NEW YORK (AP) Baseball's team owners unanimously approved Disney's sale of the Anaheim Angels to Hispanic businessman Arturo Moreno on Thursday, making him the first minority with a controlling stake in a major league franchise.

Moreno hopes to complete the $184 million purchase of the World Series champions by the middle of next week and take over operation immediately.
Looks like the last major hurdle was cleared.

Hopefully the Ducks will win the Stanley Cup and The Walt Disney Company can take advantage of that to sell them. What a fortunate couple of years it will be for Disney if both of their teams win their respective championships, allowing Disney to sell them for at least decent money.

I'm not a big hockey fan and I have no allegiance to any team, so I'll root for that :).

The sweeping of the Red Wings may be good for the team, but a seven game series would have netted Disney much more profit. The Stars in six helped, but being up 3-0 on Wild isn't good for the bottom line.

Taking the series in sweeps might not be as good as it could have been, but it is still better than bowing out in the first round. Also, if the Ducks win the Stanley Cup, how many additional millions would this give Disney if a sale of the team were to follow this season? I think that would more than make up for the lesser games to win the cup.
