It's all about the shopping... with Wigd and Shocker

The bag is still in the bag, but when I get it out, I WILL take a picture and post it for those that really are interested....:rolleyes1
It's been a busy week.
WOW, I'm just SHOCKED, it was still in the bag!!:sad2:
I'll tell you this, it's going to be an interesting ride! All the way to Florida. How hard can it be. Get in the car and drive.
Much easier than all the hassle of the airport.
Pack the bags.
Worry about the weight of the bags.
Load the car.
Unload the car.
Check in at the airport.
Check the weight of the bag.
Check the bag.
Go through security...........
Wait on the flight.
Wedge yourself and carry-on bags into your tiny seat space.
Then go.
Deal with the passengers around you.

How hard can driving be?

Load the car and drive...
YEP, that is all there is to it, Marc loads the car and calls you when it's loaded and ready.....so much easier, if you ask me!!:rotfl2:
Just sit miss Barrie Lee on the end and have her walk up after it's over to show the animator her drawing. I'll just bet she walks back with an extra drawing!:thumbsup2Great tip and will be used and they will probably be much happier that she isn't climbing over the tables at the end of the class!;)

We really are looking forward to that summer trip, but first we have to suffer through our Spring Break trip. ;)I'm thinking y'all will make it through Spring Break doing fine, especially if Mr. Sliced Bread is working his magic!!

Wow, I was posting at the same time as you were........now get in here and give us an update!! LOL

I hope you can manage it!!!! all that suffering!!!:rotfl2::rotfl:

Good to know about the hair dryers. We will take one of the purple lockers with us and I'll make sure it has my hair dryer in it! I keep one down there all the time, along with a flat iron!
Can't wait to read all about your adventures at sea!

That is good to knw about the hairdryers!

Do lots of people decorate like that in your neighborhood at home? They sure do here in Derby! We have tour buses driving through our neighborhood. It's crazy!
People around here decorate with inflatables, but I don't think it's quite like Ft. Wilderness. We've never been over there at Xmas time. I saw it on tv one time!

Awesome about your end of school! I wish we would hear about ours. I keep watching for something to come up in our BOE minutes but not a word so far.

Don't encourage him!!!

Love them, Michael was sure little in that first one! Such a handsome boy!

Michael had just turned 5 in the first one. He was 8.5 in the second one. He just turned 10 last week!!!! It will be adult prces from here on out!!!!:scared1: Our AP's just ran out last week and I didn't renew since we won't be back until Xmas!!!! I still have a few weeks to renew, but I probably won't! :sad2: Thanks!

Thanks Jen! I need to find a dress for the wedding! Well I have one but it's a fall back dress. I need a better one!

When is the wedding?

No it's wasn't Marc. It was the ex-husbands new wife. :sad2:

UGH!!!! Sorry she's creating trouble!!

The sleigh ride is fun, but there really is so much to do. Just make sure you have time for it all!
Are you thinking that this next Christmas is maybe not happening now?
I can't wait to see Melvin in a few weeks!
I want to pull the prank call again.....

I can't wait to have that drink of OJ at the welcome center! It will be a first for us!

We do that when we drive!

Our summer trip is going to be awesome! Have I mentioned that we have tickets to see Katy Perry too?

When/where are you going to see her? That will be fun. And, of course, your summer trip sounds AWESOME!!!!!

I need to hop over and see if you started!
Last week was so busy I almost didn't have time to think!

If you are ever there around Christmas and if you have the time I say do the sleigh ride!

I did book our New Year's trip the other day!!!! :cool1: Right now we are booked at SSR, our home, just to be on the safe side. At 7 months, I will see what else I can get.

Fixing to update right now!!!

We aren't even booked yet for Christmas...
Didn't have enough points available at Beach Club for the 2br that we wanted so we'll just wait until 7 months and see what we can get too! I know something will be available. I'm just not sure the waitlist for the grand at OKW will come throught...

Let's start with a few pictures of the Ft. Wilderness decorations, then we'll hop to the next day.

With that we dropped Ros at Boardwalk and made our way to the Beach Club.
Marc and I realized that we could make it over to WS in time for Illuminations so off we went.

Then Holdiay Illuminations was over and we walked back to our home.
We had a busy day coming up and we needed our rest!

Well, if you are wondering if this is the day we went off shopping around Florida.....no.
I will say that we did go grocery shopping our first night at Publix. I think I forgot to mention that. We didn't do a food delivery this time. It was nice to just go and buy what we wanted and not to feel like we needed to get our money's worth since there was a delivery fee....

This morning we rope dropped Epcot!

IMG_0789.png

It was our first time to walk on to Soarin'!
We met up and rode with Elena as her guys went and rode Test Track? I think? Or was it Mission Space?
Marc and I then grabbed a yummy breakfast at Sunshine Seasons.

IMG_0790.png

Next it was a stop at Mouse Gears and a pair of ears for our new grandson Hunter.

IMG_0792.png

Then we headed back toward WS just far enough to get some pictures of the topiaries.

Don't you love it when they have you pose for the magic shots and they don't show up? :rotfl2:

And with that, we headed for the monorail....

The guys were riding Test Track.:) Did you ever ride MS, the orange side?
I like your magic shot!
Your Sunshine Seasons food looks yummy!

The monorail took us to the TTC then we hopped on the Ferry over to the MK.

This was the day that I was looking for the perfect spot for the afternoon parade.
We ended up in Frontierland.
I went to sit on one of the big boxes that surrounds a tree. There was some nasty bird poop that needed to be cleaned up first.
That should have served as a warning.....

Marc went to get us turkey legs.
The guy behind him in line got pooped on by a bird.
Marc laughed.
On the inside...

When he came back over and sat down he got pooped on.
All down his neck and on his shirt.
I know ewwwww.
So we moved on.

It got all over his new camera strap too.

We sat by the Magic Carpets to eat.
Just in front of this.

IMG_0808.png

Then we went over in front of the train station to find our perfect spot for the parade.

I met up with Pinocchio.

Then it was over!

After the paraded we left the park.
We were hopping over to DHS, I don't remember why we went because we had a dinner reservation somewhere else later in the evening. When we were walking in I heard someone talking about this guy that played for the Orlando Magic. I had to get a pic for Baylor.

IMG_0833.jpg

Here's our basketball player on his ECV heading to Osborne lights.

DSCN3094.jpg

What I know is this, we got pixie dusted with some fast passes for TOT!

IMG_0839.jpg

DSCN3095.jpg

We rode our ride and possibly tried to do a drawing class. I know we didn't get in because I don't have a picture of any art...
So we left to get ready for our dinner at the Contemporary.

We went back to the Beach Club, changed our clothes and drove over to the Contemporary. Went straight up and were seated at the Cali Grill.

We started out with the Flat Bread.

IMG_0842.jpg

The bread and butter with sea salt.

IMG_0843.jpg

We split the ravoli appy.

IMG_0844.jpg

This was the view out of the window, although not from our table. Sometime I'd like to come up and order from the bar area and sit by this window and eat....
You don't need an ADR for that.

Then when it was time for Holiday Wishes we went out to the viewing platform. This was our view from there.

IMG_0848.jpg

It was very much like viewing from the Top of the World Club at Bay Lake last summer.

Then we came back in to our main courses.

I had the pork tenderloin.

IMG_0849.jpg

and a belated Happy Birthday even though we were stuffed and didn't order any dessert.

IMG_0850.jpg

Marc had a strip steak. Sorry no pic!

As we were leaving I snapped a photo of the gingerbread shingle tree by the mural in side the hotel.

IMG_0851.jpg

After that busy day, we headed back and went to bed, we were going on a field trip the next day!:drive:

The guys were riding Test Track.:) Did you ever ride MS, the orange side?
I like your magic shot!
Your Sunshine Seasons food looks yummy!

Yes! We did ride the orange side! It was intense....
Wasn't that magic shot "special"? :rotfl2:

AND the wedding is March 19th.

Are you thinking that this next Christmas is maybe not happening now?

Oh, we are still planning on it -- it will just depend on finances and how long we can escape down there. The only snag is I have to be back at work on January 2. :(

Really Jackie??? Do we need to butter him up anymore?? I mean all the reading I have been doing on this thread, "he" apparently is the next best thing since sliced bread!!!!!!!!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: It's best to stay on Shocker's good side. ;)

Anita, love all the pictures of the parade. I think I need a pair of candy-can striped tights.

I love all the parade pictures! On our trip we only stopped for about 5 mins during the block party bash parade. We never did see a MK Parade. Hopefully if we can get some MNSSHP tickets this year we can watch the Boo to you!

I just LOVE that parade! So much fun and so festive! I enjoyed seeing all the characters and the dancing CMs! Dinner at Cali Grill! Can't get enough of that! :thumbsup2

I just realized that you had another post and that you hit THREE parks in one day! Woot Woot! I'm impressed!
Love those Epcot Photos!!! Weather looks like it was nice! :)

Now wait, these guys didn't spot you in the crowd and stop by and leave you a little something-something??? Geez, that bird must have thrown Shocker off his game???

It sounded like a wonderful, magical day, well MOST of it anyway!! Though, somebody, somewhere told me once that if a bird pooped on you it was good luck........for the life of me, I can't remember who.......but I am guessing it was somebody that got pooped ON!!!!! Your magic shot at Epcot earlier in the day might have been Disney's way of saying BE PREPARED you will need to use this pose later in the day or ELSE......:confused3

You sure have had a lot of Dismeets this trip, so many lucky folks that don't have to compete with a wedding!! Just saying!! :sad1:

I love all the pictures of the Parade, makes me want to go at Christmas time.

Then ToT, with a pixie dusted FP.....that is awesome........I just love how you always throw your hands up and enjoy the ride!!

OK, sitting back waiting on details of the field trip...........but I promise I will be patient!! :rolleyes1 Of course with all the park hopping you did on this day and eating at the Contemporary, you could have used that Rental this day too!!!! I know, I know, Shocker.....Disney does have great transportation......but I was thinking you could have dropped Wigd. at the gate and saved her from walking up all the ramps to the monorail, then you of course could have gone and parked the car everywhere y'all went!!! ;) Just trying to help you get the most you can from that RENTAL!! I mean from what I have already read, it has $AVED you money on groceries, since you only bought what you needed and you didn't have to get stuff just to make it worth it to cover the delivery cost!!:thumbsup2

Sorry you had a bad week Anita. Hopefully it got better for you.

Love all the parade pics.:thumbsup2

Looks like a great few weeks vacation coming up!! Sounds great.

Lets see that new Vera!! I need to stay away from that site. I have my mini hipster that I loved for our trip last year so I will be using that again this year.

Love that magical pic.:lmao: Looks like you & Marc are trying to avoid getting pooped on by the birds.:rotfl: You always look great in all your pics though.
I love the one of the two of you at DHS.

I will NEVER be convinced that renting a car is the best way to do Disney! In fact, there is a horror story coming up about the pitfall of not using Disney transportation.

I love all the parade pictures.

One of my favorite things is riding over to MK on the boat it's so relaxing. Plus you are able to get great pictures of the Poly, GF, BLT, and CR.

Now that's what I'm talking 'bout! That was on super busy day with a lot of park hopping in between.

Thank you for posting so many beautiful parade pictures. I really enjoyed them! That is such a festive parade and all your pics make me want to go to Disney during the Christmas season. It's been too long.

:cool1: for the pixie dust ToT FP's. I always try to find someone who I think would really appreciate the FP's if I ever have any to give away.

Dinner (what we saw of it) looks delish. I love the contemporary. Talk about going full circle in one day.

And, yes - I hate when you pose for magic shots and they don't come out. Very annoying! :headache:

We have to be back on the 3rd. I really thought it would be the 2nd but we are planning to leave on the 1st anyway. Although I'd like to stay an extra day now.

I think you would look terrific in a pair of candy-cane striped tights!
I love all the parade pictures! On our trip we only stopped for about 5 mins during the block party bash parade. We never did see a MK Parade. Hopefully if we can get some MNSSHP tickets this year we can watch the Boo to you!
You must take in a full fledged Disney parade! MNSSHP is a great one to see!

As much hopping as we did, I wish we would have made it over to AK!
Isn't that an awsome parade?
Now wait, these guys didn't spot you in the crowd and stop by and leave you a little something-something??? Geez, that bird must have thrown Shocker off his game???

We did drive over to our dinner reservation. So the car was used then!

I think the dwarfs couldn't single me out during the parade because so many were standing around looking. It might have started rumors....

I wish you would consider a Christmas trip. You know we will be there Christmas week!
Sorry you had a bad week Anita. Hopefully it got better for you.

Love all the parade pics.:thumbsup2

Thanks Doreen! You are so good staying away from the Vera site. It keeps calling me back, over and over.....
I'll get a picture of the bag. Promise!
We won't be sitting under anymore birds in trees, lesson learned!

I will NEVER be convinced that renting a car is the best way to do Disney! In fact, there is a horror story coming up about the pitfall of not using Disney transportation.
It was bad, but still not bad enough for me to want to stick to Disnsey transportation.
Just another lesson learned.
I love all the parade pictures.

One of my favorite things is riding over to MK on the boat it's so relaxing. Plus you are able to get great pictures of the Poly, GF, BLT, and CR.
I don't mind the boat ride unless it ruins my hair.

And, yes - I hate when you pose for magic shots and they don't come out. Very annoying! :headache:

I know there weren't many dinner pics, and they were all taken with my phone. Marc seemed to forget his camera a bunch on this trip.

I love pixie dusting others with fast passes that we can't use too!

The only good thing about the magic shots that don't work out is that they are good for a laugh!:lmao:

The next day we awoke to another beautiful Florida day! Marc went down to the Beach Club marketplace and grabbed a yogurt parfait for me! I grabbed a plastic spoon and a drink and we were out the door and on our way to the parking lot.

There had been freezing temps the week before and many plants and flower were showing frost damage so we were pleasantly surprised to see what the grounds keepers had accomplished while we were sleeping!

IMG_0852.jpg

It had been my wish to go to to a Citrus Candy factory that a DIS friend had addicted me to (the candy).

We made it to the highway with the help of our GPS and were on our way!
Before we knew it we were surrounded by organge groves.
This Kansas girl was in AWE!

Before we knew it here we were!

IMG_0853.jpg

We walked in, well, I skipped in.....
and started looking around.
There are windows so you can see the candy being made.
The sweetest little old lady came up and started telling all the history of the business and how they made the candy!

IMG_0854.jpg

IMG_0855.jpg

IMG_0856.jpg

IMG_0857.jpg

We bought lots of candy for us and friends back home. Also got some gator foot back stratchers as stocking stuffers.

Then we headed back towards Orlando hoping for a Chic Fil A stop on the way back.

My one request was to have my picture made by an orange tree. So Marc stopped and I hopped out of the car. I imagine I was trespassing but I did no harm. Didn't pick an orange or anything....

IMG_0858.jpg

Did we find that Chic Fil A?
You betcha!

IMG_0859.jpg

We don't have the chance to eat this here so I was really happy!

IMG_0860.jpg

Next on our agenda was meeting Elena, John, and Michael at the Merry Mixer over at the Contemp.

IMG_0861.jpg

We waited in line to get in then got in line for our pins...
You will see those in the souvie post.
Goofy was out playing Simon Says with the kids.

IMG_0862.jpg

We grabbed a table, enjoyed some punch, socked away our rice crisy treats and visited with our friends for a bit, then it was time for us to go and get ready for our ADR at R&C.
Elena, Michael, I got a picture together.
There were characters there posing with guests but we didn't have time to go to that line.
So we headed to the statue.

IMG_0863.jpg

Just going to apologize now for the dark pictures taken with my iphone w/o a flash....
We sat inside of R&C, a first for us!
Just next to the fireplace.
Super cozy!

IMG_0864.jpg

IMG_0865.jpg

IMG_0866.jpg

Then the food started coming!

IMG_0867.jpg

IMG_0868.jpg

I ordered a side of Yorkshire Pudding! Mmmmmmmm.

IMG_0869.jpg

This is my usual, Bangers and Mash! Oh goodness, I love this!

IMG_0870.jpg

Marc thinks he had the stew and posted his pics to FB, but I don't have them in photobucket....

Next we went to the outlet mall for some late night shopping.
It was nuts but there was a line to get into the Coach store!
It was 10:00 PM!

No worries we were en route here!

IMG_0871.jpg

I didn't take shopping pics this time but I did on another trip over....
So stay tuned!

The store closed at 11:00 then we made our way back to the Beach Club and fell into bed to prepare for another busy day!

I will NEVER be convinced that renting a car is the best way to do Disney! In fact, there is a horror story coming up about the pitfall of not using Disney transportation.

OK, I may not wait as patiently as I was going too for the update now!! I mean if a horror story is included about the RENTAL, I will be sitting on the edge of my seat, antsy, until Wigd. gets around to it!!

Buddy, I hate to tell you........it's not YOU that will ever need "convincing" about whether to or not to rent a car......or ANYTHING else for that matter!!! :rotfl2: Just be glad that the bird found YOU and not our precious Wigd. YOU are DA MAN!!!
