I am a regular lurker and sometimes poster here on the Dis. I haven't been to WDW in 6 years but that hasn't stopped me from dreaming of the day we will go back. Our first family trip was 2009 when we went to celebrate the twins 5th birthday. This year we will celebrate their 11th birthday and our 15th anniversary. So who are we? We are the Floyd family and we love going on adventures together. I am Dawn and am married to Jeff for 15 years this summer
We have boy/girl twins who are awesome. At least every other day and sometimes on Sunday
No, they are good kids who will turn 11 while at WDW. I cannot believe how fast things happen. I truly believe when they were just a prayer on my lips and now they are 10 and going into fifth grade. My DH works for the City and I am a homeschooler/3rd grade teacher. Up until this year I was a full time homeschooler but now they are enrolled in a collaborative school twice a week and then I homeschool them the remainder of the week. I also teach at the school. The biggest negative of teaching is having to work around the school schedule for vacations. If I wasn't working at the school I would just pull them out the week before but as a teacher it just isn't ok to do that.
So for the first time our family is going to travel during regular school breaks. Our last family trip was a Carnival cruise from Galveston for a week. We were able to go to 3 ports and have a blast the 1st week of December for a very reasonable cost. That same cruise during school break is almost double. The only way we are able to make this trip happen is because we have 2 seven day park tickets in our possession and my aunt has a timeshare we can use for the week for only $150 and finally we are going to drive. I cannot believe I am willing to drive to FL from TX but in order to get back to the mouse - I will do it. I know it will be exhausting but I know lots of families who do it so it's not impossible. I'm psyching myself up for it
I will share our dates and plan ideas a little later. Welcome to my pre-trip report. I hope you will join me. I will also post some pictures of the family.
