"IT'S A TRAP!" A January 2012 trip report ~ *Updated FINALLY! 7/6*

I was speed-walking and all I could think was, "I'm meeting someone for the first time, I'm making her wait, AND I'm going to be a sweaty, stinky mess."

That made me laugh. On summer trips, it's pretty much this way just getting from the room to the bus stop. The rest of the day is downhill from there!

So glad you girls got to meet. :)

As for your dad, well you know what I am going to say - I hope to meet him someday, and no, nothing will surprise me. :goodvibes

I know I read that last update before, but whenever I hit "Last unread post" it took me clear back to June 16th or somewhere around that date! :confused3

I'm so sad that you're already writing about your last day! I know how you feel -- I always try to drag out the last day in at least 4-5 updates! It's so much fun reliving your trip when writing a TR, but when it comes to the end, it's so sad! It's as if your trip is ending a second time...I totally understand!

I still have to email you about our possible meet. I promise, promise, promise to do it this week. I was going to say this weekend, but I'll say this week so I have a few extra days -- because I'm trying to catch up on DIS today :rolleyes1

("trying" being the keyword as I'm sitting here & Luke is bugging me to do fifty things & Tyler just started crying because he needs his afternoon nap...so I guess I'll be back to DISing later! LOL!)

Loved your AK pictures!!! I love walking on the trails. It's so peaceful & I always get a ton of good pictures! I was really disappointed in September that we did TWO AK days & it rained both days. It would've been nice if it were a little rain, but it was an all out downpour both days!! :sad2:

Glad you had a nice DISmeet!!! Too funny about your dad and the kilt!

See, just experiencing that made me so grateful we'll never be there in the summer...I don't think it was particularly humid that day, just hot! I can handle heat, I just hate the humidity. I kind of forgot to be grateful that it wasn't humid, because it felt like it had been months since I'd felt any kind of heat outside.

I hope you get to meet him someday, too! He would really enjoy meeting someone I don't have to beg him to behave around. Not like he pays attention, anyway. :rotfl:

So glad you understand about writing about the last day - I am absolutely determined to finish this but the last day is so not fun to write about! I keep reading back to the beginning because that was so much more fun to write about!

That's so weird that you had downpours at AK - our 2010 trip, I think we arrived just when a storm was moving out, and we hit AK when we first arrived. It was not rain, it was a monsoon. Luckily that was pretty much it for the crappy weather, but I am pretty sure Christine also had a really rainy AK day. What is it about AK and rain?!

It was such a nice DISmeet! I almost fell off my seat when I saw my dad with the kilt, though...I really, really thought that his wearing jeans to AK earlier meant I was safe! :rotfl:

I posted on your PTR before I went to mine, so it's funny that you mentioned this, too. We have dates for our trip now and my dad's fine with driving through PA on the way there or the way back, so I'll email you or something at some point and see if we pass anywhere near you guys. I really, really want to meet you!

Yay for making it to your Dismeet!!!! :cool1: And you got some awesome pics of the tigers in AK!! I always forget about that trail! We'll have to visit it sometime!

Hey! Are you back from your trip? How was it?

Logan Airport is absolutely HUGE, so I would not be able to find my way to the EoS, even if it wasn't past a gate. I really, really hope this one opens in the Boston Commons!

The rice crispy treats are soooo good. They don't get stale and gross quickly, either :)

Haha, yeah, I'm back. Actually I've been back... but life got crazy, and now here I am!

I'm glad you made it to your DisMeet! I totally know how you feel about the heat in winter in Florida. It just doesn't seem right. :bitelip:

For me it is Caribbean Beach Resort and rain. I think it's rained about 80% of the times I have ever gone over there!

Any chance of ever driving through Nashville? :wave2:

I don't have and never will have a cat, but I LOVE watching the tigers because they remind me soooo much of the cats I've seen! Just the way they move around. They're so cute! You definitely need to do that trail!

Yayyyy glad you're back! I know what you mean about life being crazy. Glad to hear from you though!

The heat was SO weird. I was actually debating bringing capris, but I didn't, because I was like "it won't be that warm in January." Turns out I regretted it...I even regretted not bringing my bathing suit!

Oh, good, you have one of those places, too! :rotfl:

I wish Nashville were on the way to Ohio, coming from Massachusetts. I would absolutely love to meet up with you and your girls!
