...and this week it's a hurricane. Irene is her name and she's cancelled the Wild Half in Wildwood, NJ this weekend. I have to commend the race officials for putting safety first and calling the event today before people started to travel in for it.

I know. I was scheduled to do this event and am bummed, but safety comes first. I left Wildwood last night, to try to avoide the morning rush. They had called for mandatory evacuation by 8AM this morning. The race organizers have deferred registration till next year's event.

Be safe Terri. We have a house on the Delaware Bay right near Lewes. We cleared out last night. Hoping the house survives the storm.

I was also supposed to run a half this past weekend in the city and was cancelled by Irene. At this point I am just happy to have power back at both my home and office - so many are still out!

We're all okay, fortunately. We feel very lucky. There was evidence of water at our house, but none inside the house. The house was in a mandatory evacuation zone so my sister and her fiance (who live there full time) left to go to higher ground.
