I was just reading another post and it referenced how amazing Small World is at night. Is there a difference from the daytime? I've only been on it in the day time so I wouldn't know. Did we miss out? Thanks.

Maybe because of the way it's lit up on the outside at night? The inside doesn't change.

Yes, someone must have been referring to the outside since like PP said, the inside stays the same. Also, I wonder if they were talking about the holiday version since they put a ton of lights on the outside and it's really amazing to see.

Also during many of the fireworks shows they do projections on the facade that complement the fireworks. In front of the castle is the best view, but the view from Small World with the bonus of what they project on the white facade is quite nice too, and far less crowded.

The outside of IASW is one of my favorite things at Disneyland. Just gorgeous.

The inside is the same day and night.

I am thinking it must have been the holiday version of IASW to which the reference was made? If that is the case then, yes, the nighttime gives IASW Holiday a whole new life and it is truly amazing (then again, I am a sucker for thousands of pretty colored lights), and it attracts people from all corners of both parks like moths to a flame to stare in awe. Plus, there is a little light show projected onto the facade intermittently through the night during the holiday season. But the regular, non-holiday IASW, while definitely pretty and eye-catching at night, has never struck me as something that would be considered "amazing," but then again, it is all a matter of opinion, I guess!:goodvibes

It's just like how the Castle on a regular night is majestic, maybe even beautiful. But on a holiday night, the Winter Castle is stunning, breathtaking, jaw-dropping, etc.

Speaking of IASW, is there a list of the new dolls added to the attraction? We just got back from our trip and noticed the new additions to the ride. We found more new dolls the 2nd time we rode it. Just wondering if we caught them all. Of course, I'm just talking about the disney-related dolls, like Alice, Mulan, etc.

TIA!

They have been there for over a year. There are over 30 I don't have a list, but from memory and photos:

Alice
White Rabbit
Ariel
Flounder
Mowgli
Baloo
Jessie
Woody
Bullseye
3 Caballeros
Simba
Pumbaa
Timon
Aladdin
Jasmine
Flying Carpet
Abu
Pinocchio
Wendy
Peter Pan
Marie
Mulan
Mushu
Lilo
Stitch
Cinderella
Jaq
Gus
Nemo
Dory

Plus some I am probably missing.

Sigh.....

I agree that they were talking about the exterior, but slightly disagree that the ride "experience" is the same at night. I do think without the extra ambient daylight the ride is enhanced. I think the same about Alice. The inside show pieces really pop at night. I am a sucker for a dark Disneyland!

I thought the entire IASW experience was greatly enhanced in the evening. Just look at this photo I took as I walked up to the attraction. It's a bit blurry but WOW!

Wow!!! Beautiful!!!

Now I'm debating if we should still try to go in june or if we should wait until right after Thanksgiving..... I love the holidays but June is DD's 3rd b'day and my b'day. Decisions, decisions.... suggestions??
