I asked this last year,so I will ask it again,

How many watch this movie on Chistmas eve,or on Christmas day??

It's a classic on our house. What about youres?

Just watched it tonite while writing out our Christmas cards. Went different this year and watched the colorized version.

Usually I save A Christmas Carol for Christmas Eve itself. My holiday viewing begins with National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

I have a library of favorite movies I watch in December. They include:

  • It's A Wonderful Life
  • Christmas Vacation
  • Miracle on 34th Street
  • A Christmas Carol
  • Polar Express
  • Eloise at Christmastime
  • The Santa Clause
  • The Nutcracker Ballet
  • Home Alone
  • and several Christmassy RomComs.

My family used to watch The Santa Clause every Christmas Eve, then we switched to White Christmas. Last year we watched It's A Wonderful Life... I don't know what it'll be this year! :santa:

Remember, when you hear a bell ringing,a angel has earned there wings!!!:littleangel:

I watched half of it last night while wrapping gifts and I'll watch the other half this morning while I'm wrapping more. :thumbsup2 I love it but I'm the only one in my family who likes it.

December 23rd..... that's the night my dh put this movie in and somewhere in the movie he asked me to marry him....... I can't for the life of me remember what part it was though...... :headache: We'll watch it on the 23rd.

"I wish I had a million dollars ... Hot dog!"

"Help me down, Georgie?"
"Help you DOWN?!?

My husband and I have been watching IAWL every Christmas Eve since 1991. :santa:

Dh and I like to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" on Christmas Eve, too!

My doing-the-Christmas-cards movie is "Miracle on 34th St.", and wrapping I usually just listen to music.

I have the DVD - it is my favorite movie - I watch it any time that I need a reminder of how fortunate I really am to have a family and friends who love me for who I am.

I make sure to watch it every year during the holiday season, but not on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day - too may parties/guests.

I will watch it sometime this week, maybe even today after church but not Christmas Eve or Chrismas Day.

I love to watch this movie but I watch it alone. No one else in my family will watch with me.

Today I watched a new Christmas movie that will become my Christmas Eve movie.

Christmas Story. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0772176/ (NOT to be confused with A Christmas Story!)

The movie is wonderful. If you have children or grandchildren, I highly recommend it. Not for the real young ones though.

Without telling too much, here is a brief synopsis
Hundreds of years ago in Lapland, a little boy named Nikolas loses his family in an accident. The villagers decide to look after the orphaned boy together. Once a year - at Christmas - Nikolas moves to a new home. To show his gratitude, Nikolas decides to make toys for the children of the families as good-bye presents.

The movie is dubbed in English, but I did not feel that it detracted from it. And I had tears in my eyes, :thumbsup2 good movie!

And it streams on Netflix.:yay:

We'll watch it at least once, I DVRd it a couple weeks ago to be ready. And I'll watch Christmas in Connecticut but that one is usually just me alone.

As a family we'll watch The Santa Clause and A Christmas Story, and this year the kids will watch Ernest Saves Christmas for the first time. :santa:

It's funny....I normally DO watch it at some point, but I haven't yet this year. Not a particular day, just whenever I can catch it on tv. Last year, I forced my dd to watch it with me. ("But mooommm, it's in black and white!) She loved it and has already watched it this year, all the while chiding me for not watching it with her. I better get with the program.

I think IAWL is my favorite movie of all time. I watch it at least once during the Christmas season. I have seen it probably 25 times and I still cry like a baby at the end. Every. single. Time.

On Christmas Eve my Dh and I have a glass of wine and watch A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sim.

I guess we're kind of a comedy family. It's been a tradition with us to watch Home Alone every year. We now have to watch Elf too.
