It's a Small World

Our last trip to the Fort, we were hungry late one evening so DW and I went to he WL in the Roaring Forks eatery,,and Cheryl&Jeff (4mickey2) AND Bob&Kathy (TnBob) were there !!!

course, we all went there together. I don't have one of these really cool experiences so I thought I'd make one.:goodvibes

We ran into quite a few off you in Guntersville last year.

Last day of our trip last April we were standing in MK in the hot sun waiting for Peter Pan to return from his break.
Started talking to the people behind us who said this was their last day and that they were also going to start their trek home about 5pm too and stop overnight.
We asked where they were from they said PA
I said us too. gettysburg area.
They said were from there.
I then said well actually just south of gettysburg in littlestown.
They looked at us and said us too.
Turns out they live about a mile from us.

Went to spring break in daytona beach way back in 1989. Was at the MTV place having a great time :rolleyes1 when I looked across the dance floor. There stood a guy that I graduated high school with. Every class reunion since we just shake our heads, hug and start laugh.

One time many years ago when my sweety and I lived in Mississippi, we went to up state New York to visit her folks. We were sitt'n inna dinner when across the room I saw this this really good looking guy that I thought , "I know this guy", and he kept staring back like he knew me too,,
then I realized it was a mirror.

A few years ago I attended Microsoft's TechEd conference in Boston. TechEd has about 10-12,000 people every year. This particular year I was scheduled for a week in Boston, then meet the family in Baltimore and drive to WDW for a week, then to a weekend cruise on Royal Caribbean.

The final day of the conference I am at breakfast with my friend Jim and this young man sits down across the table from us and cracks out a book and starts studying while he was eating. I asked him if he was taking a Microsoft Certification test that day, and he told me he was, but that he was having trouble with a few concepts. Now, Jim and I are both Microsoft Certified Trainers (Jim teaches Developers, I teach Server/Workstation IT Pro classes) so I offered to help the young man, whose name happened to be James. Jim left to head to the airport and James and I sat at the breakfast table and I spent the next hour going over some of the finer points of the Domain Name System with him. James left to take his exam, and I went off to attend a few more sessions before heading to the airport for my flight to Baltimore.

SWMBO and the kids picked me up at BWI that evening. We spent the night at DSIL's house in Glen Burnie, then headed South the next day (Saturday). We had a great week at WDW, and Friday morning, headed to Port Canaveral for our cruise.

The last night of the cruise, I am in the casino with my wife, when who walks in but James and his fiance. First thing I said to him was, "How did you do on the test?"

He was absolutely shocked. He pointed at me and said to his fiance, "This is the guy!! This is the guy who taught me DNS before my test." He passed, and now works as a Microsoft Certified Trainer in the Philadelphia area. I have since seen him at three other Microsoft conferences.

Many, many years ago, while on vacation with the family in New York, we were standing in line at the Statue of Liberty. The line was very long, so we were standing around for a while. While looking around, we turned around and in line right behind my family was a man that looked really familiar to us. He looked at us with familiarity as well. We began to talk to one another, and it turns out he was on his honeymoon with his new wife and he looked familiar because he was our next door neighbor's grandson. He came over to her house every Sunday afternoon to mow her lawn and have dinner. That's why he looked familiar, we saw him every Sunday, right next door to our home. We had a great laugh at what are the odds that of all places and times, we'd end up with the next door neighbors family member thousands of miles away from home...lol.
