering at France last year. Dana and I got the chocolate creme brulee at France and it was WARM (and pretty bad).

If it were me, I'd head to Morocco, Germany and Italy.

I think I'd mainly hang out in Italy :lmao:

I'm generally not impressed with France or Germany desserts normally....I honestly don't get the obsession NORMALLY. But I do live in a country full of french inspired patisseries...
You've seen what PIO finds...

I'm sure you'll find your way and follow your nose. :thumbsup2

All the talk about good food! Yum!

Here's a picture from our drive through western Maryland on Saturday; beautiful weather and trees!

Our goal that Saturday will be to find savory items. Germany has a great sausage in a pretzel roll. The kefta in Morocco is good, and then there is all the lobster stuff... I don't think we're going to make it through all the kiosks much less twice for my faves!

Good morning. I'm heading off to work soon.

Nice picture klmall.

Nice to see you posting Dana.

Usnuz - have a nice day.

Queenie - another cold day in Melbourne. WORK! :sad1:

Alison - I think Dana had the sausage from Germany last year and it looked really delicious.

The sausage was good. We had it two years ago. The ravioli looks awesome. I'm going to have to work on my PTR today and work out some logistics in my head. That is after we finish the meat packing and freezing.

I got off work at 1 and got home around 2:30 or so. Right now, I'm working on making pizza dough :) DBF and my uncle are coming over for dinner tonight, so we're making pizza.

And yes, I had the sausage and pretzel roll from Germany last year and it was awesome :teeth:
