Also, what are your tips on making decorating easy??

I'm an all white lights girl! I hang them (I as in my husband) on the porch and in the trees. I LOVE white twinkly lights in trees!! This year I am going to hang snowflakes from the trees too. I also make trees out of my tomato cages! Just tie the tops together to make a tree shape, stick in a flower pot, wrap pine garland (or use the real thing if you have a tree) around it until it's a nice fluffy little tree! I decorate them with glittered oranges and lemons and berry sprigs and tie the top with a pretty Christmas bow. I stick them on either side of my front steps! Cheap and quick, exactly what I need this time of year!

...what a great idea! (...I too am an "all-white-lights" kinda gal and, every year my DH and I fight over what kinds of lights to use to decorate, since he likes colors! :rotfl: )

When I replace normal decor for Christmas stuff I pack the normal stuff back in the Christmas boxes. I don't really go overboard with too much stuff but I have enough so the house looks festive that is for sure.

Outside we do white lights in our trees, around our garage door an around the railings on our front porch. This year I want to put lights in our back yard but those will have to be LED lights because I don't know if we have enough circuits to handle more lights.

I want to add a second tree to our indoor stuff. DH won't agree so we will see what happens there. We have always done a real tree but 2 years ago we got a fake one because we went out of town for Christmas. Last year we put up the fake tree. I bought the fake tree to put in our dining room bay window and where we put our "real" tree, it is just too small for that and it looks silly. Besides, I want to put colored lights on a real tree and my white lights on the fake one. :lmao:,

Great Ideas.

We have not done outside decorating in years but I would like to ive it a try again this year. We have some Christmas geese made out of wood I plan to place in the garden and I want to put some lights on the outside (I am thinking white). After that I have no ideas.

One easy idea is using Net lighting. We have used it at my Grandma's house for years and is so easy to put out and store after.

I want two trees too! My husband is also on the anti two tree team. Boo! We always do a family tree, with ornaments the kids made or picked out, ornaments from the places we've visited or lived, and cranberries and popcorn garland that we string while watching Christmas movies. The kids get to help and it doesn't have to look perfect. I love that tradition and don't want to trade it BUT...I want a fancy tree too! One full of feathers, and themed, and matching colors, and fancy ribbon...like Macy's in my dining room! I got to do one the year we sold our house (buyers don't want to see a bunch of your personal items) It was gorgeous and sooo fun for me! I loved looking at my fancy tree!

I don't have a tree to do it on this year (no little pines in my yard now), but in past years we would always decorate a tree outside too. We decorated with things edible to birds and squirrels. It was always cute and the kids liked to watch the squirrels stealing popcorn and the bids eating our birdseed pine cones.

I have 2 trees, and I love it!! DOwnstairs in our finished basemant is our family tree, the one that all the gifts and nativity set go under on Christmas Eve, and upstairs in the living room is the Disney tree. Only Disney ornaments, characters etc, all white lights and a huge silver bow that cascades from the top down the sides. :santa: I love my 2 trees, took me a little while to win over my husband, as we cut down 2 trees and bring them home, so 2 stands, watering etc...but so totally worth it!!
