Arizona Jeff knelt down and picked up a handful of dirt. Slowly he let it slide through his fingers. He looked up at the sky and surveyed his surroundings. After a few moments, he stood. The wind rustled through his hair and his chiseled jaw set firm as he concentrated on what he was doing.
Arizona Jeff looked up from where he was crouched. The air had shifted and with the breeze he turned to the East to face the wind. The sun was beginning to rise above the horizon and Arizona squinted and pulled his hat down to shield his eyes. He was obviously concentrating upon something in the distance although nothing could be seen, Arizona Jeff could sense a presence. Soon, out of the sunlight could be seen a lone figure cloaked in an overcoat and a large teal hat. The woman was striking and carried herself with great confidence. Finally she arrived and stood before Arizona Jeff.
It has been a long time Mean Laureen our hero said. What brings you to the desert?
I came looking for you Arizona Jeff, proclaimed Mean Laureen. I have something that might be of interest to you. At this moment she reached into her coat and removed a journal. It was clear that this journal was quite old and was heavily worn. Arizona Jeff took the book and delicately opened the cover. As he did this, the leaves in the surrounding trees rustled in hushed tones as if they knew something important was about to happen.
Where did you get this? Asked Arizona Jeff.
Where or how I obtained this is unimportant. Do you know what this is? Asked Mean Laureen.
This is the journal of Oliver P. Phinnius. I have not heard from poor Ollie for years. I lost track of the old fool when he went off looking for that mystical magical land of pins. Explained Arizona Jeff.
That old fool found it. Said Mean Laureen.
Shocked, Arizona Jeff looked up. He could see Mean Laureen smile wryly at the look on his face. That story was just a legend. There is no such place, said Arizona Jeff. Did Ollie tell you this?
Ollie is gone Arizona Jeff. Vanished without a trace. All that is left is that journal, explained Mean Laureen. But the last entry to his journal is interesting reading.
July 18, 2001. I think I have finally stumbled upon the secret of the magical pins. I cannot believe that after all these years that I have finally found it! I would give anything to see the look on my dear friend Arizona Jeffs face when hears of my discovery. It is an adventure he would not want to miss. The key to the magic rests with the map and the letter scroll buried near the altar of collection. Time is of the essence, many search for the magic but only one can possess it.
Where is Ollie, Laureen? Asked Arizona Jeff.
Mean Laureen bowed her head and in a whisper barely heard, I dont know Arizona. I have looked everywhere.
Grab your gear Mean Laureen, Its adventure time! Proclaimed Arizona Jeff and with that he grabbed his bag and began his journey.
This is an adventure you are not going to want to miss. Join our heroes and find out
